My family and I have just returned after a very special 7-day/6-nights stay at the Fairmont Sirru Fen Fushi resort. The resort exceeded our expectations in almost every way. Although it takes an hour's seaplane journey to get there from the capital, Male, it is well worth it - and if you're lucky you will have wonderful views from the seaplane. We loved the location, our beautiful villas (4 nights in Sunrise beach villas and our last 2 nights in the Sunrise over-water villas), and some fantastic snorkeling, but what I want to really give this resort the highest rating for is the caring, friendly staff who went out of their way to make our stay truly memorable. Even though they were all working very hard, their smiles and warmth was genuine and heartfelt. It was also really great to see a mini-world within the staff who represent literally every corner of the world - Maldives, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Australia, France, Italy, Moldova, Czech Republic, Uzbekistan, Russia, Egypt, to name just some of the many countries represented among those who work at the resort! I would like to specially thank all the following staff for their care and attention: our villa host Shaffaf was always on-call and did his best to cater to our every wish. We greatly enjoyed special meals prepared for us by chefs Ranjit (fantastic Bengali fish curry!), Suranga (a heavenly Sri Lankan meal), Gopa (who prepared a wonderful Kerala dish for us), Gavi (who whipped up an amazing seafood dinner at Azure restaurant for my parents' 60th wedding anniversary), the Indonesian chef at the Kata Japanese restaurant, and Mortada, our wonderful pizza chef who also turns out great naans and other Indian rotis! In addition, all of these management, restaurant staff, and bartenders/baristas were super-attentive and caring: Ashok, Gamal, Aadam, Vikas, Ajay (who concocts fantastic mixed drinks!), Sagar (excellent coffees), Vaishak, Roxie, Catherine, Bunyod, Alex, Adam, Kessi. We would also like to appreciate the incredible floral bed decorations by Akey, and Vicky and other housekeeping staff's work to keep our villas spotless and well provided. Finally, Shifan and Vikas gave us a very interesting tour of the Coralarium museum, taking extra care to support my octogenarian mother so that she, too, could enjoy the visit. Our party of seven people ranged in age from 25 to 88 years, and the resort staff were able to cater to all our needs, including providing a wheelchair when we needed one. Vacationing at the Fairmont Sirru Fen Fushi is worth every penny we paid. If there is one thing we would recommend changing to improve an already wonderful experience it would be the choice of music played at the restaurants - we're not big fans of trance/house/new age music and would have loved more variety (consider jazz, soul, blues, soft rock, R&B, Bollywood hits, Hindustani classical...)! Final recommendations: try to experience both the beach and over-water villas as they are both wonderful in different ways. Try to go when there's likely to be a full moon during your stay - we had 2 absolutely amazing night skies! And go for the all-inclusive package if you want the best deal for food and beverages. Be prepared for unexpected changes to seaplane timings and allow extra travel time - don't cut it too fine, especially if traveling with older folks in your party. Thank you again to our caring, friendly, wonderful Fairmont Maldives friends for making our trip such a memorable one!

1 First of all what attracted me to this resort was the bungalow over water they had which I can say its quiet nice but outside area needs to be re polished Second, it was the package of all inclusive they were offering (which was complete lie) Normally when you go to resort and specially in maldives you would prefer all inclusive as you are literally stuck in the island, so to have peace of mind and avoid surprises which overload your budget you will prefer to have this option of all inclusive My 1 star giving to this resort is as follow All inclusive was just a lie, many things including minibar in the room wasn't included which is nonsense and a shame, imagine you can have a cola in the restaurants but in the room are chargeable with 7++$, even if you say its resort policy, still not justified (its abusing) Also the food quality was extremely terrible and no variety from what included in the package or even the chargeable menu Sea food restaurant was barely ok and most of its options are additional charge Japanese restaurant was nothing as Japanese looks like, even there additional charges menu, they couldn't make a proper sushi !! Their raha market restaurant (buffet) only thing good about it was Mortada the chief which was taking care of us but the rest were disappointing No variety of food selection, poor quality and bad service This island didnt have anything which I can say was unique or worth to visit again And also, my butler Azim was completely useless , not interested and careless I have been to maldives before and other resorts quality was an main thing to provide.. This resort just a brand nothing more I felt pity for whoever came to this resort for special event.. for me was refreshment for my honeymoon and they didn't even care Room service wasn't up to level, imagine they didn't replace the soap for 5 nights I stayed there !! You feel with amenities they have in the room like its a 2 star hotel No etiquette in dealing with guests , basic things they don't know same stupid questions they keep asking you about your package in addition to keep remind that this and this is additional charges!! In general i enjoyed my stay based on my previous experience in maldives and other resorts I ve been to, I spent it in relaxing and snorkeling But I wouldn't felt to do anything else as nothing was encouraging, bad service doesn't give you the feeling to spend money in such place Even i wouldn't have my bicycles on first day I arrived and I had to ask for it!! Which my bad butler said based on availability (I dont care about availability, I have the right to have it, availability its your bad management problem not mine!!) The funny thing is that after I got it, it got stolen 2 times!! And they replaced it with another one which was damaged!! And btw.. thanks for free floating breakfast after I complained.. but sorry that will not change my experience about this resort / brand Conclusion.. DONT RUINE YOUR VACCINATION TO COME TO THIS RESORT, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!
