My SachaJí is a hillside retreat in the heart of the Andean region of Imbabura. A pioneer both in wellness and sustainability, My SachaJí has a breath-taking view of a volcano and lake, imbuing the property with a unique natural energy. With only 11 rooms My SachaJí is intimate and peaceful, with outstanding service. The accommodations, nestled subtly into the hillside, can be adapted to various configurations. All feature a private bathroom, and either a chimney or energy efficient heating system. We offer mainly organic gourmet cuisine, (free breakfast included) with many of the ingredients coming fresh from our own vegetable garden. As well as a Jacuzzi with stunning views, we offer a range of treatments, including reiki massage, Andean cleansing, and Kundalini yoga. My SachaJí is the perfect springboard to explore the surrounding area, from the nearby volcanos and lakes on foot or horseback, to the local market town of Otavalo, historic haciendas, sacred sites, and attractions in Quito. Adventure activities like mountain biking can also be arranged.

We stayed there for 3 days in December and it was great experience. Lot of great activities for children. The staff is very helpful and ensures that you are very well taken care of.

Some great hiking trails add to the fun. The local guide for hiking was very knowledgeable of the trails.

Overall, highly recommended.

We were in Ecuador for 16 days September - October 2016. Visited the Galapagos, Jungle and other sites and booked 2 days at Sacha Ji as a birthday celebration for my wife at the end of our trip. In many ways this was one of the highlights of our trip. Sachi Ji sits at the very top of the hillside above San Pablo del Lago, close to Otavalo but far enough away where you touch nature and some of the most awesome views we have seen. The staff in particular Luis, Denise, Elizabeth and everyone there were incredible. They were gracious and always thinking about us and how to make us feel comfrotable. Sacha Ji is a wellness focused destination, the food was exceptional and mostly orgainic, as they maintain their own gardens. The yoga studio was beautifullly liad out and our room room had a fireplace which the staff lit each night while we were out. In addition to yoga there are other services available such as - message, reflexology etc. and an outdoor spa with a view of the mountains and valley. Just being at Sacha Ji brings at feeling of connection to nature, beauty, harmony and the history of the Otavalo area. Absolutely gorgeous and Sacha Ji is relatively new, go there before it becomes so popular that it will be difficult to reserve.

My wife and I spent three days in Sacha Ji last month. The place is fantastic and the view of lake San Pablo and Imbabura volcano is breathtaking. We loved the architectural concept and the environmental friendliness of the Hotel. The room was very confortable and clean. We loved the fire stove and the hot-water bottles that kept the bed nicely warm at night. Food was delicious and healthy, prepared with organic vegetables from the property's garden. Herbal teas were also very enjoyable. The Yoga session and the massage were both great and very relaxing for the mind, soul and body. The Jacuzzi and polar bath were definitively one of the highlights as was the walk around the property guided by the hotel administrator. The Hotel staff were very friendly, professional and ready to accommodate all our requests. I particularly liked the fact that they are all locals from the surrounding towns that have been carefully trained to make your stay a very pleasant one. We hope to being able to go back in the not too distant future.

SachaJi reminds me of Tulum, Mexico - in the best way. It's an even more hidden gem in the middle of the Andes that offers absolutely stunning views, great cuisine and an inviting and welcoming atmosphere. Not to mention yoga classes and great hiking. Go here!

10 Stars all around. A most phenomenal discovery in an area of Ecuador previously unknown by us - Otavalo region. The quality of everything is off the charts. The setting defies description. It is a combination of very intimate B&B, high quality food, furnishings, personnel, but enough space for privacy. Luis, who anyone who has read these reviews, is as good a host as one could ever want. With humility and an ever present smile, there is no request that goes unfulfilled. He set us up with a brilliant guide named Washington who met us at the airport. I could go on and on but anyone reading this i offer two words - JUST GO!

Spectacular views, beautiful layout of the property. the accommodations were top notch. We began our mornings practicing yoga in a room with a gorgeous mountain view, then had breakfast on the terrance with organic fruits and vegetables from their organic garden. The garden itself is brilliant with gardeners that very knowledgeable and give you tours, the Quinoa field was my favorite.
The Local town Octavalo was charming and has an amazing market with may cultural item to chose from. As well as local cuisine like Cuyi which is a must try.
I look forward to a return visit soon my experience here was one to remember both spiritually and culturally.

I couldn't have been more impressed by the atmosphere at Sacha Ji. It's clearly obvious that design and beauty was in the forefront of the design of the grounds and structures. Every space seems to flow into the environment seamlessly and the energy of the mountains only serves to compliment it all.

Every member of staff was attentive and truly seemed to care about doing a good job and making sure we were all happy and taken care of.

The first thing that strikes you as you arrive at Sacha Ji is the spectacular view of Lago San Pablo and the giant green volcanoes of Cotacachi and Cuicocha which rise above it. You will be hard pressed to find a better view, in this region that offers some of the best views of the Central Andes. We were warmly welcome as we marveled at the amazing architecture of Sacha Ji. I was impressed by the eco-friendly 'earth-ship' architecture of the place as, well as how invitingly warm and open the place feels, again with those spectacular views. Maria Teresa, who built and owns Sacha Ji, has created the perfect environment for those who want to truly relax and enjoy my favorite place in the Ecuadorian highlands, the Otavalo region. Maria also has a degree in photography and one can enjoy workshops on this, yoga and wellness. While it is an ideal for workshops and family get togethers, couples and singles will also enjoy the place because of the way the grounds are laid out with cozy earth ship bungalows spread throughout the grounds where you can find more privacy. My wife enjoyed the morning's optional yoga class in the large studio provided and the food is excellent and very healthy. The staff will gladly guide you on walks, both through the grounds and gardens or higher up on the hill for an even more spectacular views. The famed Otavalo indigenous market is minutes away as are visits to places like Peguche, with its weavers and waterfall, or some of the areas well known haciendas. For ultimate star gazing the new Jacuzzi, promises to be as good and as relaxing as it gets! Sacha Ji offers a truly spectacular setting in modern, state-of-the-art-eco-friendly and comfortable accommodations. A spectacular home away from home in which to let the cares of the world slip away.

There are no words to describe this breathtaking retreat...but I will try! Stepping into the welcoming room, you are met with soft music floating through the air and panoramic views just out the wall full of floor-ceiling windows that allow sunlight to stream through, warming the space. Overlooking San Pablo lake and volcanic peaks just across the valley, have a glass of wine on the balcony as the sun paints a magnificent masterpiece as it sets. The rooms are elegantly comfortable and there is no better rest than the sleep you will relax into underneath the soft, fluffy comforters. With South America's largest traditional market, stunning hikes, small artisan communities, horseback riding, crater lakes, and more within minutes, there are plenty of adventures to keep you occupied. Make sure to take a stroll through the gardens. The food is incredible, the staff is warmly welcoming, and the surroundings are spectacular.

With the arrival of the new airport, you can reach Sacha Ji just as quickly as you could downtown Quito...what a way to recover from travel!! This is a wonderful space to relax into before a Galapagos cruise or excursion into the Amazon. Don't miss it!!!!!
