We chose this little hotel on 'the secret coast' for the New Year period after researching quiet boutique rural spots as an alternative to the craziness of Hogmanay in the city. Staying in host Patricia's little hotel is like slipping on a pair of well loved warm slippers and relaxing in a friend's home, indeed we were greeted with a...

My friend and I booked the hotel from the 21st to the 25 Dec extending the original stay by one extra night to include Christmas day, we thought it would be great fun. We arrived around 5 O'clock in the afternoon after almost a 10 hour drive and more than 400 miles through thick fog and treacherous rain and hail...

We visited last weekend after purchasing a 5pm voucher. We have visited a few times previously. The room was comfortable and well furnished. The dinner in the bar was lovely as was the breakfast. The hotel staff are friendly and very helpful. It's definitely worth a visit, we will make a return visit again soon.

This is a very quaint hotel with an excellent choice of food and fantastic quality, very resonable prices and the owner Patricia is lovely, it was quiet the night my friend and I stayed however we were made very welcome by Patricia and Heather and nothing was too much trouble. They have live music some nights just keep your eye...

Very friendly accommodating staff. Cosy restaurant with log burner. The food was delicious especially Patricia's homemade beef and Guiness Pie. Dog friendly with lovely views from restaurant window across the Loch.

We took the risk of going off the grid with three teenagers, no iPads, no phones, no leaisure centres or theme parks. Just long lies, lazy days, books, jigsaws, board games, walks, conversation and great food. Who knew, our teenagers can actually get along and hold a conversation. We stayed in the Eilean Dhu self-catering house, next to the hotel,...

Just spent a night here with my parents for their anniversary. We arrived and were given a bottle of Proseco each - nice start. We were in Rooms 1 & 4 which were very cosy but we had a look at 2 & 3 and they both had stunning sea views. Had our dinner & breakfast - the food was...

This is a great pub/hotel in Colintraive, right next to the Bute ferry. Just back from our second holiday in Colintraive and ate at the pub a number of times. Patricia and her staff are so welcoming and the food and ambience a delight. Apart from spending most of my holiday ill in bed, a great time was had by...

We stayed in Colintraive recently and visited the hotel for lunch and dinner at different points through the week. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food was fantastic and they had a great wee kids menu but stretching to do a cheesey pasta not on menu for one of my particularly fussy sons wasn't a problem It's a...

We stayed here on the second night of a small group 10 day tour of Scotland (September 21, 2016). The night before we stayed in a large hotel on Grassmarket Square in Edinburgh where there was a sound of revelers until the wee hours of the morning. Here there were only the sounds of sheep. The Colintraive hotel is quite...
