My wife and I stayed at the Bell with close friends for two nights including New Year's Eve on an inclusive Dinner B&B package. We arrived at 4.00 on the 31st and settled into our rooms, which were comfortable and well furnished (a half-tester bed in one) with nice touches like a thermos flask of fresh milk. The evening started...

Me and my fiancé stayed at the Bell over the Christmas period and had a truly wonderful time. We arrived on 24th and left on the morning of the 26th on a package designed by the hotel. We stayed in Barret's Bane which was a lovely surprise as the room was a lot bigger than we expected and very comfortable...

My expectations were high having heard so much about The Bell and not having visited for over 20 years. I was not disappointed. Despite the slight air of nonchalance as we entered the premises (yes a better welcome would have been appreciated), and a slight feeling of having to prompt for menus etc., when we settled in by the fire...

We had been to The Bell a couple of years ago and couldn't wait to come back. There was a brief confusion over the room we had booked when we arrived, but the inestimable Maria resolved it with grace and efficiency, and gave us a completely unexpected treat on our last night - thank you Maria, it was unforgettable! Richard...

We were delightd to return and find out the Bell is still how we remeber it-amazing. Excellent food served by very friendly staff in an intimate setting. The wine list is even bigger now-must come back and explore it even further. I would highly recommend it! Many thanks to everyone who made our visit extra special.

We visited this traditional country Inn earlier this summer, and received a friendly, warm welcome. The staff were all extremely polite and professional, checking regularly to ensure our group were well looked after. The food was well presented and enjoyable. We now look forward to staying here during the Christmas period!

It's such a shame that this pretty inn on the river in a pretty village isn't a more friendly place. We have been here a few times for a meal and also just for a drink. On each occasion the food has been ordinary. I expected something better for the price that is charged. The service is not good and...

We have been to the Bell several times previously and have been pleased with the pub meals, normally on a Sunday Lunch. Last Sunday we booked and for Lunch. My wife likes a cream sherry normally Harveys but they didn't have any, they had a Croft but she isn't really keen on that. They offered her a "really sweet" sherry...

We are also bitterly disappointed having bent over backwards to find what you were looking for. We brought 6 different sherries to the table and invited you to try them all, I don't imagine many places these days would stock anything like that amount of Sherry which has been sadly unfashionable for many years now. It turned out you wanted...

A leisurely Saturday lunch after a long, sunny autumn walk up the beautiful Monnow valley, and before ambling over to the impressive castle and church (both special). The atmosphere was great, and we had a very nice pre-booked table tucked away in a light corner. Fabulous nuts. The food was fine for what we wanted, more than just solid fare...
