A local pub for us, one we tend to take for granted ! But we rate it as a particularly nice 'Pub in Suffolk'. We have had a couple of dinners and several lunches there recently, Some friends visited us on 27 June, one of our group suggested we go out to eat in the evening, I put foreword the... More

Just returned from a short stay in Orford. One of our many visits but we never leave without making our pilgrimage to the Jolly Sailor. A stone's throw from the Quay it is a traditional fisherman's haunt where you get a sense that not much has changed since smugglers strolled up from the quay! There are some contemporary updates of... More

Stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of the month. Really nice room ,tv,big settee and nice ensuite. Breakfast was first class and we enjoyed a lovely evening meal outside in the sun. No noise at all at night. Would reccomend and return

When in Orford and walking down to the waterside it would be rude not to call in at the Jolly Sailor for a swift pint with friendly locals and bar staff. Although we did not stay there we know that they also offer rooms

Spent Saturday night at The Jolly Sailor, dog friendly, staff couldn't do enough for us,food on Saturday night was superb, the Fish and Chips was to die for. The breakfast was also superb and of course the Adnams was the usual standard, an excellent place, we will be back. If you have a dog, ask for the Garden Room, with... More

We spent 4 nights here and it proved to be a very enjoyable stay. Good sized room and bathroom. Good food in a friendly pub atmosphere. Excellent area for walking. Not far from Snape Maltings and Aldeburgh. Iken church has a part thatched roof and is well worth a visit.

Sometimes pub B&B’s disappoint but this one did not. The room was very well presented, spotlessly clean and attractive, with a sofa and comfortable double bed. We liked the deep roll top bath. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We had an early start to join a boat trip and we had arranged an early breakfast – which was a... More

We have just stayed overnight at the Jolly Sailor (Friday/Saturday) and found it to be a fantastic experience from the moment we arrived. Our room was lovely, clean and warm which was very welcome as it was pouring with rain and very chilly. The entire Inn has a lovely quirkiness about it with bags of historical character. The staff are friendly... More

Lovely location to stay in. Room was not huge but well furnished and very clean. Bathroom very spacious but no shower. Breakfast excellent and other food of good quality and locally sourced. Would have liked a jug or shower attachment for hair washing but apart from that it was all good.
