We had lunch here before a trip to the castle. The food was excellent; very tasty with good portion sizes. The staff were friendly and helpful, with swift service. We returned later for a warming drink and again the service was very good. We were faffing about regarding getting our bus home and were probably a bit of a nuisance...

Visited the Castle Inn recently for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Staff were great and really friendly and the food very good with a wide choice on the menu. Well worth visiting if you are in the North Berwick/Gullane area.

After a visit to the castle near by we saw this pub. We went for lunch and had nice pub food. You van get fish and chips or fish in corn meal. We had and liked both ways. Others had sandwiches, all fine for a nice lunch in a comfortable atmosphere.

Off today to give the new car test drive down the coast & have bite to eat. Decided on visiting the Castle Inn again, been a while since we visited there. Being a Thursday it was a bit quiet but the staff are lovely & the menu is very good. So it was fish & chips for me and scampi...

Good friendly service. Lovely pub and the food was nice. Ideal if you want a nice pub lunch. Fish and chips, burgers etc and a lovely steak pie. Only a small eating area so probably best to book first. Few car park spaces outside the pub and round the green.

After a wee day out around east Lothian, we decided to try out the restaurant. Greeted by 2 friendly staff, mentioned having lunch and was offered to be seated in the bar, opposite restaurant or outside. From the outside I didn't think it was so big. Ordered our dishes, minutes after were told they'd sold out of one dish. Had...

Lunch with family, two children. Lovely location, pub is pretty and fits the area. Lots of parking which was nice. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Menu had a wide choice of food and staff were helpful pointing out children options and items not on menu. Tables are well laid out, chairs comfortable. The food was a mixed bag. Fish...

My wife and I and a couple of other family members were attending a wedding at the wonderful Archerfield House when we stayed at the Castle Inn recently. The rooms were a really good size with comfy beds. We ate in the restaurant on the Friday night and I have to say the food was excellent. The Castle only has...

I think this is the first time I've ever written a review and I had to sign up the tripadvisor and download the app to do so as I was so compelled to report how bad my stay was. Myself, my wife and 2 friends were staying after a wedding in Gilmerton house. We were quite late back and were...

We visited the Castle Inn after we'd visited the ruined Dirleton Castle and we weren't disappointed. The staff are very friendly and chatty and the food's great. There's a nice cosy feel to the place as it's not too big (at first glance) but there is a bigger space at the back and they're dog friendly though you have to...
