Absolutely love this hotel. I stayed here 5 years ago with my children and it is still as amazing as I remembered. In the jungle. A lovely walk from the hotel to the town where you get to see a bit of real Thailand. The rooms are beautiful. We were very lucky that there were only 4 other couples on site (covid has been hard on Thailand) because of that it felt like we had our own private hotel. The restaurant and bar were not operating which was great as we were able to bring in own drink. The staff have been so helpful. Free shuttle to town. Will definitely stay again and recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy the nature of Thailand.
Beautiful properties with all modern amenities. Great location and a very friendly staff. 5 mins drive from Ao Nang Beach with many Indian restaurants nearby. Free shuttle pick and drop to Ao Nang Beach market.
Stayed here for 10 days. They have a regular shuttle each hour to the beach and back. Staff so friendly and remember you!!! Super attentive, clean accommodation!!! Very beautiful surroundings in nature. The following staff made our trip... special shout to the Bell Boy Wirote N so lovely and nothing too much trouble. Reception staff Thanyaporn, saroh, Saleesah, Nutchanut, Pimduam, Suriya, Jongkon! Thank you all for a lovely stay!!!!
Thank you so much we really enjoyed! Very, very nice custumer service! Lovely, helpfull staff member! Very good location ! Just 30min to walk to the beach or you can use shuttle bus ,we better prefer to walk :) closed shop to walk 7-10min. Hotel offering very good trips and for a good price !
We truly enjoyed our stay at Aonang Phu Petra resort - the hotel is nice, our room was great, enjoyed staying there very much. The staff is beyond belief great, they are friendly and helpful and always with a smile on their faces - we were made to feel very welcome. This was our honeymoon trip and they made sure to make us feel extra special - everything was arranged as discussed - from the car waiting for us at the airport to our room. We would return to this hotel without hesitation. Thank you
We checked in thinking the hotel being closed. Minimum staff but maximum effort. Our room 129, end of block of three, looked upto the pool. We had nobody in the adjoining room, so cant say how noisy it would be if there was. First night there was a massive spider when we got back from town. We phoned reception who sent 2 staff over who managed was being to squash it, thankfully. I commented on hotels.com after our check in about the lack of towels and no mosquito net. We returned later in the day to find a full set of towels and mozzie net over the huge bed. We didnt have any 'insect' incidents after that. Breakfast eggs were cooked to order so were fresh and hot, but the thai food looked like it was from the previous nights dinner. Coffee was warm and bread dry. I toasted the croissants to make them edible, but lush homemade jam. Numerous staff but disorganised. The cocktail bar was random, ordered at the bar but it was for show, all drinks made away from view in the hotel. The shuttle to town was not often enough in the day and finished way too early, 21.20. Paying for a tuktuk from 'longtail boat' corner or midway up the street was 150Bt. This has the making of a fab small resident hotel. It just needs tweaked and some money invested in the staff.…
This our 5th visit to this hotel so it must be good. I have been in the customer service business for 40 years and have been lucky enough to stay at nice hotels around the world. From the moment we checked in and were welcomed by the staff and given a lovely cake everything is great. All staff without exception are friendly and go out of there way to please. The hotel is about a 40 minute walk to the beach but the hotel does provide a regular shuttle. Ao Nang beach is nothing special but there are lots of small islands you can get a long tail boat to, Railey beach is also very nice. There are plenty of nice restaurants near to the hotel and in Ao Nang. The rooms in the hotel are very large, all ground level and spotlessly clean, with a king sized bed which in our opinion is very comfortable. The view from the lovely pool over the mountain is the best view from a pool that I’ve very seen. The breakfast is good for a small hotel and has everything we need. We book direct with the hotel by email, Nat the manager always replies within a day. I would recommend this hotel and hopefully will be back next year.…
Having just fallen in love with koh Lanta and our previous resort, we wondered how we would now find our new place to stay at Phu Petra. However from the minute we arrived we were checked in with ease , left our bags in luggage store , to then dash off on their courtesy shuttle ‘truck’ ( cute and authentic - driven by the lovely ‘ Lip’ also bellboy of hotel ) to get to meet friends on Railey beach. I thought our ‘family hillside villa’ ( as big as it was and a beautiful bathroom ) had 2 separate bedrooms, but it was my error, so I approached reception to see if there was anything we could do. They promptly sorted the situation with a small charge to move to the pool side ‘family suite ‘ this was an amazing area of space, and as the next day was my sons Birthday they lavishly decorated it with Balloons , banners and a birthday cake towel with flashing fairy lights !! Along With a real cake too ! But what I rate this place for the most is not just being a ‘number’ and the staff being so personable in every way . This place is out of the main strip which I was so glad of, the view of mountains , palm trees and sounds of nature made this peaceful yet so accessible to everything else. The staff would sort anything and everything from trips we had found , to checking on our 15 and 11 year old when we decided to climb tiger temple, and they stayed at resort. I read about firm beds ... you are in Thailand!! they are so much better for you , but the offer to put toppers on is there if you want softer ! The key here is kindly mention anything and they will do their best to help , no point moaning after the event ! Thank you so much phu Petra , Mr Nat , Doy and the team, you were fabulous . Please do not miss going to ‘The Beer Garden’ over the road , we went by default and returned so Many times , seeing the lovely ‘Nani’ and ‘Nit Noy ‘ who served us . Fab food , and so reasonable In price. We also used the lady at the end of the Road for laundry ! This is our first experience of Thailand and moving around - normally it’s Tui , one button and one booking .... but this was so easy and loved every minute. …
We had a wonderful stay at the Aounag Phu Petra resort! The hotel is located in calm, beautiful surroundings and still near everything. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the main street and near the beach. We loved the beautiful villas, the rooms are very clean an we loved how they were designed and furnished. Nice pool, good restaurant and all the staff is very helpful, serviceminded and kind. I would love to come back again!
Pro’s: * Nice big room * Nice big bathroom with both shower and bath * Stunning view from pool area * Lovely to hear rooster in the morning * Location in jungle nice and shuttle service every hour was convenient Cons: * Stained bed sheets (didn’t smell dirty, just had various different stains all over them) * Extremely hard, uncomfortable mattress, I’ve never experienced a hotel (in Thailand or the world) with such hard beds * Gaps in the door let mosquitos in so we had to leave Aircon on all night and use lots of anti-mosquito spray to not get eaten alive * Insect droppings of some type on the pillow when we checked in and large spider on the wall - but difficult to avoid this in jungle setting, fixing gaps in doors would help * Aircon was pretty noisy so we had to wear earplugs * Mould on bath was off-putting * Each little house accommodates 2 rooms but the partition wall between them is so thin you can hear someone gently clearing their throat in the room next door, and you can fully hear conversations happening at normal volume * All of staff struggled to understand basic requests made in English so we had to keep repeating ourselves (e.g. “2 Diet Coke please” had to be repeated 3 times before it was understood) and so we often just gave up on requests * There was also a trainee that would run after us every time we came back to the hotel asking in broken English whether we were checking out the next morning. We booked in advance and stayed 5 nights so this routine got boring quickly The hotel could be really great value if they just invested in new linen, a better mattress, a mosquito net across the door and trained staff.…
