I've seen there are mixed reviews of this hotel, with many stating on the negative end that customer service was poor. Just finished a quick weekend stay here, and was overall pleased for the price. Here's some noteworthy items: First, booking was done with Latestays who did not send the info to the hotel. Luckily, they had a room, but...

Stayed at The Somkiet Buri Reosrt & Spa for 5 nights in March 08. I did loads of research before we travelled to Thailand and was delighted I made the choice of staying at this hotel. The rooms really are set in the jungle down winding paths that cross waterfalls and streams over little hand made bridges. It is truly...

The hotel is located very centrally in Ao Nang with a short walk to the beach. Rooms are very nice, large and clean. My only complaint is that there were ants in the room but that is hard to avoid in a place like this. The jungle garden is very funny. Nice swimmingpool. Good breakfast. Very friendly and efficient staff....

We stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks and had a greate stay. The room where big and nicely furnished. The djungle setting was fantastic and created an isolated and quiet atmosphere despite the short distance to the main streets of Ao Nang as well as to the beach. The staff where very friendly and service minded without exception. The...

Somkiet Buri Resort, Krabi , Ao nang, Thailand Date: Dec. 2, 2007 Reviewer: a TripAdvisor member, Brugge, Belgium Stayed 7 nights at this hotel in november 2007. It is like a little paradise. When you have enough from the busy center of Ao Nang, it is so nice to enter this quiet hotel in its jungle garden. Very nice room...

First impressions of this hotel match the picutres on Asia World and Sawasdee webites, as well as the hotels own. The jungle setting is a great idea. Not so geat if you can't afford an upstairs room, so can't sit out to enjoy the lovely views. My key dissappointment with this hotel was the quality of service. Most of the...

I stayed in a Superior room on the 2nd floor for 2 days. I regretted for being greedy to change to another hotel (Duang Jai) for exposure of different Krabit resort. Let me praise: 1. Very spacious with big balcony (2 bed chairs) facing the "jungle". 2. No worries for mosquitoes (even when I am out at balcony for hours)....

The breakfast was average but had enough choice to keep you going till lunchtime, location was fantastic, nothing beats eating your breakfast outside surrounded by nature. We didnt eat in the restaurant at night but...

My husband, son (age 9) and I stayed here for 3 nights in mid-August 2007. Fun hotel! This place is located about a 5 minute walk from the beach in Ao Nang. It is off of the main road down a long driveway so it is quiet and secluded. It's right at the edge of a taro field so it...

We recently returned from Thailand (our 4th visit) where we spent 4 nights at the Somkiet Buri resort. I booked this hotel through Sawasdee.com (who were brilliant by the way!). I was really looking forward to staying there as the reviews on Sawasdee were good but the whole experience was quite dissapointing. Firstly, the room smelled really damp. This is...
