We stayed on the lovely little caravan club listed site behind the hotel. Our first visit to Oxford with our motorhome. Friendly extremely helpful staff. Good beer and wonderful curries. Beautiful flowers and large beer garden overlooking the canal. Folk music group in the bar. We will be back!

Now as a contractor travelling the country you can imagine that I've stayed in some pretty ropey places. This one is in that bracket. Upon arrival, the place looks quite nice. Canal side location, large beer garden etc. And then the first thing that draws your attention is that the back half of the carpark is a caravan site! And... More

We stopped here originally for dinner with our kids. The beer garden looked ok, and it has a play area. I was put off by a number of caravans 'pitched up' in the car park - one in particular looked very run down. I ordered drinks which were ok, but some girl who seemed to have some authority was sat... We stayed here for two nights on arrival we were greeted by a young man who showed us to our room which was ground floor as requested, as we were going to the room I commented that they had no disabled parking and was promptly told they had applied for permission to have one but it was refused due to... The pub is tatty, the room we had was damp, noisy and had squeaky uncomfortable twin beds. The noise came from hearing other people talking and moving upstairs. . The whole room smelt damp. The curtains were fitted poorly, had missing rings and let in light. The bathroom and wardroble were damp, mouldy, smelly and old. The lamp in the... More

Paper thin walls ensured I could hear the kitchen staff making a racket till 23.30 and when they stopped I could hear my neighbours creaky floorboards and snoring for hours as I lay on an old mattress with the lumpiest pillows I've ever had to use. The staff were friendly when informing me they had nothing for me but some... More

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights only because there was no hotel available in neighboring Woodstock due to a sports event. Used towels that I left on the bathroom floor, were rehanged wet, as clean towels. Requested to replace a light bulb were ignored. Complaints were answered as: “we are not a 5 stars hotel”.
