Went for a family visit a few Sundays ago : you have to book in advance. The patron was a lovely older lady - part of a couple who retired and then came back because they missed their customers so much! Food was perfect (buffet) and plentiful, and the setting, both inside and out, was exquisite - old country charm.

We held a Wedding Lunch at the Grouse & Trout, The Steading's own restaurant. This was to celebrate with our UK family our earlier wedding in March in the USA. Mary and David, the owners, were very helpful in getting everything organized over the telephone. On first sight of the Steadings, we were very pleased with the setting and the... More

David and Mary were welcoming and helpful without being obtrusive. The hotel was cosy with lovely nooks for relaxing and watching the snow. Setting is beautiful, you would not know Inverness was minutes away. Room was lovely, very clean,, high quality bedding, Arran Aromatics soap and shower accessories, big fluffy towels, fabulous. The food was excellent too. Very relaxing.

Mary and David were very hospitable and gracious. We felt very pampered! Our rooms were very comfortable and spacious, and we had every amenity in them. We wish that we could have stayed longer. The view was beautiful from our room, and from the dining area. The dining experience was one of luxury, and our food was excellent with local... More

The hotel is a quaint little gem in the country. It is run by a lovely couple who do everything. The bedroom decor is a little dated but it fits with the ambience of the hotel. The little bar is comfy and the drinks are priced well. The scenery around the hotel is gorgeous and we would have loved to... More

We spent one night here as part of a driving tour of Scotland. We were warmly welcomed when we arrived and our room was very quaint, lots of lovely wood and a teddy bear on the bed. We had dinner at the inn which was very good but quite expensive. The lounges were comfortable and, the lounge off the dining... More

The Steadings, I wouldn't call it a hotel, but more like a home, away from home. A super friendly, warm and homely feel like countryside hotel at Inverness- Loch Ness. The hotel is made like a country house, which has 9 bedrooms, a cozy bar, dining room and a beautiful lounge area, and of course to add to all this... More

Of 5 properties that we stayed at during our holiday to Scotland, this was by far our favorite and we can not wait to go back next year. The Steadings is a bit off the beaten path but that's what makes it so special. It's close enough to all Loch Ness/Inverness area attractions but the landscape outside of The Steadings... More

We enjoyed a quick overnight stay and it worked well for us. Not sure that we would call it a country house hotel which it makes efforts to replicate. Although we had a good dinner our breakfast seemed rather restricted to the set menu which prevented perhaps more personal choices such as grapefruit and muesli together. A good and tranquil... After a second visit to this property, we can say it is great. Though one is a few short miles from a main road and Loch Ness , it is not evident. Evenings can be spent looking for wildlife and mornings looking at the many birds coming to feed in the front garden. The rooms are clean and well supplied... More
