Club Med Columbus in the Bahamas garners high praise for its energetic atmosphere and diverse amenities, with guests particularly enjoying the inclusive water sports and the hotel's stunning beaches. While the majority of travelers appreciate the professional service and the resort's cleanliness, a few have experienced occasional inattentiveness from the staff and desire room updates.
Although views from the rooms are breathtaking, noise levels and outdated decor have been noted as downsides. Mixed opinions on the overall value are evident, with the inclusive nature of the resort's offerings being a highlight, despite some services carrying additional costs.

3rd stay in Columbus between 2014 and 2023. A unique location on a white sand beach with turquoise water, a 5-minute walk from the airport which causes no noise pollution! Excellent catering throughout the stay, particularly for the meal on December 24 by the swimming pool.
Only 3 downsides: - the sand fleas which invite themselves into the rooms and which bite, bite, bite… - The price of excursions, notably the red parasols, the one which replaces the High Cay outing, the price of which is indecent $260 per person, which brings the outing to more than $1,000 for a family of 4!!!! - An endless wait upon departure at the airport: more than an hour outside in the sun without any bottle of water and without any club representative.
On the other hand, a big thank you to the entire GO team and especially to:
- Simone for her fishing during sports classes, - Noa for her Yoga classes including those on the pontoon between the setting sun and the moon. Total disconnection guaranteed!!! - Max for his lively sports courts, his good humor and his attention, - To the sailing team including Felix always available, - To Lorenzo for his enthusiasm, his presence, his sense of animation (Lorenzo following in the footsteps of Youssef T for sure!!!!) - To Bibi for her immense smile, her spontaneity and her good humor, - To Joshua on excursions who has always displayed his superb smile for years, - To Quentin from the management department but who knows how to get fully involved in his role as GO and who is great in shows, - And of course a thank you to the power of 10 to ISABELLE!! Good humor, attention, empathy, humor from 7 a.m. during swimming to pool supervision, exchanges during meals, shows and the atmosphere during the evenings. Isabelle is everywhere and always with a smile ;-) THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

Club Med Colombus benefits from a perfect location, the beach is magnificent, the place is really very pleasant.
Good points: - A special thank you to the SPA team, for their kindness and the quality of their work: Shelshey, Nicolas, Dancel, Kerry, Anya and Lethera. - Kevin was able to unite a team around him, everyone feels involved, even the first time I see the GOs and the village chief pick up a glass lying around or clear a plate. The team is very pleasant: how can we not mention Lorenzo for his kindness, Sophie for her pep, Zach for his smile, Audrey for her work at the reception. - The rooms are spacious and clean. - The aqua gym: at 11:45 a.m. it's the fun and sporty meeting with Max, Simone, Isabelle, Zac, Reese and Sophie. - The shows are still getting underway for some, but we can feel everyone's investment. - Well done to the bar team: Juliette and Zac make wonderful cocktails. - Thanks to Isabelle for her pleasant management of the pool, her sympathy and her contagious good humor. - The La Pinta restaurant offers an à la carte menu, which provides a change from the usual buffet. There is also the possibility of eating there for lunch, the setting is idyllic with a view of the turquoise sea.
Point of improvement : - Location of the room: I had requested a sea view, this was respected, but the sea view does not counteract the "disadvantages" linked to its location. Room 602 is located between the theater, the beach bar and the pétanque courts: so between the show rehearsals until midnight with loud music, the cries of people (often drunk) playing pétanque below your window and the beach bar until 1 a.m., you forget the tranquility. - You have to come back earlier from the pool/beach to take your shower before 6 p.m., because after that there is no water pressure, or no hot water, or no cold water, because everyone takes a shower at the same time and it doesn't seem to be planned. - The rooms and bathrooms deserve to be refreshed. - The food is not bad, but it could be better, everything is a bit similar. However, the buffet is a notch higher on the day of the white party. - The island of San Salvador is very beautiful but there are not a thousand things to do, Club Med is not responsible for this, but it is worth mentioning. The excursions offered by the club are overpriced and to get to the Marina you will have to walk for an hour.

