We had a fabulous couple of days walking in the black mountains with our two Vizslas. Every evening we returned to this welcoming place. The rooms were clean and comfortable although may need a little updating. The food was delicious but quite expensive and we enjoyed time outside in the sunshine on the patio. Wonderful walks - details at reception.

Booked for lunch mid week, although reviews were good our meals were mediocre to say the least, home made sausage roll starter was a 2 inch sausage roll very dry definitely microwaved as meat was rubbery on edges. Batter on cod main meal was burnt, Not one to complain but prices are very expensive and these were not difficult meals...

I visited the Bell with two friends to celebrate a big birthday! Nothing was too much trouble, including chilling the champagne that we had brought along ourselves. The rooms are fabulous, very clean and sumptuous. The food was great, with attention to local produce. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable - with great customer service skills. I didn't...

We hadn't booked in advance, so found it difficult to find anywhere in the area to eat. The Bell were very helpful, though couldn't give us a definite time, but said they would be able to fit us in, with the dog, at some point. Eventually did, after quite a (comfortable) wait. Lovely convivial atmosphere, very welcoming to dogs (...

Arrived late! It was a struggle to get there but really worth it! Took a larger room for a family of four! Two camp beds for the kids, plenty of room! Excellent restaurant, great food and wine list! The staff were exceptional; a real appreciation of old fashioned customer service which makes the Bell stand out for me! Long walks...

My wife and I stayed at the Bell with close friends for two nights including New Year's Eve on an inclusive Dinner B&B package. We arrived at 4.00 on the 31st and settled into our rooms, which were comfortable and well furnished (a half-tester bed in one) with nice touches like a thermos flask of fresh milk. The evening started...

Me and my fiancé stayed at the Bell over the Christmas period and had a truly wonderful time. We arrived on 24th and left on the morning of the 26th on a package designed by the hotel. We stayed in Barret's Bane which was a lovely surprise as the room was a lot bigger than we expected and very comfortable...

My expectations were high having heard so much about The Bell and not having visited for over 20 years. I was not disappointed. Despite the slight air of nonchalance as we entered the premises (yes a better welcome would have been appreciated), and a slight feeling of having to prompt for menus etc., when we settled in by the fire...

We had been to The Bell a couple of years ago and couldn't wait to come back. There was a brief confusion over the room we had booked when we arrived, but the inestimable Maria resolved it with grace and efficiency, and gave us a completely unexpected treat on our last night - thank you Maria, it was unforgettable! Richard...
