Beautiful drive up to entrance, outside of the building was stunning and the setting was magical. Inside staff couldn't do enough to help, very polite, Scott has an amazing head for history. Room was spotless and cosy warm. Mealtime was well organised and the food was tasty.

Hi we visited last night to do a paranormal investigation at the castle. As we arrived the building looked very nice, the road up to the car park was very dark and so was the car park it’s self, there could be better lighting in the area and the road was covered in holes.

So we stayed here last night for a paranormal investigation. We were staying in the family room and there were 5 of us. When we arrived there were only 2 cups and 2 towels. Didn’t mention towels as we all live local and were happy to shower when we got home and we were supplied

Hi Pamela Thank you for your review and I am sorry you were dissapointed with your stay with us. Unfortunately the Castle was booked out by a company running the evening and we wouldn't normally book 5 guests into a room designed for less and normally guests dont share rooms that dont know each other. Perhaps that is something we need to make clearer to any outside supplier booking the rooms and indeed will do in future !! So thank you for making us aware of this and if we had known we would have ensured more towels were supplied of course as we would prefer you all to wash !!! We supplied the fold down bed as requested so perhaps take this up with the company you booked through ? I do however apologise for the breakfast as that should have been better and will investigate this further and vegetarian options and hot food are normally available. Thank you for your observations overall and again I am sorry you didn't enjoy your stay with us.

Fabulous exterior and views with pleasant staff. Then it all goes wrong. The room had dirty carpet and cobwebs. Rock hard uncomfortable bed, drafty dirty windows, no towel rail (or radiator) in the bathroom, previous guests wet towel in bathroom. Nowhere to put your suitacase or

I saw a couple of children when I stayed. They looked happy and content at breakfast and dinner. Lots of stairs to climb up to bedrooms but apart from that I would be happy to take my 3 year old grandson to stay there. Hope that helps.

Hi there, I will be fair minded here as I am from the area in question. I think a lot of the service and attention depends on your own previous experience. When i was at the hotel last year, I was on a driving tour of Europe, so Menstrie was one hotel our of 22 nights and 9 countries. In fairness it wasn´t too bad but it wasn´t good. Service was lousy. They may not agree but for the price in many other locations, I had a wonder experience. For example, the following evening, I stayed in the borders near Berwick, booked at 9pm at night, we, had a great night, breatfast that we picked out ourselves and it was 50 quid all in and I´d go back in a heart beat. Broomhall is a lovelly buidling in a great setting, it just needs some investment, design, and service culture put inside it.
