I’ve been at camp gulf for the last week and wanted to write a review of the place after reading some of the latest reviews from people not even staying here but upset about phone support or whatever issue that has nothing to do with the RV resort. I will start by saying that overall this has been one of the most amazing vacations we have ever had and the first beach vacation we have ever taken in our camper. We usually go west. The atmosphere at camp gulf is amazing. If your bringing your family, there are tons of family’s here and everyone has kids. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. Ranks right next to Barbados and the clear water was a huge surprise. There are three bath houses. All of which were clean. The grounds were spotless. Rolling hills and the back half of the park was tree lined and shaded. The sites were concrete and level and all of the utilities were within a few feet of the pad on the correct side. Pools were spotless and there’s a food truck on site. Staff were very friendly. Despite a review I read the check in was a breeze. I didn’t even have to get out of my truck. I followed a guy on a golf kart and he assisted me getting into the spot. Saved my wife and I our usual verbal altercation while parking. Truly a spectacular place and we enjoyed every minute. My advice is depending on what month you come, the beach spots might not be the best choice. They looked sooo hot. We enjoyed the shaded tree lined rear of the park. You also get more room.

I was on hold for over one and a half hours. Trying to cancel because we sold our RV. Then they charged us $150! Our reservation was not until September! They run a very bad business. No other camp ground or hotel rips you off like this. They won’t even answer their phones. Beware!

Room Tip: Make sure you are going to not sell your camper or take in the shop. There is no cancelling here....

We have been going to Camp Gulf forever - Its our go to Campground. But this time.... Starting with their phone support: It now takes at least 30 minutes to get to a person. Looks like by now they could have fixed this issue. And if you are on site - same number - same wait. Cable TV - (their tech even said it "sucks") They recently changed to a Direct TV feed. I could not connect, my neighbor beside me could not connect. I talked to several others - a few could, some went and bought a cable box. The tech will come and test it at the connection. If he can connect with his test box then the trouble has to be yours. period. I suggested that the fix by Direct TV likely would be easy - it apparently is set up to require a cable box. Some TVs have built in cable boxes and these TVs work. (reply - not their problem - works on my test box) WiFi - the access point near me did not have internet connection - you could connect to the AP but not reach the internet (normally just requires resetting the AP) An AP with very low signal strength did connect to the internet but with the low signal came un-usable speed. Bath rooms - (still above average for a campground) starting to show some lack of maintenance such as paint flaking. Also appears to be cleaned or picked up less often. Site help - they use to take you to your site and help you get backed in and connected. Now they tell you where to go. an access Point with very low signal strenth

Customer service sucks, can't reserve on website. 2hours on phone and gave up and emailed them. Got email back saying they can't do reservations via email and please use website or call. Combined with all the other negative reviews and I'm glad they didn't answer.......

We stayed 5 days and were lucky to have beautiful weather. We were close to the beach and had an ocean view. Some RVs are literally On the beach. If you are far from the beach you have more space closer to the office. The sites are a bit wider up there but a long haul to the beach. Sites are close together but we loved out site. There was a downpour on our last day and we couldn't get out as the streets flood. This seems to be common problem. We just had to wait till the water drained. The bathrooms are very clean most of the time. They clean in the a.m. Hot water is hit or miss. But good showers and nice bathroom. Pools are not heated. Wifi is not so great either.
