It is very rare in life that anything is perfect - Joali is ! It ticks all the boxes . From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, you will be truly spoiled . The quality of the villas are the best in the Maldives. No searching for light or drape switches, tv channels, temperature, etc , it's all controlled from a neat consumer friendly iPad . The towels are the thickest and most absorbent I have come across . There's an old joke about the bath robe being so fluffy I could hardly close my suitcase ! The 3 restaurants ( Mediterranean , Italian and Japanese ) offer the highest cuisine, exquisitely presented food with impeccable service. Chief chef Taylor will cater for any personal off menu requests . There is also an extensive choice of wines at sensible prices . My family and I actually ate at 8 different locations on the resort during our 17 day stay ! Privacy is easily found on the beautifully designed and appointed island . If you fancy being more active, dance lessons, water aerobics, yoga classes, 5-a-side football, tennis, all motorised water sports are readily available. The kids club is very well supervised and a renowned artist even teaches them clay modelling . As one expects in the Maldives, the scuba diving and snorkelling is unparalleled. The house reef is readily accessible from the water villas and an abundance of fish await your company . Joali is a new resort ( opened Oct '18 ) and the owner / operators give attention to every single detail. It is a class act ! Their goal is to make it the very best resort in the Maldives and personally having experienced 12 different resorts, it is already ! I’m struggling to find the right superbatives to describe my experience at this resort. We decided to elope to the Maldives for a beautiful hassle free ceremony with no talk of table centres or seating plans and it’s the best decision we could have made.
We carried out extensive research of reviews, images and pricing before deciding on Joali and our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. This was our first visit to the Maldives and having studies previous reviews which mentioned the rooms and staff being exceptional but non really mentioned that there would be so much to see and do. We quickly realised that there were so many activities that we hadn’t considered such as, water sports, Wine Tasting, Cooking classes and health spa to name just a few. Plus the fitness centre is very impressive compared to other hotel gyms i have used before. We only booked 5 days of our 3 week wedding / Honeymoon with Joali as we thought we’d get bored and this was a huge mistake I’d advice minimum of 7 but 10 would probably be ideal.
As mentioned this was our first time in the Maldives we were greeted at the airport with a huge smile by Ali. He was very welcoming. He took our bags offered refreshments and then accompanied us to the Joali lounge in a private car to wait for our seaplane. The Joali lounge was like a 5 star hotel lounge.
The seaplane journey to Joali took approximately 30 minutes. We were greeted by management and drummers with refreshments which lifted our mood again after 15 hours of travelling. Each guest / Room is assigned a Butler who I’d describe more accurately as a Host. He or she is introduced to you as you step off the seaplane and they are at your service from that point until you leave they have expert knowledge of the county and the resort. Our host was Vitu and we couldn’t thank him enough.
I can’t speak to service at other resorts as we’ve only been to Joali but the other people we spoke to who had visited other resorts did say that Joali was on another level. The images attached show a comparison of how the Joali pick up clients from the airport and it’s these slight details make a huge difference.

My family and I spent a glorious week at Joali. It was a much needed getaway and our experience was exceptional from start to finish.
Joali is breathtaking, with its crystal clear waters and its white sand beaches. But its magic extends beyond its beautiful location. Its magic lies in the attention to detail that can be found all throughout the resort, from our villa, to the food, and the activities.

It’s how they anticipate what we want and need so we don’t even have to ask. My fiancé and I spent a wonderful 7 days in Joali as our first visit to the Maldives. In short the resort is a phenomenal experience and I would highly recommend it if you are fine with the price.
Our criteria included:
Decent diving reviews: We are both advance certified and wanted somewhere with good access to dive sites. We went on 3 morning dives in total and it was a great experience, 2 divers to 1 dive master, nice boat and high quality equipment
Good food: We wanted at least 4 restaurants to rotate over the 7 days. We have heard from friends that food in the maldives can be sub-par given everything needs to be imported and hotel chains often cut corners. Joali doesnt cut corners, breakfast is amazing, very high quality produce, meats and fruits throughout. Make sure you spend a Friday there, their buffer dinner is awesome. We were very happy with all the restaurants we ate at, the italian restaurant was average.
Villa: October was just just getting off the rainy season so we wanted a nice big villa so that we could still enjoy the day if we were stuck inside. The villa is just like advertised, go check it out on youtube. Very high ceiling, finishings are very tasteful
Joali met our expectations and much more, which is a high standard given the price. We loved the attention to detail on every aspect of the customer experience, everything meticulously thought over and the premium option selected, whether that be the finishings in the room, books at the spa, produce in at the buffet, down to the hand soaps, we fully appreciate the little details with no corners cut. As a relatively new resort, we hope they can maintain the high level of standard in their service, supply chain and through the wear and tear.

Truly astonished by the 5 star reviews. Yes Joali is luxurious but it is like sitting at the airport all day long. Your villa vibrates non stop and whilst you sit at the beach / pool the amount of fumes from the seaplanes landing frequently is unbelievable. There is no lifeguard which I found really surprising and not acceptable especially with kids around. The staff are all lovely but they don’t get a day off a week so they are all exhausted. There is no delivery service for room service your butler brings your meal sometimes with no cutlery no set up. The two bedrooms have a huge gap above both doors making privacy an issue. You can feel how tired the staff are for example the same person will be on late shift at dinner and then at breakfast at 7am of course they can’t function they are only human and this is then reflected in the service. I personally have a problem being able to enjoy my holiday when I know and feel that the staff have not had a day off in weeks or possibly months although they claim they are happy with this. The kids club is miserable. The vibe was very off! Reading the reviews obviously this hotel is adored by many it’s down to personal taste. If you wish to swim from your beach villa good luck you might seriously injure yourself. On arrival you sign so many docs so they can’t be sued. The chef was a lovely man and generally everyone working is lovely they just need to be treated better by management. The smell from the staff village smells like dead animals I hurled on the way to breakfast daily. Music at the bar was a lovely touch. The pool is surrounded by stones and naturally every child wishes to play with them which is pretty dangerous. Everything in the hotel is from turkey as it is owned by a Turkish lady who makes sure she makes her money on absolutely everything you touch ( her own brand everything from linen to crockery to furniture everything!!!! Japanese restaurant food is crazy expensive and doesn’t match quality. $30 dollars for a scoop of tempura ice cream is a joke. We got a strange vibe that the hotel is bugged… somehow your private conversations and being listened to. Would I return.. I don’t think so but I do really appreciate the effort of the staff trying to make it as great as it could be.

