Situated in the prime of Joburg and not far from the main centres like Sandton. The place is amazing, from the drive in at the gate through reception to the porters the staff is very warm and super helpful. We arrived before checkin time but they were able to fix our room within a reasonable amount of time. The food was great, awesome service and do pop into the champagne bar for some classy vibes. Also I highly recommend their spa, it is out of this world and I wish we had spent the entire day there. They had. Sunday live saxophonist and that just topped everything. We Will definitely go back! Thank you Fairlawns.

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel that could do with a bit more "special attention" to details and guests. Our room was magnificent, however we had to put up with the air conditioner set on auto timing for "heating" all night, which was unpleasant as it wasn't what we wanted. The spa area is also lovely, but quite dark and the jacuzzi was colder than the pool! The gym also is in a funny place which discourages one from using it. The breakfast/ dining room and the verandah is lovely, overlooking the grounds, and the food on offer is good. It is quite a drive to the airport from the hotel, however the area seems quiet and safe.

This hotel deserves TEN stars if it could. Firstly I've only arrived in J burg, today, solo female from UK. 50 plus years old and Uber Virgin. I had a bad experience with an uber driver and immediately Mike at reception took charge, stopped me getting scammed and arranged for a driver from hotel to take me back to my hotel. ( I have to stay in another hotel as I'm on a tour ) however this hotel and spa is out of this world, and if I could I would 100% stay here. Mike and TK were a credit to the hotel. I've told people already, how grateful I was for their help. The spa was so relaxing, beautiful and serene. Thank you xxxxxx

We booked a pedicure for my Mom’s birthday. There were 4 of us. On arrival, we were asked to sit down and complete a form, the questions asked had nothing to do with our treatment and seemed to be a waste of time. We were never offered refreshments that were available on the table. We were then taken to the area where they did our pedicures. On our walk down there, we were pleasantly impressed with the outlay of the spa and the serene and calming feeling of the greenery, gardens and bamboo trees. Unfortunately the room where you have the pedicures was quite the opposite. There was no atmosphere at all. It was very bright with uncomfortable chairs and no leg rest. The ladies who attended to our treatment were very unfriendly, not particularly well groomed and a lot of noise and clanging going on in their preparation room. They also seemed to just disappear quickly after the treatment. Overall we just felt let down, especially after the amount we paid at this supposed high end spa.

Beautiful luxury hotel set in absolutely lovely gardens. Service was sensational and the restaurant a delight. The spa (included in the price) was just lovely. This was a lovely hotel in which you will certainly feel safe and will just love the styling of all the rooms.

Hands down one of my favourite hotels worldwide. Right from the get-go the service and welcome was outstanding. I felt instantly at home, greeted by the delightful staff on reception. The decor is stunning, with an attention to detail in every aspect- a perfect eclectic ensemble which is warm and rich and cozy. My room was spacious and full of light and to be honest, I didn’t want to leave (although I forced myself as it’s my first time in SA). All communal spaces- the gardens, pool, spa, dining areas and bar are tranquil and sophisticated without feeling stuffy at all. Again- the eclectic combination of well selected African and British aesthetics was delightful (I heard that no two room is the same- as in styled in a unique fashion)… which is why after a short trip to a national park, I returned … and I was not disappointed. I was given a complimentary upgrade and again- such a stunning room, this time Baroque meets Africana! Not sure I will ever leave :-) - finally, let me say that the food was gorgeous as well… oh and one more thing… I booked all tours through the hotel and the organisation was fast and seamless. Very special shout out to Mike who is exceptional in every way and to the delightful Innocentia (Inno) and team :-)Thank you everyone for the most wonderful stay and I will absolutely be back.

The hotel went so much down, its just depressing. Dirty dusty carpets with the stuff still laying around. Thin bathrobes like we are in the middle of the summer. No 24/7 room service and when I requested 2 bottles of water at 11 pm, been advised to drink water from a tap. Whaoh, just shocking. Food quality went downscale drastically as well after the covid. Spa is still holding onto the good level

The entire hotel is a beautiful space to spend time with loved ones or friends. The food is exceptional. We received a complimentary bottle of bubbly as it was my hubbys birthday, we were so chuffed by this gesture. The best part is the amazing spa. My hubby and I really enjoyed our day at the spa, we even considered extending our stay. We are definitely going back soon. It simply was an amazing experience all round.

Amazing place, staff with second to none guest service quality. Meticulous attention to detail when it comes to everything EXCEPT THE GYM - OUTDATED EQUIPMENT, MASSIVE ROOM HALF EMPTY, RUSTY DUMBBELLS, CROSSTRAINER NOT WORKING… Please do invest into proper kit, this is the repeating feedback which management somehow always ignores
