I booked this trip for my husband, thinking I'd "rough it" just this once, for him, as he's followed me all over, staying in quaint hotels and eating restaurant food just to humour me. This experience changed me. It's not glamorous at Charlie's. It's real. It's an open-air

...go to CHARLIES JUNGLE HOUSE . This is not a fancy resort, rather it's a one of a kind, restful place to stay in a jungle environment; a 4 minute walk from beautiful beach. Waves are perfect for boogie boarding and surfing when the tide is right. I have visited

Yes there's a barbecue for guests. In each room there is a large electric frying pan. I don't know if they have hotplates.

Hello! Sorry for the late reply. We are about 30 min up the coast from Uvita and about 18 min from Dominical in Playa Matapalo. If you Google Charlie's Jungle House you will find a map. Please let me know if you have any questions. Pura Vida!

Hi and thanks for your question. For what you might spend transporting 7 around...even from Quepos, it may be well worth having a vehicle for your time. If there were less it would be easy to manage transportation needs with local taxis. It is possible to take the bus to Matapalo, or a taxi for that matter. Within Matapalo there is not much night life, its a quiet village with several options for dining. This said however, Dominical is only 15 minutes away and there are several spots for dining and nightlife/dancing in general.
