Having eaten in the Mayview a number of years ago, i was a bit apprehensive on going back as i did not rate it very much before. On this occasion we were attending an anniversary and had booked a weekend stay. Staff were welcoming and friendly and room was clean and comfortable (nice toiletries in the bathroom) also had two... I would recommend this pleasant hotel in St Monans. We stayed for 4 nights. The room was attractive with a comfortable bed and everything we needed. The breakfast was very tasty - my husband particularly enjoyed the real scottish porridge and the black pudding. The staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a nice family atmosphere. There was... More

We were visiting St Monans on holiday and rented a local cottage. Our first visit blew me away with the most professional and service I've ever had. It was a busy night in the restaurant but the landlady said she'd find us a table if we'd wait a bit and seated us in the bar; a proper local's bar with... More

Went in without a reservation(recommend that you should book). I had homemade steak pie with potatoes and veg and my wife had various fish in breadcrumbs with salad and chips - both very really tasty! The staff were all lovely and very welcoming! Worth a trip

Nice village, shame this pub still has'nt sold, as a new owner might take pride in it A real 60's relic, not in a good way, rude owner, and dreadful food. Avoid. Better off going into nearby Elie, one of the pubs there. How anyone can host a special occasion in such a dump is beyond me. Looks o.k. from... More

Very good seafood options on the menu - we can recommend the monkfish and the seafood panache. Service was friendly and attentive. The dining room was traditional - perhaps dated, but a nice atmosphere. We would certainly go back

We were staying in St Monans for a week and we're looking for somewhere local we could get some nice food and drink and the dog and kids would be welcomed. The Mayview catered for all our needs. As we had the dog we were given a seat in the bar, this was perfect and suited us as it was... More

On a trip from North to South via family, we popped in looking for some food, the young lady who helped us was professional, charming and helpful and the food was fantastic xx. I had the home made soup with vast quantities of tattie and then the Haddock Mornay. My better half had large quantities of smoked salmon and shell... More

A nice simple review.Had a lovely meal with wine.No starters but all had main course and sweets.Everyone was delighted with the food.Presentation was excellent and we had a lovely evening. We all had different mains and different sweets and all agreed that their course was perfect as was evident form the empty plates.
