Kitchen: Please don't offer a spoon of rice as a complimentary and then charge 2 Euros for each. It leaves an unpleasant feeling Menu: Relatively high prices for very simple dishes. Not a nice experience of Italian food. Going to a real Italian restaurant would be a preferred choice Service: The rooms were clean. The WiFi can be better. The breakfast is simple but ok. The women at the reception are very friendly Environment: The environment was ok. The road to the house is very narrow. You have to be lucky not to get a car in opposite direction

The situation of this place is beautiful, in a huge meadow with a river running by in front of the accommodation. The rooms are simple, modern, minimalist but cosy in the Autumn and the bed is huge and brilliant. Good showerroom, all in perfect condition and spotless. The rooms all seem to open out into the exterior, which was good for us with a dog. It really helped that we could let him run in the big field too. You can take your dog into the restaurant, though we decided against this as ours is too young and boisterous, so left him in his bed crate in the room for an hour. We were lucky that we were there when the restaurant was open - Friday, Saturday and Sunday I think, though this is November so it may be different in the summer. The food was decent, the apple strudel with pine nuts amazing. The owner is lovely and speaks some English. I saw the reviews that complained about the dirt/stony road leading down off the road to the place. But I couldn’t see what the complaints were based on, even though it had been raining and should have been more difficult. It was fine in a heavily laden estate car. Once we set off, I was surprised to see how we went from deep countryside to the outskirts of Milan in 10 minutes.

We wanted to tour Milan without the high-priced hotels, and for the cost of a budget place in the city we found La Galizia. It is about a half hour away but it feels like another world, with a relaxed vibe and friendly staff. We had the Dovecoat Tower room for the four of us, with our teenage daughters sharing the aerie that once housed pigeons that delivered messages hundreds of years ago. The rooms have been recently refurbished, but knowing the original building is 1000 years old adds to the visit. One of the best days was the one we just relaxed on the property. There were donkeys, a horse and goats, and a friendly Australian Shepherd who herded us to the barn and back. There are chairs set out to catch the sunshine, and we sat and watched the river on a warm fall day. We had a meal in the restaurant, and it was delicious. They had a version of the menu in English, and a few on staff were multilingual. This isn't like a formal, fancy spot. You feel like you are part of the family while you are there. It was the perfect blend of well-appointed and rustic, of historic and modern. If you need to have room service at 11 p.m., this isn't the right place. But if you are ready to slow down and enjoy an Italian sunset while a dog snoozes nearby, I can't think of a better place.

An amazing agriturismo, close to Milan. Everyone we came into contact with was warm and friendly. It is a really picturesque location, and the farm has been beautifully renovated. We had a romantic suite and a deluxe twin room, both of which were spacious. It is the perfect mix of modern and traditional, keeping the features of the old buildings. Having seen the website and reviews, we timed our visit for a night restaurant was open. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night - but we will definitely be back! They even translated the new menu for us that afternoon! Not only was the food excellent, the service was just perfect - friendly, but relaxed. Too often in Italy, plates are removed as soon as the first person has finished, and it makes it feel rushed. Here, we had the time to enjoy the amazing food. Breakfast was also excellent, with lots of fresh products, including fruit, home-made jams, fruit juice, a mix of delicious breads... the official photos really do reflect the reality. We tasted the ice-creams, which alone are worth the trip! There were a lot of locals at the cafe and farm shop during the afternoon, and though we were the only guests staying that night, the restaurant was busy and had a great ambiance. To respond to the "negative" comments - yes, the access is down a narrow, stony road, which wasn't much fun... but it isn't that far, and there is a separate exit, so you don't have to worry about meeting another car in the opposite direction. Once you arrive, you won't want to leave anyway!!!

I really like agriturismos and chose this as an overnight stay before flying out of Malpensa. There were good directions over the few KMs approach which was good, as I had to rely on them, as it's between villages and I didn't know how to select GPS co-ordinates on the sat nav. Turn off the main road then it's say a gentle 1/2 a KM down a stony private lane to the site, which is near the Ticino River. Parking is easy, plentiful and free/within cost. Buildings are traditional farm type, but the rooms themselves are spectacularly modern. Lovely big beds, air con and heating, lovely shower and bathroom, but the centre piece is the jacuzzi bath with its lighting and music. On site restaurant is a lovely setting, with food and wine well presented and really tasty. You can buy their local, organic product. Staff are really friendly and helpful, there was a large party (work course, or just a birthday party or big reunion maybe) but everyone inc us and a few other parties were all served in a timely, efficient manner. We were particularly grateful for being allowed to use the office PC as the airline we flew with requires separate outward and inward check-ins. A great stay.
