Stopped off at this great pub on a weekend walk with ex-colleagues in the beautiful Cheddar gorge. Having walked for over 3 hours over some pretty tough terrain and gasping for a pint I've never been so glad to see a pub. The barman and his mother were very welcoming and amusing, we had some great banter while we were... More

Stayed here one evening as we were meeting up the following day with friends who live in Coxley but should have realised from the outside what to expect on the inside Having booked we felt obliged to stay..a big mistake. Room 9 is apparently a dog friendly room, we had our dogs with us but even they did not want... More

Where do I start?????? Very warm & friendly welcome on arrival, seamless check-In & shown to our room (6) , We'd been awake since 03:30 and elected to have an early night (very comfortable bed) eating at the "Penscot"......which was lovely & washed down with a couple of ciders!! All the staff/family were friendly, helpful and attentive, nothing was too... More

First time that I have no shower in my hotel room. There is only an uncomfortable bath tub with 2 separate taps: one for the (very) hot water and one for the (very) cold one. MacGyver wasn't here. This is not a hotel, but a mid-low quality B&B in the middle of nowhere, priced at 89 pounds per night, which... More

food was excellent both evening meals and breakfast. Rooms are adequate, fairly small as to be expected in this type of building. Decor was rough and the bathroom was in need of a refurbish ! Free WiFi available in the main areas but did not reach our room.

More than adequete for a two night stay for a wedding. Lovely breakfast, a cosy bar and rooms that, while hardly glamarous, hvae all you need for a quick shower and change, then a sleep later on. Only issue was second morning the shower was scalding hot, which I've experienced at other B&Bs, maybe a pressure problem?! Not a major... More

Well.....we had originally booked at another BnB not far away but had been horribly let down at the last hour by a website misprint!! But it seems that the misprint actually did us the biggest favour as we then went on to book a room at Penscot inn. Thinking our short break had been scuppered we were delighted! I originally... The Penscot Inn is a really friendly little eatery. We visited for Lunch and the food was really lovely and very reasonably priced. The staff were also very friendly, even offering WiFi! A great place to stop by, and a good distance to Cheddar Gorge.