Me and my husband just came back from our honeymoon at Joali, and what I can tell you is that this had been the best experience in our entire life.
After working more than 15 years at the travel & hospitality Industry, I can say that Ive had never had such a memorable experience as the one we had at Joali.
All team members (with no exception) made the difference in making each guest’s stay the most memorable as possible.
The gastronomy is superb and had exceeded our expectations in all ways, from breakfast to dinner we could see the special touch and flavors inspired by the chefs.
During our stay, we had the opportunity to be allocated at both beach and water villas and both of them are beautifully decorated in all minimum details (this without mentioning the breathtaking views provided by the blue and crystalline ocean).
The ladies from the SPA provided me and my husband an unique massage treatment making us feel extremely relaxed and ready for new adventures.
Our jadulgar (butler) Hayu was very fast and attentive to our requests, also giving us space and privacy that a honeymoon couple requires.
This brief review is just to say how thankful we are for have stayed at the JOALI, and we could keep writing about others details that also helped to make this a memorable experience, but no extra words could replace the awesome feelings that you need to experiment by staying at the JOALI.
Already looking forward to come back to the most magical island on the planet!!

The island is beautiful and the service is perfect, we had a water villa which was a Palace where we enjoyed overstaying day and night. Bicycle and buggy for going from one location to another are very convenient. I would say that I could compare this island to Cheval Blanc except that the complementary fruits (No cookies) in the room where not what you can expect at the level of prices that we are paying. The restaurants are just OK, not exceptional. Our butler Riyaz was absolutely perfect. Nevertheless we will not go back to Joali as we could not have a romantic peaceful dinner anywhere ,even at the pool, as the number of kids and babies is extremely high on the island. But of course it could be OK for people who don't care about that.

I haven’t written a review in two years mainly because no one wants to hear about my visits to 20 average 5* hotels , they all just roll in to one . Well my hibernation has ended and I found something sleek and refreshing ( it was either going to be JOALI or a rehab after 5 months at home ). I will be totally honest and say I was expecting good not world class but what I found is the food was a total dream as delicious as any top London restaurant consistently, rooms are immaculate and have pushed the bar even for me plus everyone on the island is so well polished in service levels it’s the one place I couldn’t complain . What makes this island different is the planning that has gone in to everything and it really shows I haven’t stopped getting questions from my clients of where I was . Full respect to the JOALI team for opening mid world pandemic and making it so flawless , you totally deserve to be at the top and I will continue to work hard so I can play hard and return . We plan for this trip in the last minutes … we talk to Janice from Zeldiva Luxury .. as our first time to booked throw agency for the Maldives . It was super nice experience with Janice she is very helpful .. she suggested that we booked with Joali After she known about our experiences in the Maldives resort.
Honestly, we were apprehensive about his experience, as it is considered one of the new hotels, but upon our arrival we were met by the hotel manager and he personally welcomed us and then took us butler Najah to our villa ( luxury over water villa sunset ) , Good and friendly treatment and a beautiful smile from all the staff especially Najah, made an excellent impression on us about the resort.
Because we wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary , thanks to Janice, the resort prepared a cake to celebrate this occasion and they also offered a free 60 minute couple massage
The villa: very luxurious, very comfortable, and the view is excellent, the swimming pool is one of the largest sizes in the Maldives resorts .. amazing
Food: very excellent, whether in different Japanese, Asian or Middle East restaurants, very delicious, breakfast was amazing with different options, even gluten free is available
Our flight was late.. They thankfully gave us a two-bedroom beach villa (photos attached) for free for about 3 hours.. The room contains two swimming pools and the view is very beautiful.
The resort is one of the most beautiful and luxurious resorts that I have visited, but there are some points that I would like to mention if they are taken into account, the rating of the hotel will raise to the best, for example: Privacy in a villa over the water: if the wooden barrier is increased to cover the tan chair area and not allow the jet-ski to pass through In front of the villa for privacy.
The beach villa has a beautiful privacy from the other villas, but the hotel's yacht stands in front of it, which does not make the privacy 100%, but the swimming pool can be used at the back of the villa, where the privacy is 100%

We got married in a lockdown, so we never had our honeymoon, when the travel ban was removed we went to Joali and celebrated our honeymoon/anniversary.
We did a lot of research and eventually we chose Joali, The reviews does not justify the beauty of this place! The villas are magical and super clean (we had beach villa then moved to overwater villa), the variety of food is amazing and super delicious, the art and every detail in the resort is magical. The staff! I don’t know how they did this, but everyone we encountered was just a breath of fresh air. They are warm and friendly you’ll feel like you have another family in Maldives. Arif (our Jadugar) who took care of everything for us during our stay with a smile. Xena (with her lovely soul and her lovely morning greetings), Julian and Mama in the spa, Burak, Yusri, Shefaz, and every single person there made our stay more than perfect. I would definitely recommend this resort.
