Situated in the Beautiful countryside this Castle is Stunning/ Enchanting. Every detail has been take care of. There is everything you need from pots and pans to Ralph Lauren sheets, Liberty shampoo and conditioner and more. Beautiful Interior design! Come the evening we sat by the log fire and played board games. We were lucky as we had a week... More

On the first of June 2016 I had the full fairy tale wedding and Forter Castle was the perfect backdrop for this dream come true. We stayed at the castle for a magical seven days, renting out the whole place for our wedding party of 13 (including two small children!). Angela and the team worked tirelessly to meet our needs... This was the second time we have stayed at Forter Castle and it was just as good second time around. It snowed as we arrived and the Glen looked amazing, as did the surrounding hills. The castle is extremely comfortable and well set up for a large family group or 2 or 3 families to share. This is a family... More

We were a group of 12 friends who don't always get time to catch up, as often as we would like. This was the most amazing location to do so! We had a wonderful time, indoors and outdoors. Stunning location, near some beautiful hills and Glenshee. I fell in love with the kitchen, which was as well equipped as bake... More

Had a terrific weekend at Forter castle - there were 10 adults and 3 small children, loads of garden to run around outside which was all perfectly enclosed, although the stairs were risky with the children but to be expected in such an old castle! The decor is stunning - staying there was like a dream! Luxurious furnishings, sumptuous bedding,... More

We had a great weekend away at Forter castle last weekend! Lovely views and scenery all around, lots to explore in the castle and even managed to organise a Mother's Day afternoon tea, so peaceful and a great way to spend time with the family! Couldn't fault it

The wow factor of the castle never really wore off the whole weekend. The owners have done a mesmerising job of converting this once derelict castle into a thing of periodic beauty. You can't really get a feel for the grandeur of the place until you're inside but as soon as you drive round the bend and see the place... More

Many thanks for your time in posting this review. We are delighted you enjoyed your time at Forter. With regards to WiFi the router is situated in the Great Hall and this is really the only place the internet really works (although it is slow) mainly due to the thickness of the castle walls. We are pleased you got into... More

What a wonderful time we had at Forter Castle. Such an actioned-packed, memorable weekend for my husband's 60th with friends - quad biking, story-telling & whisky tasting, shooting day at the castle with the lovely Charles Cran-Crombie which was so much fun - he even brought his guitar and strummed a few songs in the Great Hall during lunch. We stayed here with a group of friends, all in our 30's. Days were spent by the fire playing games, walking, archery and at a nearby pub. The stay was unlike any I'd been on before, it was magical and a long weekend I'll remember forever.