13th stay in this corner of paradise at the same time (end of January) and still the same enchantment. Undeniably what makes the charm of this village remains its location and the remarkable site on the edge of one of the most beautiful beaches CLUB MED as well as the access by direct flight from Orly and less than two minutes of transfer to the village by bus or on foot) Friendly village on a human scale and always a very good atmosphere between GM from the beginning to the end of the stay, varied and good quality food (let's never forget that we are on a "deserted" island and that 100% of the food is imported by containers), the view from the Pinta restaurant during lunch is breathtaking. Hats off to Sophie (tennis) and Isabelle (life Guard) for their dynamism, their good humor and their empathy towards the GMs, it’s remarkable. In the points of attention and by way of comparison compared to its last years, the GO team as a whole is significantly less invested and present vis-à-vis the GMs (during meals, at aperitifs, etc.) , the village chief Kevin is friendly and outgoing but not necessarily present during the day, the cleanliness of the village is clearly deteriorating (because the GMs are undoubtedly more and more undisciplined themselves but also undoubtedly due to a lack of staff ), apart from a lick of paint recently carried out, this village needs a serious renovation in terms of the rooms and in particular the bathrooms given its 4 Tridents classification, the ground floor rooms entitled "superior sea view" do not have only the name, mine was devoid of furniture (see photo) and the price offered is just out of the question. In summary, apart from a remarkable site and good conviviality between GM, Club Med must quickly question this village in terms of renovation (or pricing policy) and overall takeover of the site, it Its future is undoubtedly at stake in the face of other complexes which offer significantly more high-end Caribbean hotel infrastructures at significantly more competitive prices and completely equivalent in terms of entertainment, this lack of local investment seems incredible in the face of to this gem.

very dilapidated room lamps in the middle of the bed which makes you bump when you move in the bed. cleanliness of the rooms all depends on who is the maid there was an extra and another one that did the minimum union and again..... quality level price it is much too expensive and quality does not exist! unfortunately this year the polar cold (two fingers from seeing penguins land on the beach) over 15 days could bathe 3 x .of the cold wind the sea very strong and water far from being hot like other years at the same time. the go were nice a big thank you to Batiste entertainment manager and Anna from the reception she is adorable Luca village chef very present and a big thank you to Brad who is a real bartender he knows how to make cocktails....Brad should train the other bartenders at least a good part of them because cocktails level they are not gifted there must be very few good bartender in this club they must be between 3-4 who really know this trade. the bar verve over 14 days opened that 4 x whereas the previous years it was open every night it is the only bar where you can drink in real glass and not in plastic beach glasses so very disappointed. the dishes in general chipped must look a long time before finding a plate or a cup or a bowl not chipped . coffee machines often broke down at lunch and in the evenings we often had to ask for small spoons, wifi often cut even the premium the go the only evening or we could have the pleasure to eat with them it was the last night of our trip so we find it a shame because that's what makes it the club med to be able to share with the go there was more white sugar for more than a week (after leaving so I don't know if they handed over white sugar ) there are more cats apparently they chased them and so mice we start taking the place

