What a great place to visit! Wonderful accommodations that included a boat to run around in, good food, friendly staff and the water is the clearest I have ever seen. It was so fun to see the pigs, the iguanas, snorkel, fish, lobster (we caught enough lobster for dinner). We are planning our next visit!

We love Staniel, this is such a special place! We brought our boat from Fort Lauderdale to the marina there, and our daughter was able to fly in and out on Makers Air and join us. Everyone at the Yacht Club is so friendly, the food at the restaurants is really good, and the Peanut Coladas are not to be missed in the bar! We had Thanksgiving dinner there last year in the formal dining room and it was excellent, reservations required. We just love the whole casual atmosphere, the beautiful water and so many activities nearby, and the great restaurants and bar. Such a fun and relaxing place to visit, we highly recommend!

Hi 607lisap! Thanks for the 5-star review of Staniel Cay Yacht Club! Easy access in and out of Staniel Cay via Makers Air (3 flights per day!) makes visiting the Yacht Club a breeze. Thank you for the recommendation and we really hope you get back to us soon!

Further to reading the last review regarding the price increase, I felt it necessary to write this review.
We stayed at the yacht club in January of this year for the first time and had the most magical, dreamy stay. Talking to other visitors, it became evident that people return year after year which all the staff seemed to pride themselves on.
We are looking to return and are shocked to see the room rates have basically doubled. In January this year we paid $474 per night for Orange villa which included tax and our meals. The same accommodation is now $875!!
Whilst totally understanding rising prices, this seems more than an acceptable increase. The villas are comfortable and rustic, we wouldn’t say luxury.
Unfortunately, sadly this is now not in our budget to return which is extremely disappointing after such a wonderful stay.
I suggest you review your prices.

On behalf of the owners and management at the Staniel Cay Yacht Club we'd like to thank you for taking the time to share your comments here. Our room rates are determined by several factors, including operating costs and market demand. For many years, we avoided passing along cost increases to our guests even though our costs to operate the resort increased yearly. However, to maintain and improve the quality of the Staniel Cay Yacht Club, a price increase was recently unavoidable. We are proud of our team and the quality of product and service we provide, and the new prices are aligned with the experience of SCYC. To those who are reading this review in search of a vacation rental, we hope you won't allow this review to dissuade you from contacting or visiting us, and allowing us the sincere privilege of showing you why the Staniel Cay Yacht Club has been the choice of thousands of satisfied visitors for many years. Thank you for your time, and we hope to hear from you soon.

The quality of the food is very poor. Surprised they even purchase that quality of food. The kids chicken tender meat was poor quality we did not eat it.
Poor quality of the fries as well on both kids and adult meals. It could be the quality of the oil they use. Based on the food I’m guessing it’s the cheapest oil.
The onion rings were clustered together it tasted like a ball of fried breading.
Drunk are pricy but to be expected. Around $16 each but they are in very small cups now. They reduced their cup size from about 2 years ago when we were there last. I only know this bc we have the frosted plastic logo cups still from our last visit. I do remember the food not being good last time but we thought we’d give it a try again. Gratuity was included in our bill and when we did not leave additional money the attitude of the female waitress immediately changed. We would only return for drinks only and if we were wanting social environment. Highly unlikely we would go back. Save yourself the money and stomach ache.
We are a group in our late 40s. Visit the Bahamas reguarly.

Hello KHRJ16 - we are truly sorry you had such a poor dining experience with us! Our dining offering is usually a very positive aspect of our guests' stay so we are very disappointed that we failed to meet your expectations. We can assure you that we use only high quality ingredients in our dishes but something was obviously off at the time of your visit and we hope you will give us the opportunity to provide our normal, fantastic dining experience for you in the future.

In the dining room, the food is delicious, the service is great and theres a good chance you will be overcharge. Three out of 4 times our bill has been way higher than the menu stated. Tonight surf and turf was supposed to be $56, they charged $80. After they corrected that they still had the $58 bottle of wine at $75. At this rate it hardly seem accidental. And btw gratuity is included.

Hello LaMarinera, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your billing difficulties staying with us. We are not in the habit of intentionally overcharging our guests, but with your experience, we can understand why you might feel that way! But we can assure you, this was completely accidental and we sincerely apologize. Since receiving your comments, we have done a comprehensive review of pricing in our POS system to ensure that this does not happen again. We're glad we were able to rectify the billing errors and hope you give SCYC another chance to impress you! As you said, the food is delicious, the service is great, and we will do SO much better next time. We truly hope to see you again.

