I booked my vacation at Grand Isle last July for May 30th 2020. Of course due to Covid we couldn't go because the borders were closed. I request a refund April 28th which was even within their 30-day cancellation window. I received a cancellation email but never received a refund on my payment. I tried calling, email and chat to no avail. We rescheduled you vacation (at a VRBO) and are here now. We drove to Grand Isle, the security would not let us in but did listen to my story and called the general manager for me, Robert Sands ( just like beachbabealways83) he assured me that the reservation specialist just stepped out and that she would call me back THAT DAY! It's been two days and still no call back or a refund. We will try to go there again tomorrow before we leave the island but I don't have high hopes! The very least they could do is offer a credit for another time but they are not even doing that! I am so disappointed in a resort we liked so much!

My family was soooo excited to be vacationing at Grand Isle Resort for my grad school celebration. We’ve stayed at the nearby Sandals before and loved Exuma, but were looking forward to more of a home away from home kind of villa feel. Unfortunately, the resort/Bahamas closed due to COVID end of March/early April. My family has been trying to get our resort fee refunded since the first week of April to no avail!! The airlines refunded us immediately, but the resort will do nothing and keeps giving excuses why they haven’t refunded us yet. I have tried calling numerous times, no one will return the call. I have live-chatted with people on their website, but they only take my contact info and nobody ever contacts us back. I have sent several emails requesting a refund to their reservations and at some point a Robert Sands said a refund would be forthcoming on July 1st, but so far nothing! Waiting more than 3 months is completely ridiculous. This has never happened with Sandals and totally soured my family on Grand Isle!!!

I'll keep this simple. Pros: Great beach, great villas, staff is very nice, grounds are clean and neat, heated pools, great exercise room Cons: 2 restaurants, very high priced, no all-inclusive option, 23 North(restaurant) was a struggle while we were there, upon arrival one of the toilets was backed up, they brought us a plunger they didn't do it.

Absolutely loved our condo and time at the Grand Isle. The Palapas restaurant and food was amazing. The kids loved the beach area and adults also enjoyed the beach bar. The staff was very friendly. Great location as well as it was only about 30 mins from Georgetown. We will definitely be back!
