having two bad experiences from other hotels, I found this hotel the best bang for the buck. here's why:
1. transparent - the management was so concerned about the noise; both from of the on-going repairs and the karaoke bar. We were offered the room with the least noise and granted our request that repairs start an hour late at 830 rather than the usual 730. the karaoke closes promptly at 12 midnight.
2. cheap - this is one of the cheapest and got the best room for the price of a standard in other hotels.
3. clean room - simple and clean and no musty smell. my criteria for a room is to inspect the airconditioning unit.
4. breakfast and dining is on the top floor. I enjoy local food and usually, whenever possible, buy the fish or seafood myself from the local market and usually have them prepared by the hotel's cook the local way of preparation. This hotel provided me that opportunity, bought those giant prawns and had fresh tuna. I also requested early packed breakfast at 600 am!
5. amazing staff - all very courteous and authentic smiles, from the cleaner to the checkin counter staff made my 11 days stay very comfortable and pleasant.
6. surprise - I arrived early morning way ahead of checkin time. without even requesting it, the management did not charge for early checkin.

Dont be bothered by location and the facade of the hotel as it does not look like a hotel from the outside as it is in the market area. Your experience will far outweigh the looks of this hotel from the outside.

Needed accommodation for 12 hours before catching a ferry the next day. There are stairs up to reception from the street (PWDs note). The impression is of a clean well appointed establishment. There is a cafe immediately to the left of reception. ₽1200 paid plus ₽500 refundable deposit. The room was small. Literally you could not swing a cat. The double bed occupied the width of the room. The space between bed and door was about 1.5mx0,7m the toilet/shower room is of similar dimensions accessed by sliding door. The cubical is glazed wall to ceiling with frosted glass. There was a TV but no remote. I operated it by buttons on the back of the set. BBC World News (channel 42). There were hooks on the wall and a single wooden coat hanger. The aircon was quiet and efficient. The bed clean and comfortable. I have never stayed in such a small room. It will not be my first choice in the future.

1st we booked last minute because we were looking for a place to sty since we reached Tabaco around 12 and planned to stay for less than 12 hours. Upon booking, they gave us an option for a large bed. But they insist that we booked a bunkbed type room. The rooms are SUPER small and stuffy. Like 2x2 sq mts. Generally, they are as big as bathrooms. The bed feels itchy and smells like an old room. No floor rugs for bathroom, cold shower at night and super hot water in the morning, and they say they have parking, there ain't no proper parking. You can park when tenants below closes their stores. And if you get really lucky, you get a knock at your door at 1AM from the guard asking you to move your car because a party goer who parked before you is leaving. I suggest, go to next hotel. 2 points are for the friendly guard and housekeeping.

The hotel was good budget friendly. The foods and drinks was great. But one thing that marked my visit in this hotel is the on duty receptionist. She has a bad attitude . Yes, she entertain us but when we're going to check-in in our room one of my family member notices that she gossip to his Co-duty and make face with us. She needs more training when it comes to hospitality industry. As a receptionist she needs to be polite all the time in any kind of guests. I hope the management will be aware of this. This the first time we encountered like this situation. We checked-in July 28 , 2022 in the afternoon.

The best Hotel in that sleepy town for a fair price.
Clean and nice rooms wiith good working aircon and so friendly and helpful staff. Located in the middle of the town so everything you need is close by. Great view from the 4th floor to San Miguel Island. So relaxing to sit up there enjoying the view and have a good cold San Mig Light.
If i will be back to Tabaco City sure i stay in JJ Midcity Inn again.

I've been to Albay more than once and have stayed more than once in Legazpi City every single time. I had the chance to explore neighboring neighboring towns that include Tabaco City and it was where I booked myself at JJ Midcity Inn for two nights. During my stay, I learned from the staff that the hotel is popular among local and foreign tourists en route to the distant island of Catanduanes since the Tabaco City port is just nearby. My accommodation came with complimentary breakfasts at the Top View, the hotel's rooftop F&B facility where there's a videoke facility as well. It's actually a hit night spot among locals during weekends as I determined during my stay.