Stayed here for one night. Staniel Cay is one of the nicest islands in the Bahamas and a great jump-off point for tours. We walked from the airport (10 minutes). Quick and super friendly check-in, the waterfront huts/cottages we had were new with a very tasteful interior design and a deck that overlooked the marina. Restaurant food was excellent and bar was a happening place mostly due to boaters. Room rates are high, even by Bahamas standards. Overall, I'd rank this in the top 5 places (out of 100+) that I have visited in the Caribbean & Bahamas.

My wife and I have been going to Staniel Cay Yacht Club For 20 years. I prepaid 50% for my room 1 year in advance and the final payment was made 30 days prior to our trip. I needed to make a slight change in my reservation 2 weeks prior to the trip and was told that they would not honor my prepaid rate. They doubled my prepaid room rate and refused to give me a refund. My choice was to forfeit my prepayment or pay double. Customer NO SERVICE!!!! The new prices do not warrant the below standard accommodations and run down boats. Total lack of privacy due to the number of tour boats Staniel caters to now. People walking up on our porch and deck. We were unable to park our boat in our designated spot because the staff allowed tour boats and guides to dock in paying guests reserved spots. The old price was for quaint not luxury. Now luxury price for subpar accommodations and amenities.

Hello jlg3golf, Thank you for taking the time to share your comments here on TripAdvisor and even more for being willing to cooperate with our team on reaching a mutually beneficial conclusion. As you know, everything has to be flown into Staniel Cay, or arrive by boat, which leads to higher costs and therefore prices. Unfortunately, your request to upgrade to the Package Plan was affected by not just one, but two price increases since the time you originally booked your reservation. In light of this, we modified your nightly rate to the rate that was in place prior to the most recent increase in July, and have refunded you the difference. As mentioned in another response, for many years, we have avoided passing along cost increases to our guests even though our costs to operate the resort increased yearly. However, to maintain and improve the quality of the Staniel Cay Yacht Club, recent price increases were unavoidable. To those who are reading this review in search of a vacation rental, we hope you won't allow this review to dissuade you from contacting or visiting us, and allowing us the sincere privilege of showing you why the Staniel Cay Yacht Club has been the choice of thousands of satisfied visitors for many years!

Booked our all inclusive package to celebrate the big 5-0, but felt as if we were on our honeymoon instead! We loved our cozy accommodations. The food was always tasty and served hot. The boxed lunches for our daily boat excursions were perfect for beach picnics. Thank you SCYC for your hospitality, sharing your beautiful island, providing well groomed grounds, and making each day easy and fun. We shall return, dreaming of those peanut-coladas until then!

We absolutely loved most of the experience staying at Staniel Cay. The food was incredible. The staff was great, especially in the restaurant. We loved exploring in our boat every day and had the best picnics while island hopping. The views and sunsets were spectacular and it was in seeing all the beautiful yachts.

I want to give this resort a five star, but the reason for a three start review boils down to sleep quality. Our cottage was darling and aesthetically, very appealing. We stayed in two different cottages while we were there for Christmas, moving from the first cottage after the first night (only because we extended our trip and came a day early). Both beds had some of the hardest mattresses we have ever slept on. I have had spinal surgery and I was absolutely miserable each night. My back felt like it was breaking each morning and I tossed and all night each night. My husband was uncomfortable too. In addition, the pillows were feather pillows and were flat as pancakes - even if you stacked 2-3. The beds also had down feather comforters with just a sheet on them - IN THE CARIBBEAN! I’m going through menopause and this combination, at the beach especially, is a hard no for me. I did ask for a thin blanket instead of a down comforter and was brought a polyester feeling blanket that was small and barely covered the bed. That said, it was still a great place and we really liked most of it. I just wished they would improve the sleeping experience so we can come back again. At this point, I wouldn’t be able to, knowing I wouldn’t be able
to sleep for days. My suggestion would be to have some mattress toppers in storage for these situations and also have better pillow and bedding options.

Depends on what you drink. If you want a beer at the bar or for your boat, purchase the local beer for about $3.50 each. All other beer is $7 to $8 each. Wine is a little more and mixed drinks $10-15 each. The rooms do have a small fridge so you can purchase at the local liquor & grocery stores for less.
