We had an amazing month at Aqua on Bequia! We stayed in the ground floor appartment initially, and then moved upstairs. Both appartments are beautiful & well appointed. Both spaces have really comfortable beds, that make them difficult to wake up! The plunge pool & terrace are amazing, with stunning views. Aqua is perfectly located between Admiralty Bay, Princess Margerates beach and walking distance to lower bay. Abbie the house keeper was so helpful, and made the appartments sparkle. We would highly recommend staying at Aqua, and we hope to return!

Owner Lisa Hunnicutt has created a marvelous oasis in this hillside accommodation. Situated uphill (and I do mean hill) from Port Elizabeth, this inn is comprised of her own residence and two additional suites. I stayed in the upper level Passion Fruit Suite, which included living room, full kitchen, bedroom, and large bathroom. A large, covered veranda ran the full width of the suite, and it was the idea place for breakfast or an evening sunset watch, as Aqua commands a wonderful view of Admiralty Bay. French doors in both the living room and bedroom bring the spectacular view indoors. Furnishings were lovely -- not the typical plastic variety usually found in casual, Caribbean inns -- and I was particularly impressed with the stunningly comfortable, king size bed. Ceiling fans and mosquito netting contributed to comfortable sleeping, even without air conditioning. (Some readers might wish to know that the downstairs suite does have a/c available.)

Aqua is loaded with small details that I appreciated, like quality sheets and towels; generous closet space with plenty of hangers; a well-equipped kitchen including a complimentary bottle of wine, tea bags, coffee and filters; a utility sink and clothesline on the huge, enclosed back patio; and even a bottle opener mounted on the front porch, which really came in handy for the post-dive beers I enjoyed every afternoon. Best of all, there was a perfectly situated plunge pool, located mere steps from my bedroom, that enjoyed the same commanding bay view as the rest of my accommodation.

Lisa has also opened a gym on the property's ground floor, with a pretty decent selection of workout equipment. I never used the facility, but I did enjoy visiting with some of the island residents who dropped by for a workout.

Aqua is within walking distance of the Belmont Walkway and Port Elizabeth, although my companion and I decided to rent a vehicle after one day of hiking back up the hills after diving. The younger or more energetic could get by without wheels, but then you'd miss the chance to explore the further reaches of this terrific little island.

Dog lovers will be delighted with the two resident canines at Aqua; within a day of arrival, Razz and Saffron had become my "new best friends."

Given Bequia's small size, everything is within an easy drive of Aqua, but it is especially convenient to the dive shops, restaurants, and other services lining Admiralty Bay. I loved the relaxed, friendly atmosphere and comfortable surroundings, and I thought Aqua was a great value. When I return to Bequia, I will definitely stay here again.

My wife and I just spent five weeks in Bequia and stayed at Aqua on Bequia. Aqua is centrally located so you can easily walk to the dive shops, restaurants and town, as well as the Lower Bay beach and Princess Margaret Beach. We stayed in the lower unit which while not having a view, does have air conditioning in the bedroom. The unit is well appointed and you can tell the owner is an architect by all those little touches that make the place so comfortable. A welcome package of goodies awaits you when you arrive and the on site managers were there to greet us. The units are well maintained by Abbie and her cleaning staff along with Kenny and his groundsman.
A real bonus is the plunge pool. What a great way to cool down after a walk back from town or the beach!

We stayed at Aqua for Easter week and absolutely loved it. Our apartment was beautiful, very tastefully decorated and fully equipped. The small pool was just perfect for cooling off and enjoying the fabulous view of the harbor. We were there for the regatta, so we enjoyed watching the different boats coming and going. Location was great as well, just a short walk down the hill to all the restaurants. Coming back was more of a challenge, but it was a good way to walk off all those rotis!!

Aqua is in a great location, so we were within walking distance of the main beaches, the local bars & restaurants, and the main town of Port Elizabeth. The accommodation is comfortable and we had nice outside space that included a refreshing plunge pool! The rate represents very good value for money. Chris & Louise we’re friendly & attentive, without being intrusive. We’d happily recommend aqua to any future visitors to this gorgeous little island!

