They are so slow at the reception, serving food and everything else. I asked for food delivery to the villa aroun 3pm and it is now 5pm and still nothing. The phones dont work. You can try them all. When they dont pickup, it automatically hangs up on you. The Internet is garbage, and they have three Internet companies as I was told. LOL. If you're ok with mediocre service, pay them a visit, but if service is important to you, this is definitely not the place to visit. I would not even give a 1 star.
No water to bathe on the room (not villa). They expected us to bathe at the pool bath with no privacy. 2.5 hrs on the restaurant waiting for food. Had to go home at 11pm through a dangerous road. They never apologize.
A beautiful place nested within the mountains of Puerto Rico. It is about 2-3 hours from the city with beautiful scenery as one drives to Adjuntas. Be sure to use GPS and study the route before driving to the resort. The route has some tricky turns and curves. Our reservations were made over the phone with Luz who was prompt and helpful. I do want to point out a feeling of a lack of organization and communication amongst some employees that seems to hinder the quality of the service people expect of a resort. In particular when the Puerto Rican Office of Tourism is making a great effort to promote places like Villa Sotomayor to improve their business and the economy of the Island. In general, the place is lovely and filled with beauty. Visiting the area can be a wonderful cultural experience. As tourists, we would always side on selecting places like this for our vacations than a chain hotel. Considering the devastation of Hurricane María a few years ago, the place functions well and still holds its beauty. Worth pointing out that it does feel that the overall service staff at the restaurant and front desk is friendly unless something is pointed out that needs to be made right. Then, they seem a bit passive aggressive. We experienced two problems, one was duly resolved but the second one was ignored. After speaking to the owner about the second issue, we felt that a few staff members acted passive aggressive. The owner was prompt and responsive resolving the issues we shared. For that, we thank him and truly appreciate it as it made our stay more enjoyable. Our recommendations for the owner and service staff are: 1- some of the restaurant staff could limit cellphone use while serving customers. 2- when booking families do your best in keeping them together as cabins are assigned and consider physical needs 3- provide hospitality training to the staff 4- add a full set of towels (shower, hands, scrub) 5- have a mat or outside rug at the entrance door of the cabins (it rains frequently and a rug will keep the inside of the cabins cleaner specially on the cabins without a porch) 6- have a comprehensive list of places to go and places to to laundry or shop for snacks. The resort does not offer late night snacks options and the “tiendita” is very limited. A brochure of the area with activities. 7- when playing music in the public areas of the resort be nice soul of the quality of the music and the children that might be around as well as the sensitive of the guests. When the music played does not match the values of the resort then the enchantment is lost. 8- beware of the areas that flood and can be slippery, perhaps adding some signs. Overall we like the place and feel that we can recommend it- we wish we could have given it 5 stars. It is a great place for families. Too bad we could not kayak this time. We do hope that the owner continues to improve the resort and restore some of the activities that are not currently available. It is a wonderful gem.…
Had a great weekend there with the family. We rented 2 villas which were very cleaned. Breakfast is included. Customer service is excellent and people will explain where are the point of interests. Prices of food a d drinks in their restaurant are very affordable. My reccomendation will be to serve smaller portions during breakfast they are too big.
Nice place to be in touch with nature. During the night you can hear the coqui and really nice weather. The restaurante is really good and the service is good. The make you feel at home. Abu and her house "la casa de abu"made me feel like home.
