Every time I have to spend a night in San Jose I thank my lucky stars for Casa del Parque hostel. Roger and Federico have repainted and it's lovely. Clean and neat and friendly, wish I could stay longer. Looking forward to going back.

The staff was friendly. The pictures placed around the lobby area gave nostalgic insight to the history of the hostel building reminding travelers that it was once someone's home; which was a nice touch. The hostel is within walking distance to the center of town. If you like urban hikes, you will pass by some local parks, shops, and "sodas"...

Very nice spacious place at the Parque Nacional. A 13-bed dorm is upstairs, while at the ground level there are a well-equipped kitchen, communal spaces (living room, tv room, terrace in the garden). I liked the fresh flowers and the good quality coffee (included in the price). The hostel is in an area with bars (drunk guests more likely to...

The place is beautiful with huge welcoming rooms. People respect each other, I haven't been waken up by anyone even though I was in the ten people room. I was very well received and felt safe throughout my two days here. I will come back for sure !

It felt like Home, the staff is incredible & always willing to help, the building has so much story and its located in a really convenient place in San Jose where the supermarket and the Central Avenue is at less than 10 minutes. The prices are really affordable I Recomend it a 100%.

Spent about 10 days in total spread over 2 stays. I'm a vaper and enjoyed the rear patio and hung out there a lot drinking the never ending supply of coffee and chat. Short walk to big supermarkets and organic Chocolate shop (dried whole cacao beans, yum yum) Some good local eateries for a 2,600 lunch (down right side of Park...

What a great place. Very homey and lots of old world charm here. The private rooms were huge! We enjoyed the outdoor garden and indoor living room. We were especially pleased with the staff. Roger was very friendly and interested in answering questions and providing information. Pretty much lights out here at 10pm and that worked out real well. We...

The architecture of the hostel strikes you first then the hospitability of the staff makes you feel at home. The place is safe, clean and calm. Staff was super helpful in finding and returning a lost cellphone. Would definitely book again!

I arrived here without notice and was greeted with a warm welcome by staff. My room was large and comfortable and the entire house is imbued with an old world charm. The central location is excellent, facing a lovely urban park and walking distance to the cities main attractions. I hope to return one day.
