What a lovely place to get away from it all! The only negative I could find was that it's a bit difficult to locate being buried in the depths of the beautiful countryside a few miles from Malestroit - and then, on coming home, realising that the hotel's owners had sent me a detailed set of instructions on how to... I should like to say how irritated and disappointed I was after ringing the manor directly several times and being able to get anyone to answer. After several failed attempts a lady eventually answered. I was, however, rather surprised that she was unable to give me a direct answer to my question about whether or not they were full at... This is a very special place to stay, tucked away in a beautiful part of the French countryside. The owners, a delightful French couple, greeted us affectionately and without any pretension. We quickly learned about the history of the fascinating manoir, and all about the interesting furniture and fittings. We only stayed two nights, but had some interesting trips in... More

My wife and decided to take a trip to France booking this hotel for our first two nights. So impressed where we with the establishment and the wonderful friendly owners stayed the week. I cannot speak highly enough of the attention to detail the effort made by the owners to make your stay pleasurable and uneventful, not to mention the... More

This hotel is in a very beautiful area near Malestroit and the river Oust ( great for cycling) The owners are very welcoming and go out of their way to be helpful and the hotel full of character, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Delicious evening meal with homegrown or local produce and plentiful breakfast. Very comfortable bedroom. I would... More

When I phoned to book a room for just one night, I was immediately made to feel I would be warmly welcomed. I had the website open in front of me and was talked through what was available while I looked at the photos. I eventually chose the ground floor room and it was perfect, with all the amenities one... More

We may have not got off to the best start by approaching the hotel up the pedestrian path (that is the signpost off the road as you come from the village centre) that would have a 4X4 in trouble, never mind a low ground clearance Mercedes Sports car! However on arrival we were met by Mr Large and his wife... More

We have found the Manoir by chance and it was a very nice surprise. The owners are very kind and helpful. The manoir is surrended by a marvellous nature. Our room was confortable and clean. The breakfast was pleintiful and gourmant.

My husband and I stayed at the Manoir for two nights in early June, 2011. It's charming and peaceful, though I wouldn't recommend staying there without a car. Our room was huge with a comfortable bed and gorgeous view. The owners are friendly, though they don't speak much English. Breakfasts were better than most: soft boiled eggs and fresh pastries.... Exactly what we were hoping for.. a characterful, charming traditional French manor house. Huge rooms with one of the largest beds we had ever seen, and comfortable too. The bathroom was lovely and everything we needed was supplied, didn't need to ask for anything. We didn't take breakfast. The dinner was superb, home cooked by Agnes. Our hosts Joseph and... More
