I have traveled all over the world, and I think I officially found my favorite resort. I went with my 11-year-old daughter and she says she wants to move there full time! We loved the fresh meals from the organic garden and the sea. We did 2 days of picnics on different beaches. We boogie boarded, read books, played Yahtzee and body surfed for hours each day on the beaches. We loved the Jeep tour of the property, horseback riding and lounging by the pool. I was thankful that there was only one room with WiFi - forced me to read and chat instead of look at my computer. The owner Isabelle is lovely and you see her love and care for the place in every little detail. My daughter ordered a plate of mango with every meal and we loved the seafood, fresh juices and soups. And I loved the skinny cocktails. I was a bit worried that we would feel out of place and it would be all couples. But there is so much space that it feels as though you have so much space to yourself. I would recommend it for families, couples and a serene place to go on your own. We had a lovely Ocean View room, but I think there are so many great views from all over the 2,000 acres of playground, that any room would be great. We can't wait to get back. This isn't the place to go if you want to party hard. But if you want to get away from it all, and fill your days with swimming, eating healthy, bonding with loved ones and truly escaping, then this is your spot!…
This property is truly an example of mother nature and woman at her finest display of perfection. Service is attentive and yet invisible. Extremely private and secluded villas with gorgeous views that are spiritually moving. Delicious farm fresh menus with ingredients from the property gardens and orchards from chefs who are Michelin level creating memorable food experiences. Take the property tour to fully grasp the magnitude of beauty and commitment.
To say Las Alamandas is paradise is an understatement. It is a place that has an amazing sense of place that makes it clear that you are experiencing a resort that celebrates the best of the best of coastal Mexico. Our second trip here has verified the consistency of care and service of what is one of the great Pacific Coast hideaways. Las Alamandas is not for everyone, but if you appreciate an amazing crescent shaped beach, breaching whales, pelicans playing in the surf, amazing organically grown food, beautiful gardens, amazing views of the ocean from everywhere, peaceful seclusion, colorful architecture, beautiful art, and a gracious and helpful staff then Las Alamandas is for you. To top off our experience, on a beautiful walk to dinner one evening we were graciously greeted by the owner, Isabel Goldsmith, a beautiful individual that makes you feel as if you are a welcome guest in her home. Ms. Goldsmith has clearly created a place like no other. …
Las Alamandas really exceeded my expectations in every aspect. I came as a solo traveler and had such a wonderful experience. The service was second to none, I loved how staff meet you at your suite for check in (no lugging your bags to reception). The grounds are absolutely beautiful and extremely well manicured. Every photo I took was like it came from a postcard - it's such a beautiful setting, and with 4 private beaches and 2000 acres to explore, you'll feel like the only guests. The food and drinks were fantastic, especially the margaritas and tacos! I will be back!
We knew this would be remote but we couldn't have predicted the degree of peacefulness and the expanse of beautiful vistas at every space. Las Alamandas is more than a resort... it is an oasis of environmental splendor managed by people who seem genuinely happy to be working in the middle of such a gorgeous environment. Travel here for quietude, for the magic of the ocean, for generosity of care and service, for the privilege of kayaking on the river, of appreciating so many sea birds, of reserving one of the four beaches for your own truly private picnic afternoon (we explored all four beaches and had two incredible picnic days at two of them), of touring the 2,000-acre property of vegetable gardens, orchards, lakes, lagoons, natural cactus-dotted terrain, and more... No matter in which casita you stay, your needs are met in an elevated fashion and you're steps away from chef-created delights at any time. Only reserve your place here if you want a sense of tranquility, of true quiet days and nights (though the noisy ocean waves never sleep!), of a place to read, to walk, to explore, to dine al fresco, to drink, to dream. Thank you to everyone on staff who we met during our December stay. Such wonderful people in such a wonderful treasured spot.…
I have gone to many "beach resorts" over the years from Bora Bora to Antigua (and most other Caribbean islands) and to the very remote shores of Ponape. Never have I experienced a place as peaceful and magical as Las Alamandas. My partner and I had the pleasure of being there for 8 nights in an ocean front suite. Each morning, I would slide open the casita door to gaze upon the serenity and beauty of one of the four beaches (note: no pesky bugs). The hotel is quite gracious and gives a complimentary tour of the property so you know how to find the other three beaches!! Our days were filled with horses and kayaks and strolls down deserted beaches. For anyone headed to this part of Mexico, please note: I have been to Cuixmala and El Tamarindo also but the place I wish to return to (over and over) is Las Alamandas! A big thank you to all the staff who worked hard to make our stay so special (in particular, to Maria who went above and beyond by going to a pharmacy and purchasing items for me on her own time and with her own money). …
The setting here is spectacular on some three thousand acres, four beaches, a large river, and cliffs over the water. Weather in late October was perfect and getting here only took 2:40 hours by rental car from Puerto Vallarta airport - look for the pink entrance gate at km 82 of carretera federal 200 and turn right. Of the 18 units only very view were occupied - we never saw more than 8 other guests. This results in a very private and relaxed atmosphere. Check in took place in the suite, very friendly, professional and swift. We had the casa San Miguel which is very nice overlooking the park and with a good view of the ocean. Although the lowest category we had plenty of room, a shaded terrace and a roof top look out. Flowers throughout the suite, twice-daily housekeeping. We understand that other suites are more modern and renovated. For us it was ok that the facilities (shower, telefon, bed-lights) have the standard of the 1990s. Service is readily available, prompt, responsive and kind. Guests are given a tour of the property with a 4 wheel jeep. Takes 60 minutes and is amazing! Food is great: Breakfast was varied and delicious, we ate it in the Palapel next to the beach. Dinner was also very good with sufficient variations for the three days. The restaurant crew is very professional and friendly. One evening they prepared grilled crayfish/lobster on our request. This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery. Do not expect nightlife and action. Also you have to accept that wifi is only provided in limited areas next to the office and that the fitness center consists of very run down equipment.…
We recently stayed as a family of four this past October and it was one of the most beautiful resorts we have visited-unique, tied to nature, 5 star service, food grown right on property, private and SO many colours! We felt like we had the place to ourselves and were blown away by all the stunning details! The staff always went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of and no detail was missed. We did sunset cocktails at one of the look out points and I HIGHLY recommend this add on. It is so incredible and made us feel like we were not even in Mexico. Magical!!!
Crazy ass expensive and very difficult to get to. The resort is sadly in need of a refresh. The food and service are barely passable food and service. The beach in front of the hotel is not swimmable and you must drive or be driven to one the is swimmable. Naturally beautiful site. Small and private.
Beautiful resort in a secluded area. Magnificent beaches and the grounds were stunning. The service was impeccable. Wonderful activities provided at this resort. The rooms were large and spacious. They art work around the property is beautiful.
