We stayed at cold cotes for 2 nights (7th and 8th July), what an excellent stay at this accommodation, the owners were really lovely and very helpful .
The service the owners gave was exceptional, when we arrived at the accommodation Sue brought us warm scones and jam which went down a treat, they were delicious, and really much apprecitaed
Each morning after a delicious breakfast we was given a slice of cake for our day ahead which was so lovely.
Could not fault the accommodation at all it was spotlessly clean and very spacious. Hand sanitiser in the hallway when you went in for breakfast.
lovely touches to the room,,fresh milk and bottles of water in the fridge daily, bath robes in the shower room plus The White Company toiletries in the shower room which smelt beautiful, and chocolates on the pillow when we arrived, things like this go a very long way, and shows that the owners take pride and give the extra little touches.
The window had a fly net which was very well thaught of so we could keep the windows open knowing no flies would come in.
location was excellent it was in a very quite setting away from all the hussle and bustle the setting of the accomodation was beautifully planned out, but only 10 minutes into Harroagate. which we went on the last night, we ate in a lovely greek restuarant called Saranda bar and grill which was exceptional and the staff were lovely and very friendly.
Couldnt fault the accomadation and the staff we will definately be back

Wonderful bed and breakfast a short drive (6 miles)from Harrogate. We booked direct with the owners and could choose our room as they had just reopened after the winter. We had room 6 which was a suite and was a huge room with everything you could need including iron and ironing board, fridge and hairdryer. The decor and furnishings were really lovely and the room was so comfortable with a king size bed and large wardrobe. The bathroom was big and had a walk-in shower as well as a bath. The toiletries were all white company. We stayed for just 1 night and were welcomed with a tea/ coffee tray and scones with butter and jam.
We had a lovely breakfast in the morning in the dining room which was such a nice room with beautiful crockery and decor. Breakfast is chosen the previous evening from a menu and you can select the time that you want it. Staff and owners were all lovely and friendly and they have got it all just right. Would definitely recommend and would love to return in the summer.

We stayed for 3 nights in room 4, friends in room 5. Probably just repeating what has been said in the other reviews but is indeed a great place to stay. We are fairly picky but found Cold Cotes to be very clean, fresh with great attention to detail. Great team here all very friendly and couldn't be more helpful from check-in to departure. Honesty bar and lounge a very nice touch as well and great breakfasts too with home made produce and cakes!. Not a great phone signal but out with the control of the B&B. WiFi was also a bit patchy but may have been caused by the temporary loss of TV signal due to a damaged local transmitter. The hosts did a sterling job of providing fire sticks etc to alleviate this but folks using more WiFi via iPlayer and the like may have contributed to the patchy WFi. Very highly recommended and we hope to return in the future.

This is an excellent B&B located in the quiet countryside about 5 miles from Harrogate. The room we stayed in was spacious, well furnished and the bed was large and very comfortable. The bathroom was also spotless.
Breakfast was varied and all of it very delicious (cooked to perfection by Mark). I particularly enjoyed the "Ramirez" sandwich. A sandwich with 4 rashers of bacon...what could be wrong with that!!!
Our experience at the Cold Cotes was greatly enhanced by the welcoming hosts. Such a delight. Sue helped us with her local knowledge which meant we visited all the beauty spots in and around Harrogate and ate dinner at the best restaurants. Cannot thank her enough.
We would definitely recommend the Cold Cotes to anyone and we wouldn't dream of booking any other accommodation on our return to Harrogate.
Keep up the great work Sue and Mark!

We stayed for 5 nights from 13 July at this peaceful and beautiful location close to Harrogate with plenty of places to visit nearby such as Bolton Abbey and good selection of walks. Sue , Mark and the breakfast ladies are fantastic friendly hosts the breakfast is amazing with plenty of choice, home made jams and we loved Sue's breakfast trifle. Room 8, a large ground floor room had everything you could need for a very comfortable & luxury stay dressing gowns, hairdryer, White Company toiletries, fridge stocked with water and fresh milk for your tea/coffee, with a lovely outside seating area. It was very hot 30c when we stayed having the fly screens at the windows meant you can leave these open all day having an electric fan available was an added bonus. Our first stay and we will be back after a very relaxing stay at this fantastic accommodation

We stayed four days in the area and enjoyed visiting Harrogate and Saltburn on Sea.

Lovely location out in the country but near to two fabulous restaurants and not far from Harrogate town centre.

We stayed in number 7 which has a quirky layout, entrance hall with large wardrobe and bathroom and stairs to a beautiful bedroom.
Suggest leaving suitcase down in the wardrobe where there is ample space to hang coats and clothing with a huge shelf to put folded clothes. Then you can use the hall as a dressing area. Tea, coffee and water supplied as well as biscuits and slices of cake.
A lot of thought has gone into the furnishings and the bed was huge and very comfortable.
Nothing was too much trouble and breakfast was lovely.

We were invited by Sue the owner for breakfast. We all had a full English myself & my husband had poached egg & it was cooked to perfection. After breakfast we were then showed the accommodation it was like home from home. Lovely big rooms & the decoration was outstanding. Had a little walk round the gardens beautiful sheep in the next field. A little hidden gem would highly recommend here.

Just back from our third visit to Cold Cotes. It really is our ‘go to’ place in this part of the world.
The location in a stunning rural spot is ideal for visiting the many attractions in the Yorkshire Dales and also for visiting the shops, restaurants and theatres in Harrogate.
Sue and Mark are the perfect hosts and are keen to make sure you have everything you need for the perfect break.
The rooms are spotless, comfortable and furnished with beautiful accessories. Little touches like a fridge in the room with fresh milk and bottles of water are very welcoming not to mention the home made cake offered for ‘take out’!
There is a wide choice for breakfast and all the food is of high quality and the hot choices cooked to order.
We highly recommend Cold Cotes and shall definitely return in the not too distant future.

My husband & I booked to stay for 3 nights for 3 reasons; firstly the rave reviews, secondly the COVID19 measures which the owners (Mark & Sue) had put in place together with all suites being solely accessible from outdoors and thirdly because we love the Dales and needed a mini break! We chose our suite from the descriptive photos online and loved it; spacious with plenty of mirrors, great bathroom, fridge, artwork, general decor (reflecting the great taste of Sue) and hypo-allergenic bedding specially put in the room as I suffer from allergies. The amazing barn where the "breakfast" room is located is decorated with colour and funkiness and once again reflects Sue's unique flair when it comes to decor. The tables had been well spaced in line with COVID19 rules & regs and guests are allocated a table for the duration of their stay. By putting your breakfast requirements (& time) in the previous evening, everything is ready & waiting for you on "your" table when you sit down and your breakfast choice is cooked to order! I am a veggie bordering on a vegan but this was not a problem at all for Mark & Sue! Being high-powered business people in their previous careers, they run Cold Cotes in a super professional yet extremely friendly & efficient manner. They are absolutely fabulous hosts and we just loved our stay with them and will be back! A million thanks for such outstanding hospitality xxx

I am unsure but I don't remember seeing any bus stops nearby....
Answer from Jonathan M

Yes a couple of miles by car. Unfortunately no pub that I can remember within a short walking distance. For meals we did the fish and chip restaurant that's on trip advisor and there is loads and a decent starter. We also went to the Turkish restaurant. I was disappointed with the food I had but others around were enjoying I guess not really to my taste. There is a jazz pub in Harrogate we also ate at, the music on the stage I front of us made the evening good honest place great ales and good food. All the best 👍
