I am the vacation planner in the family. I pore over reviews, hopelessly translating foreign language websites in order to unearth 'hotel gold'. This, my friends, is hotel platinum. I booked us originally for two nights at Chateau Mentone. 4 hours into our stay, I was on the phone cancelling our next 2-night hotel booking elsewhere to add two nights... More

Having been lucky enough to have spent the winter in the Var, it was agony waiting for the season to start and this restaurant to re-open. We visited 3 times during April and May with family and French friends, all of whom loved the food. The menu is not so rustic as last year and is the better for it... More

We were lucky enough to have dinner one evening with some friends. The conversion of the old building into the restaurant is superb. The food is excellent and great value for money. The added bonus of the very good Bio wine at unusually realistic prices, make this a very enjoyable experience. The Sunday lunches, we are told, are great value... More

our 3 nights stay at CM was very agreeable. we enjoyed our room, our lovely breakfasts, the landscape and eating at the C´s restaurant. the location suited our plans very well as we were able to reach many different places from the C in less than 2 hours by car. we strongly recommend CM to anyone that wants to stay... Picnic lunch quite good, but the promised wine tasting couldn´t take place because of bank holiday. Dinner not very impressive, but wines were good! Breakfast very ordinary. Overall rating would be much better with improved quality of dinner and breakfast - the chateau and the surroundings are very beautiful and the suites very nice.

Our family stayed at the separate gite ("rental villa" for Americans) last June. The property is a converted old olive mill on the grounds of this beautiful chateau and vineyard and is the absolute perfect base for a family to explore Provence. The building itself is centuries old, full of character and immaculate, with four en-suite bedroom and a huge... More

My husband and I recently stayed at Chateau Mentone whilst attending a wedding elsewhere. I think we had not understood from the website that it was not a standard hotel, but was more a high end guest-house (or somewhere perhaps where you could hire the whole place for events?). Therefore, we were a bit confused by the concept, but that... More

This is an amazing venue. Fantastic welcome and wonderful environment. Accommodation modern and very clean. Stayed a week and did not want to leave. All the guests were thrilled and most stayed several days. Hope to go back some day. Very highly recommended.

Have you seen the movie "A Good Year" (with Russell Crowe)? If not, do so now. Then have a look at Chateau Mentone's website. Its not where the movie was filmed, but let me tell you - its just the same. From the moment the huge iron gates were opened for us to drive up the tree-lined driveway, we were... More

we have spent three nights in this Chateau and once crossed the gate and exceeded the tree-lined avenue of secular planes seemed truly of being entrances in a dream. The structure is encircled by vineyards (the owners produces also optimal wines of the Cote de Provence aoc) and dipped in the quiet of the countryside . The rooms are spacious... More
