Set amidst tea plantations and rolling hills, this boutique hideaway promises all the splendour, romance and nostalgia of Cameron Highlands’ grand colonial heritage.Tall French doors, timber-beamed ceilings and plantation shutters add colonial charm and a touch of nostalgia to our rooms.Enjoy a refreshing round of golf, a pink-cheeked ramble along jungle trails, or a leisurely walk through tea plantations and strawberry farms. To recover, you can have a cup of tea in the drawing room, or a tea bath at the Spa Village, or you may simply choose to spend the day curled up with a good book by the fireplace.Cameron Highlands Resort is situated on the largest hill retreat in Malaysia, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, lush greenery, rolling hills and Tudor-styled cottages. The luxurious boutique Resort features 56 beautifully-appointed rooms and suites, and fronts Cameron Highlands' 18-hole golf course. It also houses the third wellness centre of the award-winning Spa Village group, which offers exotic treatments focusing on the healing and restorative properties of tea. Located in the state of Pahang, approximately 200 kilometres north of Kuala Lumpur, Cameron Highlands is a beautiful holiday destination and the only place where you can find tea plantations and strawberries in Malaysia. At about 1,500 metres above sea level, it is the highest area on the mainland and enjoys a cool climate and fresh air, with temperatures ranging between 15° and 25° Celsius. Much of the character of the highlands remains unchanged since colonial times. It is endearingly known to some as the 'little corner of England in Asia'. The cool climate on the picturesque plateau and its surrounding hills and forest make this a popular retreat for golfing, jungle trekking and exploration of the many plantations and gardens. Cameron Highlands Resort is ideal all year round for families, honeymooners and holidaymakers out to satiate their appetites for trails, tales and tradition.

Situated with a beautiful view of the mountains. The staff were friendly, helpful and chatty. The in house guide for our afternoon walk brilliant with his stories! Very entertaining! The food was lovely and our room clean with a view of the hills. The public rooms very historic and beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The only downside is the traffic on the road that runs immediately outside the hotel, but they do give you ear plugs! The huge Koi carp in the hotel pond were endlessly fascinating!

Not a child friendly hotel. During the summer school break we decide to book here for a two night stay. We have a 9 yrs old & a 2 yrs old kids with us. The 1st night we arrive we got a phone call at 1130pm saying we got a complaint from the next door guest saying our kids should lower their voice. It ruins me & my husband’s night. My kids not even crying they are playing and laughing together. I dont know how to ask the kids to be emotionless just so the hotel could blame my kids instead of blaming their not soundproof wall. If not because we already pay the room for 2 nights we would leave and not feeling a bit regret about it. The staff who call me dont even bother to ask anything but just simply sending the warning tone to us as if the other guest request is way more important than us. We wonder at first why the hotel provide us with ear plugs then we found out that the room is not soundproof. It is very noisy. Please take note that all the room are facing the road. In front of the room is huge tree blocking the view. There is nothing to see except for the vehicles passing by. Toilet is small & not clean. Very old. We love the Jim Thompson room but the frustration of the ill treatment we got here makes it easy for us to leave the hotel without turning back. There are other more great hotel than here. We will never come back here it is a nightmare hotel for family with small kids.

We booked under Resident Package and which includes all meals. All the meals we try are good. Their staffs are friendly and make sure to greet us. My wife really like the design of the rooms (English style) and although the bathroom is a bit small. You don't even have to open the aircon, just open the window and enjoy the nice cool climate of Cameron Highlands. As for the road noise, we hardly hear anything but maybe because we stay on weekdays. Definitely will stay here again when we visit Cameron Highlands in the future.

The service of the hotel is fantastic, their staffs are friendly and helpful. I like the design of the rooms and the surroundings. The rooms are nice and comfy, i like there is a balcony where you sit and relax to the nice cool climate of Cameron highlands. Do go for the breakfast, the hotpot at Gonbei was just alright nothing to shout about but the atmosphere was great though.

Normally one would select a hotel based upon the brand name of the property but when decided to go for a family retreat we chose Cameron Highlands Resort purely due to the hotel’s staff. During our December 2021 stay at the resort we were pampered by the CHR staff beyond words as such we decided to travel there again to renew our experience - and we were NOT disappointed!! Once again the CHR team, Asst Manager Dashni, Chef Edward, F&B Manager Ravi and Phyo were truly excellent. Sincere thanks to them all for making our stay a memorable visit.

PROS: Beautiful colonial hotel. Really warm and efficient staff, especially Hossain and Banthosh (hope I spelt it right). We also got a balcony room upon request. Breakfast was good, with several varieties. You are allowed to order more than one ala carte dish. Dinner was actually really nice, except for the watery mushroom soup. We had an excellent roast chicken and aglio olio - pricey but worth it. Nice ambience - pianist during tea and evening time. CONS: Uncomfortable bed. We both had backaches and couldn’t sleep well. Room wasn’t tht clean. I moved the side table to unplug the lamp to plug in my phone charger and there was so much of dust back there. They forgot my food order on 2 different occasions.

The property is not worth, though location is very good but cleanness and maintenance is hardly taken care of. To my experience, my room has faulty washroom knob, spider webs, dusty tables. Room service is bad and slow. To summarise property is in very bad shape.

Nice hotel for retreat. Great staff service especially during breakfast. However after few stays since 2021-22 we were not excited anymore over their breakfast. Hope the management will look into it and change the breakfast menu.

We stayed in the suite for 4 days 3 nights and were very delighted by the amazing hospitality of the staff members there. Right when we got off our car at the front door, the doorman swiftly helped us carry all our bags while we checked in and brought into our rooms for us. Special mention goes to Darwin who treated us with utmost care and it was such a delight to see him every morning for breakfast. There was a day where we slept in and we were pleasantly surprised when Darwin called our room to check if we were having breakfast and prepared in room breakfast for us when we were too tired to go down. There were couple of activities at the resort as well, we participated in the koi fishing and it was so tranquil just feeding the fishes in the morning. Overall a great experience!

We spent three days in the cool and tranquil Cameron Highlands Resort; the perfect retreat from the heat of KL.  Special mention must go to Darwin -  the Food and Beverage Manager.  A consummate professional in his work, he is a credit to the YTL group and a real asset.  He is moving to the Pangkor Laut Resort in August - head hunted, no less which is no surprise.  They will be lucky to have him and with his relaxed and charming professional demeanour he will be very popular with guests and staff alike.  All is not lost for the Cameron Highlands Resort however - there are several other staff members following in Darwin’s highly-polished and capable shoes.  Ravi is clearly cut from the same cloth as Darwin when it comes to discreet yet complete customer service and you will want for nothing when he is around;  especially in the Gonbei restaurant!  A 'steamboat’ is the perfect way to fill-up on a chilly evening in the Cameron Highlands and Ravi will keep you well-supplied with tasty ingredients for you to cook in your pot until you’ve had enough. We couldn’t talk about he CHR without mentioning the spa.  Worth the 5,000ft ascent in to the mountains just to experience a treatment at this haven of tranquility at the hands of Arika.  She was running the whole spa by herself and must have been exhausted but it didn’t show - it was a fantastic experience and we were very sorry to be leaving having only been able to book just one treatment.
