My husband and I are frequent travelers to Green Turtle Cay and only recently discovered Linton's Beach Cottages. The property is extensive, private, meticulously maintained by the staff and you feel as if you have lived there all your life, the styling is so comfortable. There are three cottages, and we have stayed in both the Sea Grape cottage on the atlantic beach side and also in the Harbour Cottage on Black Sound. Both were wonderful, private and luxurious. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking supplies making grilling our daily catch a great option to the Bahamian restaurants in New Plymouth. We rented a golf cart, which was wonderful - as do most visitors - for running into town and exploring the island (all 3 miles of it ;)

What we like the most about Linton's was the privacy of not being right next to a house or condo full of unknown types, along with the care the staff on the property took to make sure our stay was wonderful. Green Turtle Cay is very laid back and we had an amazing time relaxing, fishing, joining in with locals at the cafes and bars for great music and rum punch. The beach is all to yourself, with stunning views of the water, reef and beyond.

We rented a boat for exploring the island and for fishing - which was also wonderful. Linton's will happily help you organize all these things when you make your reservations. Truely a gem of a find and now a recurring place for us to call home for as much of the winter as possible!

Absolutely NO complaints either. Even if I tried.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to stay in the Seaside Cottage at Linton's Beach Cottages and could not have had a better experience. The cottage, located on the part of the property that is on Linton's dock in the bay, was perfect. the fully equipped kitchen was stocked with enough spices to make even the most demanding chef happy. The house was immaculate, and furnished beautifully, right down to the gorgeous old paintings and comfortable furniture. Add Oreo, a potcake dog that stole our hearts, to the mix, and you have sheer heaven. The owners and staff are warm, friendly and courteous and could not have been more helpful, supplying us with any information and help we needed. The Conch Out Lounge offers a comfortable place to sip a cocktail while watching one of the famous Abaco sunsets. You are always just a boatride away from many of the other islands and their offerings. The town of New Plymouth is a short, fun golf cart ride away, and there you can find a grocery store, liquor store, bank, post office, etc. There are two other cottages across the property on the Sea of Abaco, offering breathtaking views of the gorgeous turquoise waters. The office even has limited internet and phone service.

Staying anywhere else on Green Turtle, or in any of the islands for that matter, is now out of the question for us. This magical place will forever be the only place we will ever stay when visiting the Abacos. After all, it's where Oreo lives, and that's all the reason I need!!

First of all, Green Turtle Cay is spectacular in its simplicity and beauty. The harbors bring real boaters (both blow boats and motor yachts) and others arrive by ferry from Treasure Cay; but the big draw is that there aren't a bunch of tourists. The town of New Plymouth founded in 1786 is classic small Bahamas town with three and a half food stores, a liquor store, a handful of restaurants and of course, the world famous Miss Emily's Blue Bee Bar, home of the Goombay Smash. Now for the main event: Linton's Beach and Harbour Cottages is like a dream about being on a deserted island with the blue ocean and sky and nobody around. Situated on 22 acres, the three cottages are exceptionally well outfitted with comfy beds, clean bathrooms, living, kitchen and porch areas. Outside overlooking the beach, chairs and hammocks are so inviting it'll probably be one of the first things you do once settled in. My wife developed 4 stations to sit, lie, sun and read depending on the position of the sun and ocean winds. Whatever you want, Fanny and Odney, who caretake the cottages can see to it. Fanny is really wired into the island community. Linton's is the best warm weather non-resort we have ever experienced.

Lintons cottages have three cottages on a large portion of land spanning the narrow width of Green Turtle Cay. We stayed in Seagrape Cottage, on the Atlantic Beach side.
Lintons arranged a taxi to pick us up from Marsh Harbour Airport and take us to The Ferry dock where a Ferry came immediately to pick us up and take us directly to Lintons own dock next to Harbour Cottage. There Odney was waiting with our own Golf Cart and took us directly to Seagrape Cottage. It honestly could not have gone smoother, we felt like VIPs!
Fanny and Odney look after you and the cottages. Nothing is too much trouble.
The cottage is beautifully maintained, feels like home from home.
It has all the comforts you could wish for and is perfectly designed to stay cool. It has ceiling fans and fly screens at all the windows so that the Atlantic breezes can waft through.
There is even a view of the Atlantic from the master bed.
The stunning beach is all to yourselves. There was no one else on the whole stretch for most of the time.
We would thoroughly recommend renting a golf cart as even though the distances are not far it would be hot to travel around even on the perfectly maintained bikes available to you. We were there in July.
The Golf Carts were great fun also!
We would also recommend a trip out with Brendal who is a legend and does the best rum punch, or maybe the honour should go to Miss Emily's Goombay Smash?
We snorkelled up the far end of the beach and saw plenty of fish and a ray.
The views of the Atlantic are amazing and constantly changing. We spent a ridiculous amount of time just watching the water, the clouds and the stars. No light pollution here!
The cottage is perfectly positioned on the Island, close enough to town to pop in and grab essentials but completely private.
We could not recommend Lintons highly enough. Thank you.

