Detailed Reviews
Hired the whole lodge for our annual family holiday. Carolyn made us extremely welcome . She was always available for anything we needed whilst making our stay completely private too.
The accommodation was spotlessly clean and the beds were much more comfortable than the beds we are used to in this type of accommodation. The Kitchen was perfectly equipped and the lounge was great for us all to have our games night .The ensuite rooms are definitely a bonus.
The outside space was great for the kids ball games and a beautiful place to sit and watch the animals and amazing views.
Many thanks Carolyn

Stayed as a family. Bunkbeds comfy and warm room with own shower and toilet. Nice big shared kitchen with all that you need. Washing machine v helpful after muddy walk. Lovely dogs and host. Lounge for everyone with some games. 2km walk to Pembrokshire coast path. Also recommend coasteering with Celtic Quest. A great stay. Sloop Inn at Porthgain is great.

We have stayed on average once or twice a year since 2002 and are looking forward to our 10th year coming back to a home from home .
It is like coming to visit friends, great area, no shops, but fantastic accommodation great facilities. It is now coming to a friends in which you give a donation to looking after us. They have worked hard for a number of years , its brilliant , peaceful, quiet , no TV, no radio , no papers .
It is paradise even on a wet and cold day .
Please do go along , am am loathed to share , but feel I must do.
Just leave room 1 for us .

Caerhafod Lodge is situated perfectly on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Very scenic views. The dorm was very tidy and large enough, while the owner was very friendly and helpful. Excellent pricing for the low-budget traveller! It had been pouring all day so you can imagine our relief when we came up on this beautiful lodge! Highly recommended.

This was our first time staying at Caerhafod Lodge near Llanrhian in Pembrokeshire and we had a great time. We were in a four bedded dorm and the room was clean, spacious and had lovely views of Porthgain and the bay. This year, we'd planned a dog-holiday and had chosen Caerhafod because the hostel welcomed dogs. This was a good choice. Carolyn, the proprietor, made us feel very welcome with our little dog. Kitchen facilities are good and the kitchen is cleaned everyday. There was clean bed linen on arrival. There are also washing and drying facilities if you need to do any washing. The hostel is very comfortable and we would certainly recommend Caerhafod Lodge to anyone interested in staying in Pembrokeshire. We plan to return there one day as we met really nice people and had a good time.

What a surprise! A great value, clean, comfortable and welcoming hostel with beautiful views. Plenty of room for rucksacks and boots and all the stuff of a walking holiday making it ideal accommodation for the Coastal Path which is close by, plus the bus stops right outside if needed.
A word of warning though; there are no shops nearby (at least from a walker's distance perspective) so arrive with your food if self catering. If eating out , breakfast and other meals can be taken in Trevin.
A big thank you to the very friendly and helpful owner Carolyn. Keep going; it was a great stay!

Everything about this place was, for us, perfect. Its beautifully situated. Very quiet. Its comfortable. They don't play silly nonsense by making you pay for a timed out shower - a personal pet peeve of hostels and campsites. Accommodation was great. Lovely owner was friendly and most accommodating. There was wifi so far as I recall. Overally loved our stay and would come back. Thank you for having us!

Our group of 18 hired the whole hostel early in August. This is an ideal location and accommodation arrangement. The bedrooms are nicely furnished with bunks-singles, all en-suite but the real plus is the good sized communal room (easily converted for a small ceilidh) and the superb views over the Irish Sea. There is a well equipped kitchen- diner which to be fair doesn't quite seat 18 comfortably but hey, we all squeezed in. The location is remote but there is a 25 min walk down to a beautiful harbour side village (with excellent pub and restaurant and industrial history) and pubs within easy 10min drive. And the delights of st David's are 20 min away. A brilliant location and digs. ( caerhafod would be improved if there was a part of the meadow actually laid out flat for games, footie etc)