Aqua is the colour! Both of the innate beauty of the Caribbean Sea that surrounds the island of Bequia and of the rental accommodation that we chose there, which can truly be described as a “home away from home”. From our deck at Aqua, we woke up each morning for an entire month, to a spectacular, ever-changing view of the sailboats swinging on anchor over the shimmering surface of Admiralty Bay. It’s impossible to paint an adequate picture in words, but I think from even this simple statement you’ll understand that we were ecstatic with our stay at Aqua. It was the perfect beginning to our longer term post-retirement travels.
It is difficult to describe either Aqua or Bequia without using up every superlative in the dictionary. The 1 bedroom unit we rented was immaculate and fully met all of our needs. Abby and Kenny provided not only excellent housecleaning and gardening support, but massive smiles and very interesting conversations as well each and every time our paths crossed. A cool little extra (literally) that we totally underestimated the value of prior to arrival was the plunge pool. We used it each and every day, either after our short uphill walks from town, after our frequent much longer walks all over the island or as a place to begin happy hour while enjoying the view over the bay. Each of our three favourite beaches Princess Margaret, Lower Beach, and Friendship Beach offered something slightly different to capture our interests, as well as most of our days. All were within an easy walk of Aqua, or if you prefer, a shuttle bus ride which are constantly moving folks everywhere and anywhere around the island. Similarly, restaurants and bars in town were an easy downhill skip and the small hill climb back up to Aqua provided an opportunity to work off at least a few of those acquired calories. At least that’s how we justified our many extra indulgences at awesome bayside locales such as The Plantation, The Gingerbread and the Whaleboner Bar. You’ve simply got to see that place, have a drink or two there and hear the story behind that name …it’s classic in every way!
Our stay at Aqua was significantly enhanced by the insider information tips provided by property managers Les and Sue. With multiple years of experience living on Bequia, they know all the little secrets, all the best places to visit and where/how to get the best of anything to be had on the island. They readily shared their experiential knowledge with us, and their recommendations were bang on the money, - every time. Based on my much longer experience with my wife, I can tell you that anyone who can deal with her insatiable desire for detailed information gets an A+ in my books. Les and Sue get an A+++. The property owner Lisa was also incredibly helpful, communicative and tolerant of all the questions posed in advance of our arrival. Moreover, working in collusion, these three pulled off a huge surprise for us, keeping a booking by sister/brother-in-law in the lower apartment of Aqua a complete secret until they burst out the door just in time to pick up our lower jaws, which had fallen into the flower pots. Fortunately, we only had to tolerate this incursion for a week ;-) but we made the most of it with some great scuba diving via Dive Bequia at sites literally only a few minutes boat ride from town, a fantastic daytrip to Mayreau and the Tobago Keys, and tons of fun in the sun and surf at the local beaches.
In a nutshell our stay at Aqua was idyllic. I would recommend it in a heartbeat to anyone. We found it better than advertised and had only one small complaint which was the boom box disguised as a vehicle which passed by daily on the road in front of the house. Of course, short of some type of illegal action ;-), there is nothing anyone could really do to correct that little problem so c’est la vie!.

I vacationed on Bequia last year and have labeled it one of my top 3 island vacation spots.
My stay at Aqua on Bequia fell nothing short of wonderful which I am sure added to my experience! The staff was so friendly and hospitable and the owner Lisa was so cheery, accommodating and helpful in assisting me with “things to do”.
It is close to the beach and the harbor. A very pleasant walk, which was always met with friendly locals.
The apartment I stayed in had a warm feeling and super comfy. There is a small gym on the property, which I swore I would use but did not.
My whole experience was like a breath of fresh air!
Loved loved it!

The rooms were clean, very easy to get to from town, walking distance from the ferry and any of the beaches in Admiralty Bay. Abby and Kenny are amazing, very helpful and friendly. Lisa is a great contact and knows alot of people on the island, you may also meet Chris and Lou who have equally amazing connections. Will only stay at AQUA when I visit Bequia
