Two of us arrived by bicycle on a cold, wet and windy afternoon. Mandy welcomed us with smiles, tea and an offer to dry all our clothes (which we jumped at!). We were given a lovely room looking down the loch and later Mandy served up a delicious evening meal - including a pint of some amber nectar. All-in-all, a... More

Warm welcome on a rainy afternoon after a day in the saddle. Tea and biscuits on arrival. Bikes taken care of. Wet clothes dryed. Wild venison lasagne for dinner. Even happy to lend a pair of dry shoes for wandering across the road for a late night pint. Got to be the best in the Highlands.

Very welcoming host and hostess. Most enjoyable home cooked evening meal. Very comfortable bedroom with en suite. We had a lovely evening - wonderful picture windows to watch wild stags on the hill side and wild birds in the garden. A lovely stay and an early breakfast to see us on our way. Thank you very much indeed. (ps -... More

Fabulous value for money. Mandy and Lyndsay were lovely friendly hosts. Beautiful view from our bedroom. Good substantial home cooked food. Brilliant for munro baggers, cyclists, walkers and wildlife enthusiasts. Natalie and Ric - Maidenhead

After a day climbing the two local Munros and returning soaking wet we were made very welcome with tea and coffee. Our wet gear was taken away to be dried, we had a very comfortable en-suite room. The three course dinner with beer was excellent. After a very comfortable sleep and breakfast the following morning we set off dry to... More

I had cycled over 80 miles and arrived at their doorstep cold, thirsty and tired. I was helped to bring my belongings indoors and the bicycle was wheeled away for safe storage whilst I was served with a pot of tea and biscuits. My stay was in a very clean, warm and tidy bungalow which offered excellent value for money.... More

Mandy and Lindsay were very welcoming and great hosts. Very remote location with stunning views across the loch and mountains. A delicious evening meal prepared and breakfast. Comfy bed and a good shower. As there were six of us staying here we had the house entirely to ourselves. Would recommend to others. There's a bar across the road at the... More

Excellent B&B and the 3 course evening meal was terrific. Soup, Roast Lamb and Apple Crumble all for £10.00 - who could ask for more. Welcomed with a cup of tea and Maggie was so full of enthusiasm and helpful in every respect. Breakfast matched the evening meal. I stayed here by chance as the Hotels in Tongue were still... More

After short drive scenic drive from Thurso I arrived at the Altnaharra B&B and was greeted by the exceptionally friendly Maggie. Before I had even looked around I immediately felt welcomed into her residence and was at ease. To top it off, I was given some good coffee (at least four stars for that alone!) While I awaited my friends... More

Stayed here while cycle-touring in Northern Scotland. We arrived on a very windy, dull day. Our host Mandy immediately warmed our spirits with her welcome, as well as the coffee and biscuits she provided. We were delighted that we had booked an evening meal with her, which was great value and perfect for re-fueling us. Breakfast was also top-notch. We... More
