We stayed from 13 till 17 September with 2 adults and our 18 year old son and we could have easily spend an extra week at this wonderful hotel. Location: The hotel is situated in an unspoiled bay at about 20 minutes drive from Porto Vecchio. It blends in with the environment in a stunning way. Check in: From the very first contact you feel that it will be an amazing stay. The stay started with a tour of the hotel and this was immediately a pleasant introduction. There is a warm and homely atmosphere around the entire place and everyone made us feel at home right away. Rooms: We did stay in a beautiful suite with huge terrace on the ground floor. Excellent bedding, 2 bathrooms and a very comfortable dressing. Perfect house keeping and turn around service. Grounds: Lots of space in the hotel with an enormous amount of lush vegetation, large trees and everything perfectly maintained. A lot of natural materials have been used and this creates a very soothing atmosphere. Beach/pool There is no outside swimming pool at Cala Rossa and before arrival, this was one of the points that made me hesitate about booking the hotel. How wrong was I. There is a huge bathing area in the sea (la grande bleue as they call it) lined with nets to stop the jellyfish and the beach is cleaned every day. Stairs have been made so that you can step directly from the sea to the stairs. It is very pleasant that you don't have to go through the sand to leave the sea. The absolute highlight of luxury are the hot showers to rinse off the salty water. There are 2 stand up paddle boards, a kano and a pedalo free for use. A special mention for the beach boys who have an eye for detail, are always ready to help and are incredibly friendly. No need to ask for anything. They know you prefer to sit in the shade and make sure, the umbrellas are moved to try and get as much shade as possible all day long. Excellent bar service as well at the beach area. Breakfast: Nice buffet style breakfast with excellent products and with outside sitting area. We like to have an early breakfast and we arrived mostly shortly after opening time. Service at that time was sometimes a bit slow but friendly as always. One day, we had to wait for about 30 minutes to get an omelette and in stead of saying nothing, the lady said: sorry for the wait but they are made with love. I can assure you, this was one of the best omelettes we ever had. The way staff handle things makes all the difference in the world. Parking: Free and easy accessible parking area in front of the hotel. Restaurants and bars: At lunchtime there are many people from outside the hotel who come to enjoy an extensive lunch. What was a bit strange, is they put up a table exactly where the stairs from the sea are so you end up coming out of the sea in bathing suit in the middle of the restaurant. It did not really bother me personally but I can imagine some people can find this awkward. Another downside is they do not really have a light lunch option with sandwiches or snacks for hotel guests. The bar service is excellent all day and evening. In the evening the lunch restaurant is turned into a bar area and we loved sitting there with a cocktail with the noise in sights of the sea. Really a perfect way to end the days. One evening they had 2 people playing music and singing and this was so nice. So we ended our holidays in Corsica in the Calla Rossa hotel and I cannot imagine a more perfect end for the holidays and we hope to return to this hotel one day.

This is a fantastic hotel with amazing views and a beautiful private beach. Excellent professional staff. The beach bar is great serving drinks and snacks with a great friendly professional young barman. The style is quirky and elegant with some great touches like a sofa on the jetty and amazing night time lighting. Lots to see and do. Highly recommend this great hotel in a beautiful part of Corsica.

In a beautiful mature beach pine forest, a very creative entrepreneur constructed a simple rectangular building with the charm of blending into the forest and being part of it ( tree top room included ). The result is a 5 star hotel where old beams, terra-cotta and elegant rustic furniture is the norm. Lots of wooden decks finish on a fine sand beach facing the gulf of Porto Vecchio. The piece of sea directly in front of the hotel is so naturally enclosed that a swimming pool would have been totally redundant. The hotel has a very nice indoor swimming pool and spa. Breakfast is buffet style and dinner is gourmet style. Staff is nice and well trained. Lunch menu could have been a little lighter, simpler and extensive including more quiches, salads, pizza or any other light fare ( they offer the same gourmet dinner menu ). WIFI is good in the rooms and lobby. Erratic and poor in the garden, decks and beach. We had a well sized suite consisting of a bedroom and a living room with sofa, reading chair and writing desk. Large bathroom and separate closet. Two balconies with sea view made the whole accommodation perfect. Book a second floor room.

This is our 11th year in Cala Rossa, we have seen the hotel transform to a World Class resort. The owners each year reinvest money back into improving the guest rooms and the facility. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and the decor is lovely. Having visited the new Jr Suites this week, I can state they are beautiful, and tastefully decorated. The staff, service, and managers and owners take pride in providing a wonderful environment for all guests. Many of the employees have been employed for 15 or more years. The location, with its own lovely private beach is unparalleled. The lovely little bar at the beach serves cocktails, food and ice cream. The food, prepared by a Michelin Starred chef, is as good as you can find anywhere. We especially love the spectacular buffets in the summer months starting in June. The introduction of the Piattini are special. The lovely garden across the street is something out of this world, it serves all of the fresh needs of the chef. Many of the guests return annually, some for more than 30 years, this truly says a lot about the love we all feel from the staff and owners. The fitness center, and yoga space near the garden are really exceptional. Fitness center features Technogym equipment. There many more amenities which I did not mention, all which are exceptional. I can not rate The Grande Hotel Cala Rossa high enough, we will always return as the relationships we have developed over the years are truly special to my wife and myself.

Beautiful place, the staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly- nothing was too much trouble. Room was lovely, very spacious with separate toilet, large bathroom with separate bath and shower- perfect! bed was enormous with the most comfortable cushions, nice balcony with loungers. Very scenic grounds with lots of seating areas. Fantastic views from the grounds right next to the unspoilt bay. Food was fresh and good. Spa treatments were great- i had the best manicure i have ever had anywhere in the world which also included a massage, and lasted about an hour. Sitting overlooking turquoise sea in the at beach area bar in a comfy chair, enjoying the sun! Fabulous five days. Would highly recommend.
