Looking at previous reviews I was prepared to stay over however I was disappointed. The rooms were cold with evidence of damp and smelt musty and unclean. I couldn't wait to get out. Needs some attention.

Our 2nd visit and loved it. Friendly, helpful staff and lovely carvery for 4. This time 3 of the group couldn't resist the sweets. Tasty lemon meringue with cream or ice cream. Will definitely be returning to enjoy another meal.

This hostelry has it all in terms of best practice in customer care and hospitality. All the staff have the natural, welcoming and positive customer service skills we love to come across every now and then. Nothing was any trouble for our numerous and varied requests during our evening celebrating our friend's 65th birthday. We thought the carvery food was...

Stayed for one night on a stopover, the first room was not great with a leakage from the shower but was soon moved once it was flagged up, apart from that no complaints. Quiet, with a TV and drinks and in a decent place right next to the M1.

Stayed here to break a journey from the south coast to Scotland. Very convenient for M1. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room comfortable but small and needs double glazing to stop the draught from the window. Food good, including vegetarian options with an excellent breakfast. Good real ales. Good value for money!

Went here for Sunday lunch, so it was quite busy when we got there. We took my elderly mother who wanted to sit and look at the lovely countryside views while eating but she struggled to get up the two steps to get the table she wanted, but otherwise disabled access is good. This place could do with a lick of...