Wonderful cottages. Pristine beaches, clean and comfortable and chic accomodations. This place allows you to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life, but also gives you a lot of DIY options: i.e. you can cook for yourself or go out to a restaurant, you can lounge on the beach all day and play games or set up a boating adventure with a local guide… the options are limitless and all wonderful. A truly magical place on Earth.

We had a wonderful vacation at Linton's. It was our first visit to the Bahamas and Linton's was so helpful in finding a boat, golf cart rental, dining suggestions, etc. The cottage itself was perfect - everything we needed was right there and was better than a home away from home! Super comfortable, clean and well maintained. The beach is truly paradise - private, beautiful, peaceful. I loved relaxing in the hammock, listening to the ocean. Perfect location for quiet - but easy access into town via golf cart for dinner and music in the evenings. A little slice of paradise - we will definitely be spending more time there!! Sandy

We just got back from a stay at Linton's Cottage at the Harbour House. This house is very private. It has a great outdoor sitting area with a beautiful view of all the boats in the Black Sound. The bedroom has AC which made all the difference. The Harbour House is located next to Linton's private dock, which made it super convenient when we dropped off/picked up by the Green Turtle Ferry. The office is just down the road from the cottage. You will not have internet access at the cottage, you will have to go to the office.

The kitchen is well appointed and we made breakfasts and lunches at the cottage and ate out every night. They will automatically have a golf cart ready for you when you arrive. At first I thought that it was unnecessary as it is such a small island, but trust me it is. You will not explore the island like you should if you don't get a cart. Linton's is positioned about a 3 minute golf cart ride to town. Fannie and Odny are the caretakers and come around daily to tidy up the cottage.

On the other side of the property you will find the two beach side cottages. The cottages are bigger, but do seem to be close to each other. The beach off the property is quiet, beautiful white sand, and crystal clear water. Green Turtle is the friendliest island I have ever been to. This is a great place for couples and families. I have been to other places where there was a constant vigilance of safety and security of your belongings, pick pockets, etc.. I really felt an overwhelming sense of safety here, which was refreshing!

This island does not have an abundance of tours or loads of pamphlets on where to go. Get familiar with the best beaches and to-see items before coming. We did the tour with Lincoln Jones and really enjoyed it. I would recommend going to Coco Beach to swim with the sea turtles and bita bay (this is unmarked) to snorkel off shore. We rented a boat for a day but were inexperienced boaters so it was more stress than relaxation. We should have hired the boat guide to make it more enjoyable. If I had to do it over again I would attempt to hire a local to show me all of the best spots on the island on my first day there.

I would recommend that you are very prepared for this trip as the availability of items and the cost of most things are twice the norm. If you are one to want to have the right gear like me, this is what I recommend: phone or device loaded with music, portable Bluetooth radio to play that music at the beach, on the golf cart, etc... Viber downloaded to your phone and your family's phone so you can call via wifi service, swim shirts (trust me you need this-long sleeve), hat, sunglasses with chums, snorkel gear, water shoes, a detailed map of the island if you can find it, Nalgene water bottles (to pack rum punch and water to beach), cooler bag, sunscreen. I only brought in a couple of cans tuna, crackers, and granola bars. Next time I will go I will make the effort to bring in more food to include: frozen cans of juice concentrate, frozen seasoned fajita meat with tortillas, stuff to make pasta, small packets of jelly, ketchup, mustard, etc... Everything costs double at grocery store. May be a good idea to go fishing one day with a guide and then you can eat what you catch all week.

We went here on our anniversary, but can't wait to bring our kids back to the island and would definitely stay at Linton's again.

Writing a review of Linton's Cottages gives much joy.

First, the Linton's estate is a drop-dead gorgeous property - arguably the most desirable such property on Green Turtle Cay - and one of the very few that straddle the island, with deep water docks on Black Sound that stretch across to a drop-dead gorgeous beach on the oceanside.

Second - and no less important - Linton's is staffed by the ever thoughtful and attentive Messrs. Fanny and Odney, who together go about their duties with smiles, kindness and integrity; they are truly a delight.

Third - and the glue that holds it together - Linton's owners view themselves as stewards of a splendid, if not historic property, and are keenly intent on doing the right thing by it. Their pride in ownership shows, and is obvious, from start to finish. The result: a vacation hideaway that is at once laid back, tasteful and old-school.

Finally, if you want to spend a fortune on high-end "newness", go ahead. But why, when there's Seagrape, Palmetto and Harbour Cottages that can be SAVORED at a fraction of the price? As this "experienced" (35 years!) visitor to Green Turtle Cay knows full well: Linton's is as good as it gets!

To Linton's owners, to Fanny and to Odney: "Thanks to each of you for a marvelous stay. It was perfect - BRAVO!

AVOID AVOID AVOID Linton's Harbor Cottage at all costs!

This place is a nightmare.

Incessant roosters crowing outside your bedroom window from 2am until 7. The owner laughingly calls this an act of God. Then flippantly adds “Enjoy the wake up calls!”

Is that what ANYBODY wants on vacation? SHE SURE DIDN’T MENTION THIS ON HER WEBSITE!!

Also: the place is infested with mosquitoes, the AC only works in the bedroom, and there are sharks right off the dock.

To top it off, the owner insisted on cash payment only! Strange??

Don't waste your time or money on this place.
