First of all the hotel does not have a SPA. So for somebudy that expects to enjoy a spa this hotel is a huge dissapointed. Rooms are not heated so if you go in winter you will freeze. Staff is very unprofesionall and manager very agresive, a real close minded person that won’t give a peny on costumer experience. we complain about not being able to have a massage or a sauna and we told him that we won’t give him a good review if he won’t refound us so we can go to a real spa hotel and enjoy our holiday and then he threaten us to complain at police against us saying that we blackmail him. He is promoting pictures with lake view but the hotel is behing a bakery owned by his father and 40 min away from lake Como. In my opinion this hotel is a fraud and should have maximum 3 stars. This is why i been filling complains to all authorities posible, to Marriott and Design Hotels as well. So if any other persons fell the same i advice you to do the same.

We were looking forward to a relaxing 5 night stay (we paid with Marriott points which was an excellent deal BTW), but didn’t really see our expectations being fully met. The location is good, we wanted to be within 45min of Lake Como, and we got it. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a slick, minimalist design - we enjoyed a lovely check-in with Luca, had a wonderful room, and spent the days/ afternoons by the swimming pool. The daily room cleaning team was lovely and efficient, and left a nice little surprise every day which we loved (local juices, cookies, organic shampoo, chocolate). As a Platinum member, my loyalty to Marriott wasn’t recognised. I didn’t get offered a room upgrade, no complimentary breakfast was provided (€35 pp if paid in cash), and the cost of using the Spa is €25/pp per hour. Not great! In addition, there were building works going on at the roof, which means building site noise from 7.30-8am onwards. Our room had to be changed from 3rd to 2nd floor, but regardless, it felt less cozy and little relaxing to be by the main pool with a large moving crane above your head. It’s such a shame, as the place is well designed, the village is cozy, the lights are well thought through, the proximity to Como is a plus, it’s just that it needs to take guest reviews onboard, and improve in certain areas to make the guest experience better. We had a good stay for our 15 year wedding anniversary, but it could have been a lot more relaxing without the noisy building works.

I’ve read the reviews yet, my travel agent suggested this hotel is a gem and exactly what I was looking for in a long weekend. I came in from the US for just three nights. I was looking for: relaxation, easy access to hiking/walking, sun and amazing healthy food. I got everything I asked for. The service is over the top, as every member of the team wants to make sure you are happy, and well taken care of. They went out of there way on several occasions to accommodate anything I asked for and with pleasure. I had a private spa experience, which was so relaxing. To have the whole spa to myself, enjoying the thermal pool and steam was outstanding. I travel constantly, both for work and pleasure and have paid double for less of what I received here at the C Hotel. The room was very clean, and minimal as well as just perfect and lovely. This gem, with its additional famous family bakery is just 40 minutes from Milan and an hour from Lake Como. It is really hard to find this kind of travel experience these days and I would come back here over and over. If you want quiet, with access to many tourist spots, exceptional service, accommodations and food, this is your place. Only 22 rooms and I barely heard anyone next to me or around me. Private pool with my room was fantastic. Give this hotel a try, I’m a traveler that doesn’t write reviews and gives feedback directly to the hotel or my agent and I felt compelled to write this as I am heading to the airport. Thank you to everyone at C Hotel, my experience here exceeded every expectation. I will see you again. Rebecca V.

In a sentence, my experience at the hotel was more Ryan Air than minimalist luxury. While the aesthetic of the property is a matter of personal preference, the service was simply shocking. I spend a considerable portion of my year in hotels in this price range, and almost alway find that the staff (and the policy under which it operates) does its best to avoid saying "no" - not here. For starters, having booked through Marriott Design Hotels, my Bonvoy Platinum status was not enough to avoid the following costs: Breakfast: €35/Person 1-Hour Spa Access: €25/Person Late Checkout: €100 While I certainly wasn't thrilled with the added costs, my jaw didn't quite drop until I was asked to pay €4 for a shaving kit while checking out. In well over 100 hotel nights a year across brands, even at 2* hotels, I can't remember being asked to pay for a (substandard, no less) shaving kit. The nonchalance with which the manager stated "When you ask for something in a hotel, you pay for it" captured the essence of this property better than I ever could. When you say jump, they tell you how much it costs. The only recognition of my status was an "upgrade" to a Superior Garden View Room, which was hard to differentiate from the standard room. Given that there were only two other cars in the hotel parking, and that the manager and security guard (as there is no hotel staff over night) were the only other humans we saw during our stay, I can't say that it was for lack of space. When my girlfriend and I pulled into the parking lot after dinner (around 23:00) the security guard asked what we were doing, to which we responded that we were guests - not satisfied, he then asked "both of you?" I'm no master of innuendo, but I wasn't impressed with his question. In search of a relaxing countryside retreat without the weekend crowds around Lago di Como, I instead found an unfriendly operation seeking to nickel and dime me at every turn. Indeed, as I continue to expand my global STR portfolio, my time at the C-Hotel and Spa will serve as an example for the managers that I employ on how NOT to treat guests.

