Rooms were large and clean. Very good breakfast buffet including hard boiled eggs and deli meats.Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Excellent location near Chenonceau. 2 kilometers from town with restaurants and shops. Had a self service bar and snack area to bring on the outdoor patio or pool area for relaxation. Property well maintained. Modern bathrooms in an old... More

The hotel is a little hard to find but worth the effort. It is quaint in a beautiful setting. The rooms are large and my room #4 looked out over the garden and pool. The beds are not the best but my friend and I thought the experience mde up for the bed quality. This is an older chateau so... More

We had the family room. The castle is nice but the quality of the mattresses are really poor. The king size is composed of two individuals mattresses which are not at the same level (big bump in the middle). The queen bed was very uncomfortable. Regarding the shower, don't expect to have hot water (medium temperature). The breakfasts were not... More

Stunning location, helpful and friendly staff, beautiful room. Exactly the right amount of luxury without feeling stuffy. We lounged by the pool in the afternoon and enjoyed the tranquility of the area. We will definitely be back!

Chateau de Vallagon is a wonderful place for a romantic holiday. It is close to all the castles you could ever want to visit. There are first rate restaurants that are reasonably priced to dine. There are well indicated bicycle roads all over the Loire and Cher Valley that the Chateau de Vallagon is close to. The room we had... More

The chateau and grounds look wonderful. There are two classes of rooms in the hotel, the well appointed ones (from the pictures) and the ones on the third floor with no elevator and the servants staircase. The rooms are very large but have virtually no furniture. The bed is even on the floor. There is one glass top table, a... More

We spent 2 days at this charming Chateau as we were visiting Chateau's in the Loire Valley. Tineka and staff were exceptionally helpful. We needed medical assistance after an accident that occurred on a canal boat earlier in our holiday. Tineka was amazing in helping us locate a home nurse and doctor to visit us at the Chateau. The staff... More

We stayed for four nights as we were visiting several nearby chateaux and the hotel is in an ideal location for this. The (entirely Dutch) staff were welcoming and helpful so the first impression is very good. The building is quite impressive and although on closer inspection you can see it is starting to show its age in places it... More
