One of my favorite places in the world but unfortunately it is closed. Was there during the month of June and it has signs all over that say "no trespassing," "private property." I hope some day they will reopen. I had been to the Exumas about three years ago and had the pleasure of having lunch at their bar. What... More

Maybe my favorite place in the world! But I think it is no longer open to the public. It is, or was a marina on a tiny island in the Exuma Islands close to Staniel. There was a tiny restaurant and a tiny bar, and a tiny store. But the water is amazing. You could also rent a couple of... More

I love Sampson cay and would make the trip there every time I was in the area. Pleasant staff, good little grocery store but bests of all beautiful location. The owner has closed the resort to make it his private island, a real shame but who can blame him?

While we were staying at nearby Compass Cay, we traveled over to Sampson Cay three times to eat at the restaurant. The food was outstanding, particularly the lobster wrap. We had two small children with us and they loved the cheese pizza. Special kudos to Sonya - the vivacious Sonya - who displayed an awesome attitude and served us promptly.... More

We stayed over night and ate at the restaurant. Sonya was super sweet and served us super well and Tamicka cooked up some amazing fish fingers, chicken wings, and lobster! We wished the restaurant was open for longer hours, especially for dinner. We had to travel to Staniel cay for dinner which was a lot of fun.

We travel to the Exumas twice a year on our yacht and never miss staying at the marina for at least a couple of nights. The island is beautiful, relaxing, and full of daytime adventures. This year we also rented a few villas on the island for the overflow of guests from the yacht. The villas, as well as the... More

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at the marina at Sampson Cay. In fact, it was the nicest place we have stayed while on our 2 month cruising vacation on our yacht in the Bahamas. The entire staff were extremely pleasant to deal with and the facilities were spotless. If you are looking for a great marina in... More

The restaurant at Sampson is so good, with plenty of variety. Vivacious Sonya takes very good care of all her guests and has the best Bahama Mamas in the islands. Your wish is her command. The only drawback is that the restaurant is only open for lunch. It needs to be open for dinner, if only until 8pm. The whole... More

We went to Sampson's Cay for a small trip from Black Point. The marina was very nice as well as the beaches. We got the chance to see the nurse sharks and to enjoy the white perfect beach! Then we stoped for a meal in the restaurant. Sanya was great! She made us feel very welcomed and the service was... More

For the past 21 years we have kept our boat in the Bahamas for the winter. The last 5 years we have based out of Sampson. The facilities are excellent and are very well maintained. The store is well stocked and the food in the restaurant is always great. Also, the people that work there are very friendly and helpful.... More
