We used the Gables as a base when visiting our daughter at uni for the weekend and were not let down. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was great. Everyone was very friendly and it is nicely set on the outside of Lincoln itself (a taxi was about £7 into town). We will definitely be using The... More

Great place good location. Rooms clean and tidy. Free WiFi. Hilary and David are friendly and welcoming. And for me breakfast was the highlight, day one was smoked haddock on a bed of spinach topped with a poached egg day two eggs benedict with smoked salmon superb.

Just returned from a one night stay after visiting for a family bereavement. Booked via booking.com we asked for a specific room which was done without any drama and were even offered an early check in prior to arrival to help us administer ourselves which was greatly appreciated. The Gables is on a main road with great access into Lincoln... More

We wanted to spend a weekend in Lincoln, but didn't want to stay at an impersonal hotel. We spotted The Gables, which although it's a few miles from the centre of the city, provided a great base. We were warmly welcome by David and given plenty of helpful information. Our room was very comfortable and had all the amenities needed,... More

Everything went smoothly, checked in, very helpful and friendly host, gave us plenty of info. Lovely property, spotless, nice comfy bed, plenty of pillows, decent coffee, hot chocolate, tea, little biscuits etc, even fresh milk out of the nearby fridge. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, freshly cooked to order. My husband went for the full english and I had scrambled... More

We arrived late afternoon and was welcomed and shown to our accommodation. We had use of one of the flats that were separate from the main building. We were straight away impressed with the setup. We were in the upstairs flat which consisted of 2 bedrooms with king size beds, a bathroom, a large living room with 2 massive comfy... More

Needed somewhere to stay for the night and haven't done B&B for years, so were a little wary. There certainly was no need for the concerne, everything was as others have said before, clean, comfortable and excellent breakfast. We were allocated the ground floor apartment which has a small kitchenette area, so useful if you want to cater for yourselves.... More

We were very wary about staying in a bed & breakfast establishment because we always stay in 4/5 star hotels. We shouldn't have worried, our fears were completely unfounded. A very comfortable room with excellent amenities, and the owners were very helpful with luggage, directions and recommendations. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, we would certainly stay here again.

The attention to detail at this B and B is exceptional! Easy to find and park. Warm welcome. So many thoughtful additions in the bedroom. In all my travels I have never found a mini whisk in a bedroom to ensure your hot chocolate is frothy as opposed to one with yucky lumps in it! There was one here! For... More
