Its a great drive from Nairobi to the resort. On arrival the team at the reception were amazing the check in process was smooth .
The grounds are amazing and well kept. The rooms were great but a little far from the main activities. Am not sure what the plan or the thought process is , as we had to drive to and from the rooms to the main building .The view of Kilimambogo was great. The cost is quite affordable .
Dinner and breakfast were great . We enjoyed the meals and the staff were good.

On the down side - On arrivals we had booked for a night on full board. My lunch experience was TERRIBLE . The first waiter we got was not interested at all . She was not paying attention and she had to send one of her colleagues to take the order again . We were not successful in getting our order even on the second attempt , we finally engaged the manager and in a record 10 min we had our meals. .I believe they were using casuals who were not well briefed and overwhelmed . It took over two hours to get our meals. Service improved for Dinner and Breakfast.
We noted the waiters were overworked we went to bed at 11pm and the the waiters we used at lunch were still on duty and we found them on duty for breakfast the next day.

About 10Kilometres or so from Garissa Thika Highway sits this magnificent ranch like gateway. Though the road to the resort is a bumpy one, what you find is exceptionally beautiful. The reception staff are very friendly. The lady manager is always present and always keen to understand ones needs. The waiters are warm. The rooms are so spacious and executive, there are robes provided and if you have a small child they will definitely provide a cot. Our visit was during new years eve, and we were able to experience the fireworks though it was a rainy night. The previous year they were better..(well...I came back). The food was just good compared to my previous visit. They had lots of games for their guest and children as well.... It is perfect hideout that is easily accessible from the city. I will be back Ol Donyo Ville.

Returning from business in the area of Matuu, we sought a place to rest and relax for two nights.

In late January, tourist lodgings are generally sparsely occupied, so we decided to walk in here without a reservation.

The resort is well appointed, very lush after the generous rains of the past 5 months. Serene, fresh breezes blow cooling air around, and nothing can be noticed of the heavily polluted Athi River about 1 km away.

It was clearly a slow day at the resort, and we were indeed the first and only guests on a Monday afternoon. Reception was not typical 5-star style: no hot towel, no drink, and definitely no generous smiles. It took 15 minutes to fill the form and have my ID copied in the backroom.

The shocker was when the front desk attendant said, literally, 'First pay up before we show you your room". After verifying this remark, we decided immediately to shorten our stay by a day, paid up Ksh. 18,500, and were taken to house No. 12., which soon became the adjacent No. 11 because the bed had rails but no mosquito netting.

In an practically empty resort, one expects to be pampered, served at an exceptional level, and treated to the best of the amenities.

We had FB and the food was excellent, as was breakfast and the chef's willingness to prepare a packed lunch for our onward journey.

I think that this lodge is exceptionally well built and decorated, but concur with some earlier reviews that the service level, professionalism and responsiveness can be improved upon to make it a perfect romantic rendezvouz.

I was there on the Valentine's Day with my girlfriend and everything about our experience was incredible. We were in the hands of Juliet who earnestly catered to our needs. The property is absolutely gorgeous. We had a picnic session on their lawn and then went back inside for lunch. Suffice it to say that the food was well-prepared. The staff goes above and beyond to provide you with the best experience possible. Special thank you to Gregory who greeted us at the door and Jessy who ensured that we were comfortable at all times. As a plus, they have an upper lounge from which you can soak up the view as you while away time. Would recommend to any couple seeking to get away from the noise that is Nairobi. Kudos!

It was a short visit for one night, but we were taken care of, as if we were staying with family or friends.
The rooms were nice, and the surroundings are very pleasant.
Dinner and breakfast were nice although there were limited vegan options at breakfast.

The discount via Expedia and the entire payment was not accepted (not working, bla). I had to pay again and Expedia did not refund either. The rooms were not ready and the check-in delayed. The staff was slow and not helpful. It is NOT worth the money. We could not even leave the premises, as the guard was not willing to open the gate. They suspected us to have not payed! Stay away go somewhere else and have a splendid time.
