this was one of the most beautiful resorts we have ever been fortunate enough to visit! it's our 4th visit to the maldives and our 7th hotel we have been to. what a magical place! we felt like we were in a dream. the villas are to die for and leave you wanting for nothing. we started in a beach villa, which was the nicest we have ever seen. then, we moved to a water villa for two nights and we enjoyed it even more. there is just something truly special about water villas and one of the reasons to travel half way around the world to this beautiful country. we saw several manta rays the first day and the view of the aquamarine colored water from every room is simply surreal. the attention to detail is unbelievable and even just riding the bikes on the jetty to dinner is an incredible experience. i'm not sure what i can say that everyone else hasn't already but one of our favorite things about this gorgeous destination is the incredible people. our butler (aka magician) sameen was flawless!! we went for my husband's 60th birthday and he pulled out all the stops to make the trip perfect and memorable. we have never experienced such extraordinary customer service!!! sameen thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything to did to make our vacation ridiculously amazing! soake restaurant was honestly one of the most spectacularly stunning restaurants we have ever seen. the food was incredible and the wagyu beef was insanely good! we had a private dinner in the manta ray tree house, some wonderful yoga sessions with anna in the over water yoga pavilion, snorkelled with turtles with christian and his awesome team, to die for massages at the spa, and yummy lunches at maru where we were treated like royalty by prasad bartender extraordinaire, the amazing zadan, and reema & sushmitha too! thank you! a few others we would be remiss to not mention are chef ashley, (bruno) umars, Ismail (who actually holds his breath underwater diving for over 5 minutes!) shiraz & gandip!! i hope we didn't miss anyone as virtually every staff member there were the most incredible at their craft. GM steven was wonderful and has amassed the best team. so grateful!!! trish & angelo

Hotel's Favorite
Absolutely loved our stay at this relatively new resort , no expense has been spared and every little detail oozes class. The staff are possibly the most friendly and efficient i have ever encountered anywhere in the world , and simply refuse to say 'no' to any request .We stayed in an over water sunset villa which was very spacious , luxuriously appointed and had all the modern touches , all controlled by an Ipad . Breakfast is very good with excellent selection of hot and cold options , lunch we normally took at the Mura bar and particularly enjoyed trying the local reef fish which was always so fresh and delicious , our favourite evening restaurant was Saoke , which has an amazing setting with baby sharks and ray swimming around just feet away from you - the food is also spectacular . My daughter adored the kids club , where the staff were brilliant -they also have movie evenings for the children which she particularly enjoyed . We all cant wait to return as soon as possible - many thanks to the whole Joali team for such a great stay !

Good afternoon! Thanks so much for your wonderful review. It was very much appreciated by the whole team here at Joali. It was particularly pleasing to read how much you enjoyed our villas, which are gaining amazing reputations for both their size and unique interior designs. We have been working hard on our breakfast offering after receiving advise from our guests and Saoke, our Japanese Restaurant is already one of the most popular of choices. Where possible we aim to use as much local produces as is possible, using our organic garden and also local fishermen. The Kids Club is also building a great reputation with the fantastic team there. We are continuing to ensure that we add more offerings, again after advise from our guests. Thank you once again and we would all be delighted to see you back with us at Joali. Cheers Steven

A special corner of this beautiful earth. Our first time to the Maldives and to Joali to celebrate our wedding anniversary and with our 6 year old in tow. We stayed at a luxury beach villa for 6 days rather than overwater villa, which was perfect with our son. The view out on to both the beach and the ocean every day was breathtaking. The private pool was a great size too. We cycled every day and the tricycle for our son was also well utilised. Apart from the quality and decor of the luxurious villas, the personalised service and friendly warmth of all the team as well as the daily sunsets that set the sky on fire, the real star features for us were the art installations - perfectly curated. This is also what sets the Joali apart from other resorts we were looking at. Even on days it rained, to idle some hours away sitting in the Manta Ray tree house was a privilege. A special mention also to the Japanese restaurant, Saoke. Every corner was meticulously crafted from the stone and wood lifted from Turkey and Thailand, to the viewing platforms above the shark-infested sea below to the cavernous ceilings above. The food was amongst some of the best Japanese we have tasted. As it is a relatively new entrant to the market, I hope that as its popularity grows, it does not lose the very special essence that has been created. We left a little bit of our hearts on this island and we look forward to visiting again one day.

Being regular visitors to the Maldives, we were very excited to visit the newly opened Joali. Believe the reviews, this place is absolute paradise! We stayed in both a beach and pool villa and have never seen rooms this luxurious in the Maldives, high ceilings, gorgeous furniture and every amenity you can imagine! We travelled with two children ages 1 and 2 and the team on the island were just fantastic, the pool and ocean access area in the villa were completely fenced off which gave us great peace of mind with the little ones running around. Our butler Eliza was wonderful and the children loved her too, insisting to sit up front and ‘drive’ with her on each trip. The food is fantastic everywhere, we ate at the Japanese three times! Breakfast is an occasion and the staff can not do enough for you...try the Mayfair cocktail at the pool bar, delicious! The whole island has a wonderful vibe, with the art installations such as the manta ray tree houses adding to the uniqueness of Joali. Thank you to the whole team for making our trip so perfect, we’ll be back!