Paradise beach despite the lack of deckchairs. Impossible to sleep in and find a deckchair after 8am. Where are the holidays if you have to get up at 8 a.m.? I don't pay 5600 euros for a week for two to have such a service. When you find a deckchair, bathroom glasses on the shelves and if you are lucky enough to find one, it is all sticky. Don't forget to stock up on beach towels, because at certain times of the day they run out.
The food is worthy of a canteen as is the table service. We have to clear the plates ourselves and go get water. We drink from plastic glasses at the restaurant. In the evening, tables outside are subject to payment and even if you want to reserve, priority is given to regulars who leave tips. From 3 p.m. it's a mess around the pool to set up the VIP tables, which report to the Club, I thought it was all inclusive. La Pinta is a so-called gourmet restaurant, but lousy at lunchtime and in the evening. Burger at lunchtime and Hummus board in the evening... with the famous Himalayan salt, that's the high-end so advocated by ClubMed, it's a joke!
The DJ is non-existent with deplorable music, it feels good when GMs take the decks. Because yes now at the club it is the GMs who take the decks.
The room is cleaned every other day and even when it is done it is dirty (ashtray not emptied, no bottle of water, no towel)
At breakfast in the morning, you have to queue for coffee (only one machine for the whole club). Plastic cups to take your orange juice, no small spoons.
The Boutique (Franchisee) so goodbye to your Gift-pass! The salespeople jump on you, even to try on a swimsuit they almost go into the cabin!
The two Guest-Relations apart from giving you their WhatsApp do not expect anything from them during the stay.
The lousy gold evening with a village chief who doesn't even take the microphone. Non-existent village chief, where are the GOs? She is not even present in the evening at the Bar, in front of the restaurant….. all the GOs go to bed or party in their neighborhood from 10 p.m., ultimately they are the ones on vacation. A passage to the beach and she disappears.
The white evening, I didn't know yet, it's a champagne fountain at 9 p.m. during the meal but it's decoration. Because no one gets a cut. And the show is worthy of a 12-year-old child’s fair.
Thank you all the same to Maxence and Faustin fortunately you are present, you are the leaders of this village.
Long live Green-Bashing with metal cans for water in the bedroom.
I dreamed of coming back to this village, I did it 7 years ago, at 1800€ for the week of August 15 and 150€ for the High Cay excursion, now 2700€ for the week and 270€ for High Cay, almost 100% d increase and less service! Club Med is over! This is purely a hold-up!
ClubMed wake up! exorbitant prices with services that are not at all up to the standard, be consistent in your services and do not let the GMs suffer games of Russian roulette from one village to another. The old ones are not finding their way and neither are the new ones. Where is the move upmarket apart from the price increases from year to year?

For our first time at Club Med, and the amount of money we spent for this trip, my husband and I were very disappointed with the following: 1. We had two double bed mattresses stuck together and the mattress was caved in/springs worn out which made sleeping VERY uncomfortable!! 2. The resort was huge, and there were no signs or directions indicating where to find the location of the room #'s, making it very difficult and long to find the room. 3. Where our room was located, we were nearby La Pinta restaurant (beautiful place), however it would be nice for the guests to have a pool in case they don't enjoy going to the beach. 4. The lighting at night heading back to the rooms was not very well lit, thus making it very difficult to see. 5. With regards to the boutique, items were overpriced (e.g. a toothbrush cost $5.50 USD).
The food and service was great at Christopher's buffet, great quality and quantity, always fresh food and big variety to choose from. The maid cleaning service was great (very friendly staff and helpful).

3rd stay in this club enjoying a magnificent beach and sea. If the 2 trips had been magical, we found this one very disappointing. The rooms are aging but OK for showering and sleeping. The reception has no concept of the service and just says "impossible" regardless of the request. The main restaurant does not have the level of a 4 tridents: buffets with little variety and very basic with the impression of the end of the season and emptying of stocks. Restaurant La Pinta: despite Max who struggles and does what he can, lunch buffets with a very limited choice, and not refilled regularly. Appetizing little casseroles but under the lid of white rice or pasta! Bar team nice enough but out of mint for several days or empty beer barrels and I'm asked to come back in 20 minutes... Bar de la pinta: 2 espresso machines broken so 2 self-service capsule machines…. No more capsules on the 3rd day until the end of the week. A double room with only one bedside table and reception's refusal to put in a second one. Dirty village with glasses that remain for hours without being cleared. Plastic and paper towels around the swimming pool and restaurant…. A village team leader who is non-existent and not up to the task. I heard her tell complaining GMs “she’s doing what she can.” I will stop at the negative points but there are others. Such a beautiful village where we had incredible stays (the last one in 2019 before Covid).... What a waste and big disappointment.

