Disappointed with the afternoon tea, plenty of cakes but only 2 sandwich fingers each. The spread on the roast beef sandwiches was so thick it was disgusting. Scones seemed hard not fresh. The waitress seemed bored and uninterested in serving. The only saving grace was the company. Definitely not worth the stated value, we had itison voucher .

My partner and I stayed for a 2 night stay recently as part of a wedding party. The room was lovely and clean and the bed (although it was 2 singles pushed together rather than a double) was very comfortable. There were a few scuffs and marks in the bathroom on the walls, but nothing that would put you off... More

An overnight stay before catching the early ferry. We had bikes with us and they stored them overnight in the ballroom. Location is good for the ferry and for the station, a few yards away. They offered to serve breakfast earlier than usual because we wanted to be away early but in the end we decided to skip breakfast. The... More

Popped in on Saturday for bit of Breakfast. Restaurant is very stylish and lovley outlook over the Sea. Service was great and the breakfast itself was delicious. Good produce used and excellent value for money. Will definitely be making this a regular thing when in the area.

We were welcomed by friendly staff in what at first appearance seems to be a well presented hotel. However, the room was pokey, with paper-thin walls and an uncomfortable bed, and appears to have been last decorated in the 80s. The food was fine, but with no vegetraian options except Quorn, this is a blast from the past.

I've had my wedding in the lauriston, my daughters christening, an anniversary party and many meals and really enjoyed my experience. After seeing a voucher on itison we booked to go along with my family (15 in total) on booking we were told that they could not sit us all together as the voucher is only 2 per table. This... More

It is such a shame that you did not read the terms of the voucher deal before purchasing. It does clearly state a maximum of 2 vouvhers per table of 4 people, so why you would phone up, ask to book a table for more than the stated numbers is puzzling. Then post such a reveiw on tripadvisor blaming us... More

Recently stayed at the Lauriston before an early morning ferry crossing. We arrived really late but called ahead and the night porter was ready for us and helped us unload in the dark. Quick summary: comfy beds, huge bedroom (Room 5) with sea views, friendly staff. Why only a 3? Rooms were a little old fashioned, hot water in the... More
