Nice location but a great need for an upgrade. Staff were nice and hospitable but was disappointed that it was my birthday and nothing was arranged/complimentary which I'm used to in other hotels. Breakfast was very basic. Due to building being old there are no lifts so bare this in mind . What sells this hotel was definitely the location- being close to the beach and walking distance to the local amenities. Wifi was very touch and go and the air conditioning was a bit of a myth and the heat was unbearable at night. A full upgrade is definitely needed with the price of this hotel which a shame but understand that there may have been issues during the pandemic which they may be recovering from. We stayed at the Golden Beach Resort 2/15/23 - 2/22/23. The best thing about this resort is its the amazing location just across from the beach. Its an easy walk into town where there are lots of shops and restaurants. Otherwise, it is a solid 3 star hotel where the rooms look a bit tired and in need of a refresh. We stayed in a villa (reminded me of a yurt with its circular shape.) The room was large but no bureau or drawers to hold clothing. (See photo below. Guessing the large space next to the closet was once for a CRT TV? Shelves or drawers could easily be added in now.) Breakfast was largely underwhelming as it was the same options just about every morning. I would recommend the property consider getting rid of the 2 table and chairs by the pool and use that space for additional lounge chairs.…

Best thing about this hotel is undoubtedly the location. As close to Ao Nang beach as you can get, and loads of bars, restaurants and shops within a 5 minute walk. Room was large and had all the mod cons you would expect, only problem with it was that the lighting was poor. If you need to see to do your make up or anything like that make sure you bring a torch! Biggest problem by far was the WiFi which was so weak it was virtually unusable and constantly cut out. Ridiculous for a four star hotel! Other major negative was the breakfast, and in particular the coffee. Both machines kept breaking. One ended up being taken out of action completely, the other had a never ending queue and only ever managed a few cups before needing one of the waiters to give the beans a shake and try and get it working again. Ended up making my own with the hot water for the tea and a couple of sachets of instant! Staff also weren't the friendliest in the restaurant, and the variety of items offered on the buffet was limited. Not the worst hotel ever, but if in Ao Nang again would definitely be staying elsewhere!…

Extremely Rude reception staff. Expensive drinks. 1 coke cola at pool 470bht. What a rip off. Won’t return here ever Again. Staff at reception horrible and rude. Made me feel not wanted. No one here very helpful, they just leave you to your own devices. Never again. Awful Stay

The hotel is in a great spot, across from the beach and close to shops and restaurants. Nice pool and restaurant but would advise booking for the evening. This is not our first time in Ao Nang we were here in Feb 2020 be it in a different hotel. My disappointment at this hotel is the housecleaning, 4 star hotel, but they only clean the floors each day, do not make up the bed, do not replace toilet paper or towels or replace the free water you normally receive at other hotels. Had to request this. Beds are hard, but that's fine for me but not the Mrs. Wifi is dreadfully slow. Breakfast is ok, selection of asian and European. If you would like bacon or omelette, you have to request that, and it will be cooked fresh for you. Don't get me wrong here, the hotel is nice, great spot and very convenient for everything. Firstly I'd like to point out the positive points about The Golden Beach Resort. Upon arriving we weren't happy with the location of our rooms but reception were quick to relocate us. The location of this Resort is perfect as it's situated right next to the beach and very close to the main street where all the bars and restaurants are. The pool area was lovely with lots of sunbeds available. However, 90% of the staff don't seem very happy and don't understand much English. I know that we have not long come out of covid and alot of businesses are struggling but they really don't seem to be happy to work there. Breakfast was at best average, none of the staff we're replacing food or drink items when they ran out, no one seemed that bothered. The rooms were spacious with tea and coffee facilities but the beds were rock hard as were the pillows. Most day's we had to have a very difficult conversation with the pool boys about changing our towels, they said they didn't have many towels to give out and didn't really want to change them. To be honest the towels all need replacing as they are very old. Also, it would have been nice to be offered drinks around the pool but no one ever came round, missing a trick there! We stayed 5 nights at the golden beach, the location is superb on the promenade from Main Street to the last Fisherman restaurant (recommended). We had a lower floor room overlooking the pool to due to stairs being difficult for my wife, the rooms are large and adequately equipped although more fresher colours than the brown / cream decor would have suited the hotel better The staff are attentive with rooms service daily and the lobby staff were helpful, there are good choices for breakfast. the daily ‘Thai’ breakfast varied daily but the rest of choices were stable. The internet strength is poor and does not increase nearer the lobby. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Golden Beach and would book again if in this area. Railay beach is a must for a day trip.

Perfect location fronting Aonang beach and within walking distance to the main street of Aonang. Quiet and cosy. Opt for a room near the rear. Room furnishing is a little dated but very spacious. Breakfast spread has a variety and good. Pool comes with one towel each and to be returned by 1800hrs. Staff are friendly and helpful.

I would not recommend this place to anyone ever!! On the first night of 3 booked nights, I encountered many small unknown bugs in my room that had migrated on and into my belongings while I was out and about. I brought this to the staff's attention and they moved, but the damage was already done. I had a miserable night and upon asking for a refund to leave they offered to upgrade me to a separate building, but that room was worse than the last! Large/small ants and little unknown bugs galore. I tried to discuss my concerns with the "manager", Rungthp and was met with threats to call the police on me due to pics and videos that I took of the bugs in the room. She then outright ignored me while I was at the front desk and her staff followed suit. It was only through Agoda that I was able to be refunded my last night and leave early. Cons: dirty, dark rooms, HORRIBLE customer service, staff hardly speaks English so good luck if you have an issue, mediocre breakfast food, as well as the Thai Thai restaurant, unreliable wifi The only pro is the location and there are other hotels around that will give you easy access to Ao Nang Beach It baffles me that this is a 4 star hotel. Literally would have had an amazing 11 day trip if not for this location.…
