I only stayed one night but have to say I felt like one of the family as soon as I arrived. The rooms are a good size (i had room 2). Mine looked over the road but very little noise as its a quiet road, The shower room is clean and the coffee machine is just outside the door of... More

Booked last minute as needed a short break. Small room, broken loo seat, light over mirror not working, main light in bedroom not working, only bedside ones. Not able to access wi-fi in bedroom, freeview signal for TV very flakey, no coffee/tea making facilities in the room just a coffee machine on the landing on a timer with out of... More

Car park only holds 4 cars without blocking anyone in, so bear that in mind if you're getting there late, or are precious about your car being nearby. It's an old-fashioned pub. Small dark rooms, but cosy. There's about 8 rooms up the stairs. Mine was a twin-bedded room with a sloping floor. Bathroom was 2 steps higher than the... More

I stayed one night and was apprehensive due to the negative comments. Ignore them, this is a great place. I got a warm welcome when I arrived, room was clean and well decorated, bed comfy, TV reasonable size. Real ale in bar was good and well priced. Food also good and plenty of it. Breakfast freshly cooked and good. Car... More

This place is a shambles. I booked for a 2 day stay but 2 days before I was rushed into hospital with a life threatening illness. My partner rang the next day to cancel and was told by the Assistant Manager not to worry. A week later, once discharged from hospital my credit bill was showing that we had been... More

and a "Why did I let HIM book the accommodation?" BUT, after the shock of the car-park leading into a very dark bar area, stepping back in time with a strong stench of old fires/cooking fat we were shown to our room. From 1st impressions of a 'bikers pub' it was better than I thought, fairly spacious and clean -... More

Don't do it, don't book to stay in this bed & breakfast. If payment hadn't been taken from my account when I booked this place back in January for my stay in March, I would have walked right out as soon as I had seen the state of this establishment. The smell of old dirty, hot oil in the fryers... More

My partner Lou and I frequently travel to Gunnislake to enjoy a Sunday roast at the Tavistock Arms. We're fortunate to be surrounded by nice pubs to eat in so I think it's a tribute to the Tavistock Arms that we prefer it over all the closer puts for our Sunday lunch. As some other reviewers have pointed out (with... More

Great food and very friendly. We had a good nights sleep in a comfy bed, nice warm shower. The locals are entertaining in the bar and they serve good beer :-) I have seen several reviews on here for this Hotel and think they are a little unfair. Yes the tv is only 14inch, but it's a bedroom what more... More
