Stayed here for a night on the way down to the Languedoc. We had a choice of rooms and opted for the room in the attic which was big and quirky. The whole house is lovely and has been restored beautifully and so full of character. Breakfast was good and we were made to feel very welcome.

My husband, two children and I stayed at the Masion du Dr Vassaux on our last night in France. At just 40 mins' drive from Dieppe, it made a convenient final stop on our journey. The house has a unique history coming from the friendship between its former owner Dr Vassaux and his childhood friend, Matisse, who was a regular...

This is a hotel of great character and great age with old tile floors, aged wooden doors. The hotel is situated close the centre of this most picturesque old Normandy village, ideally situated for a stopover travelling through Normandy. Bedrooms, living and breakfast rooms are Tastefully decorated with some minor quirks. The owner Mr Blondel is very welcoming and will...

We really enjoyed our overnight stop at le Maison du Dr Vassaux. It is a Gite full of character and history and our welcome from M. Blondel was incredibly warm and friendly. The beds were comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. There is a little work to do on the showers due to limescale deposits in the jets,...

The Maison du Dr Vassoux is a lovely old house which has been equipped and decorated in a creative style, I'm guessing by the charming proprietor. It's not for the old or infirm, as the stairs to the bedrooms are narrow and winding, but everyone else can expect highly individual rooms furnished with an eclectic mix of antique and modern....

The host was wonderful, made us feel at home. The rooms very spacious and clean. We had a room for us and one for the kids with 2 bathrooms. Breakfast was delicious and the host was very friendly and took all the time to tell us what areas he recommended us to visit.

We overnighted here on a drive from SW France to NE England. It's very handy for the autoroute near Rouen. The place is the antithesis of the chain hotel. We stayed on the top floor. Lying in the electrically adjustable bed you can reflect on the ancient artisanal skills shown in the pegged oak roof trusses. The ceiling's quite low...

We found this B&B via www.stopoverconnections.com and it is off Junction 11 of the A28 about a two hour drive from Calais. There are three rooms and the price was £70 for a double with B&B. M Jean- Marie Blondel the owner also offers an excellent three course dinner including wine and cider for Euro 18 pp. Jean-Marie was a...