The location is a cliché in the best sense of the word: crystal-clear turquoise water, pristine white sands, sunny skies. The site is clean well-maintained: rooms, restaurants, swimming pool, and other facilities. Water sports are great, and the team there is very helpful. Special shout-out to Jacob, the chill Canadian catamaran instructor, and PO, who gave a great intro lesson to wing surfing, and was very patient in the water watching us trying to, well, wing it. The snorkling trip to a nearby shipwreck was fascinating. Food is fully up to the club med standards - kudos to the chef and his team! If you like fresh seafood, you'll be very happy, and even if you don't, don't worry, you won't go hungry... The bar is well stocked, and the barmen know their work and are very friendly. Special mention to Shirley, who's cheerful smile and attitude contributed greatly to the atmosphere at the bar.

We had a great family holiday with children aged 6, 7 and 10 in Columbus Isle The spot is beautiful, surrounded by nature and yet 5 min from the airport (don’t panic there are only 3 planes per week!) The beach stretches as far as the eye can see you will find the corner that suits you ... close to the beach bar for music and quick access to cocktails thanks to the bar team including Ari and Sasha who regaled us (thanks for the special Sasha!) ... or close to the nautical base to try the Wing foil or sailing with Jakob and the other GOs always ready to get wet for you in the literal sense of the word! (De-salting course in practical version!) ... or just in front of the pool to alternate salt water and clear water under Liam and Anabelle’s supervision always in a good mood even to take the children who dive too hard ... or near the pétanque and volleyball court to be on time at tournaments organized by Benji always to the full ... or even further to feel alone in the world!!! Practicality no sand fleas or mosquito bites at home and beautiful and warm weather with only qq showers on the last day (we must have been lucky!!) A word of advice: to go eat at La Pinta or do snorkelling I advise you to do it early to have room! Thanks to Luca and Micka always present and very considerate for the management of this week at the top! Thanks to DJ Charles for the evenings and coffee games ... special dedication to Micka and her rules ... um moving 😂 In short a club and a GO team to recommend without hesitation for this season .. we just went home that we would already like to go back!

Stay with family and friends this August at the Columbus Med Club, which we know well having been there several times. We come here for the exceptional beach, the turquoise sea, the adorable Bahamian staff and the GO/GM atmosphere where many find themselves year after year. We found the first 3 points and the kindness and efficiency of the restaurant staff, some of whom have been there for more than 10 years, but unfortunately this year the infrastructure and a certain lack of organization displeased and surprised us. The air conditioning in the rooms was out of order for more than a week despite repeated requests and interventions by maintenance during peak heat (45 degrees Celsius!). The water in the shower flowed at a very low flow and without pressure!. The organization of the main restaurant lacked a captain on board and the ship sank a little more every day: first week no mint, annoying to make Mojitos!!, avocados or tomatoes!. Coffee ok, grapefruit ok and second week more than decaffeinated, grapefruit finished, avocado as rare as caviar but the mint has reappeared!!, The fault of the container which did not arrive, we are told!! Perhaps we should have anticipated and replaced the manager who left in June!!! and is this our problem for these full weeks and at a high price? Out of 3 coffee machines, one broke down and unfortunately not repaired in 2 weeks and one only delivered coffee and hot water!!. In the morning, at noon and in the evening no restocking, you had to tell the so-called manager, Dwight, but waiting 20 minutes for it to be restocked and the anticipation in all that?!. Only the La Pinta restaurant run by a true professional, Max was really very well run and with impeccable service and above all a friendly welcome and a smile. Because yes, the smile and even the hello were absent at the reception, it took a clarification from the village head so that we found these essential and expected bases everywhere and especially at Club med In short, if a real overhaul and above all real service professionals are not recruited, (rather than a GO language teatcher!!!), this gem, this beach and this magnificent place will no longer be enough to keep us coming in Columbus.

yes, unless you want to use the puddle jumper to Nassau or fly/sail yourself. otherwise you're at the mercy of the three weekly charter flights (Miami, Montreal, Paris)
The whole resort pretty much shuts down after 10 PM. There was only 1 night that the Disco was loud and that’s in the area that’s the beach grill during the day, over the dive center.
There weren’t a lot of children a week ago when I was there and didn’t see any specific programs for children. The pool is on the smaller side the resort is big and beautiful, but we found the GOs rude and inattentive. The tennis courts were nice though.
There are more places to choose from in the San Salvador area.
