This motel is quiet, clean, and still recovering from the hurricane in 2015. Ask for a room on the second floor, not ground level. Make sure the AC works before unpacking your stuff! Hot water is a relative term here. You need a room close to the office if WiFi is important.

Still recovery fro hurricane. Rooms nice enough though bath fixtures corroded. Great sunset views from balcony. People were friendly, except peaches, the bartender. She was ok but a bit gruff. Food was plentiful home cooking. Bar was poorly stocked. Few amenities and nothing nearby. We were there to dive and were not disappointed. 17 great dives. Crew and dive master... More

We just returned from another wonderful dive trip to the Riding Rock. We always call this our "No Brains Trip" because Michelle and the Williams family take all the guess work out our trips to their resort. As you know, San Salvador was hit by hurricane Joaquin last October. Since that time the Williams family has rallied to get the... More

Dear Lisa: We can’t wait to have you back! We are very proud of the renovations – we know we have a few more repairs to make before we are at 100%, but good to know nothing marred your enjoyment of your stay. We’ll make sure all the family and staff are aware of the kudos! More

Before I go into this review I must first preface that this island is still recovering from a major storm with Hurricane Joaquin. Upon my arrival I was greeted at the airport and transported to the property by Michelle who was great. After issuing my keys she let me and my colleague borrow her personally owned vehicle to go to... More

Dear JM: Thanks for recognizing the effort Michelle, the owner, made on your behalf. We are a bit puzzled about your comments concerning your room, which was a free upgrade from the Standard Poolside room to a Deluxe Room. The Standard Poolside rooms are not being rented to guests, only to the work crews still on property, until repairs are... More

Riding Rock got hit hard last October by Joaquin. They are currently restoring the resort from the extensive damage. The new dining room and bar are big and beautiful. Peaches loves her new bar and is there to welcome all with her beautiful big smile. Michelle and crew are working diligently to assure a warm, welcome visit. The kitchen staff... More

Joaquin gave us a punch for sure but also a great excuse to renovate the dining room and bar area! You were our first guests and divers back since we reopened, so we are so glad to know you had such a good time. We still have a few repairs to make but only minor and not to the any... More

A very relaxed resort on a special Caribbean island was enjoyed by our group of divers in early 2015. Rooms were comfortable, clean, safe and opened to ocean side balcony we forever had doors wide open for beautiful view and the sound of the surf all night lulled us to sweet dreams. The very friendly and down to earth staff... More

Great trip. Riding Rock is enough off the beaten path that crowds are nonexistent. The water and beaches are amazing. Diving is fantastic. Lots of reef life and beautiful topography. We saw sharks on every dive and even spotted an occasional hammerhead. Food was good. I would have liked more fish or vegetarian options on the menu. Staff is friendly... More

We just got back from a week at the Riding Rock Inn and Marina. The diving with Guanahani Divers was one of the best dive experiences. Schultz and Hogan were knowledgeable and made sure that each dive was not only unique, but also safe. The night dive was one of the best I have ever been on. The boat was... More

Hogan the dive master was incredible!!! Diving was like no where else!!!! Sharks! Sharks! Breathtaking reefs and wall dives!!!! Resort old and worn, falling down and dangerous in a few spots. We did not drink the water. Food ok...lots of fried, not much fresh items. The conch chowder they serve every lunch is addictive. Drinks expensive in the little bar... More