Let's start with the pros: - front desk staff are super friendly and do anything they can - Restaurant is delicious and server/manager is terrific - my meal was exceptional! And now the cons: - construction on the roof - this was not noted anywhere before arrival. I was given a room RIGHT under the drilling/hammering. I asked to move rooms after 5 minutes in the room - the sound was unbearable. I was told there were no free rooms on the second floor and all other rooms on the third floor would sound the same. Why would they rent rooms directly under the construction??? And why not inform people before hand??? Their solution was that I could go to the spa earlier than my reservation and could stay longer, until the noise stopped. That worked for that day, but I again heard the noise at 7am each morning, until 4-6pm each afternoon. -the "spa" - it is a warm little wading pool with jets, and a steam room. The steam room wasn't hot enough to be effective. There's also an outdoor water feature that was apparently for 'cooling off' from the steam room - no necessary, as per above, and it was weirdly visible from the gardens. -the owner's rules - I was leaving for a few hours and leaving my dog in the room (he's very good, and has done this at hotels around the world many, many times). I was stopped at reception and told the owner will not allow pets unattended. This was nowhere on the website or at check in. The front desk was very understanding, but was forced to follow the owner's rules. He called the owner, and the owner finally agreed to let me put down an extra 500 EUR deposit, as I was threatening to check out immediately. - room quality - the room is starting to show it's age. It was clearly designed and built by a 'fan of hotels' not a 'hotel professional'. The lighting panel is confusing, the square toilet is awkward, the bed was worn out and uncomfortable (don't get me started on the two twin mattresses masquerading as a king), and the windows from my particular room were directly visible to anyone coming from the parking lot = zero privacy. TL;DR: I went for a relaxing experience. It was not. But the restaurant was delicious. I will never stay there again.

Once in a while you find a gem like this: what a 5 star plus experience. We had the family suite with private pool (only downside was the pool temperature). Amazing vibe, beautifully designed and decorated, great rooms and convenient beds, fantastic staff, amazing (small) outside pool, best and authentic breakfast, an oasis and a perfect base to explore the Lake Como area: we will be back many many times!!! Many 5 star GL hotels could learn a thing or two of this hotel…..

Friendly welcome by Luca who was a real star of the hotel. He seemed to be doing everything in the property! I accidentally booked for 1 person so had to pay 60€ more which is a little frustrating, but in the end is my fault. Good food in the restaurant and reasonably priced. Pool is tiny and quite a lot of building working going on so was not peaceful to sit there. It’s weird because you have to book the spa and pay additionally - they should make this more obvious when booking as this was not indicated anywhere. Most hotels with spas are free to use for the in house guests, so 19€ an hour was frustrating and in my opinion just annoys the guests instead of bringing any real income. Due to this we did not use the spa and is the reason we won’t give it 5 star.

It has been a very nice discovery: just half an hour from Milan, the C-Hotel is a very comfortable place, very discrete, silent and with good SPA facilities. The venue and rooms are pretty, spacious and clean. C-Hotel is a Design hotel so any detail is beautiful and very well designed. The SPA is small but there is the possibility to have the mini SPA only for you. The food is delicious and there is a great attention to raw material. The gym is very well equipped and spacious, it is not easy to find such a great quality. We really enjoyed our stay and we will definitely visit the C-Hotel again for a nice and relaxing weekend.

The hotel itself was clean and pleasant but the included spa (as described) is an additional cost of 19 euros per hour which is a little extortionate in my opinion. Our room was listed as a suite but wasn’t any bigger than other hotel rooms I have stayed in. There were a few faults with our room which staff seemed uninterested in at checkout. The bathroom door was incredibly noisy and stiff, their was a huge amount of condensation on the ceiling & the electronic blind that kept everything nice and dark was stuck down. The breakfast was good - organic and local produce but it was served to you rather than you being able to pick what you wanted. The only thing you could choose were how you liked your eggs (the only hot product). The outside area was average. The pool is a plunge pool and very small. The beds outside are a good idea but were filthy when we went outside. Overall the stay was okay. I wouldn’t return in a rush.
