Great little resort on Shannas Bay on the North End of the island. Great location! Stayed for a week and rented a car from Yardie's to bop around the island a few days. The beach is pristine and you can walk for miles or grab a kayak and explore. Saw a few barracuda and rays.

My husband and I visited Cat Island three years ago and we loved the tranquility of the island so much that we decided to go back again, this year. We stayed at a different hotel in 2015, but happened upon Tail Winds and its owner, Rich, at that time. We decided right then if w

like the popular Bare Naked Ladies song goes, "I'd buy me this beautiful resort" that just came up for sale the week before we arrived. Richie built this resort from the ground up and has maintained it in such incredible condition you'll be amazed to know its the age it is. Locat

This place is right on the beach and features 4 stand-alone suites. Ours had a private outdoor shower!! (Maybe they all do, but we didn't snoop too much). There is a small, clean pool but you really don't need it because the gorgeous sea is right there! This place had a comfor

Can someone describe the privacy level in the rooms? I know everyone has their own cottage, but I’m just wondering if people can look inside your room as they walk around. Also, would it be possible to skinny-dip there?
There are curtains on the windows and patio doors; obviously if you leave them open those passing by can look in, that being said though, the deck is large between the rooms, someone wanting to see inside your room would have to purposely walk close by to see in. Is helpful to leave the curtains closed during the day when the afternoon sun is at its highest to keep your room cool, also so the air conditioning doesn't have to work so hard. And of course, if you leave your curtains open at night with the lights on, then those outside on the deck can see inside. There's enough greenery between the resort and the beach that those walking by at night would have to try real hard to look in. We stayed in Hannah's Hangar - it's beachfront - and left our curtains open at night so we could wake up to see the ocean from the bed. Some nights we turned the ac off, opened the windows and patio doors (all screened), opened the curtains to fall asleep and wake up to the ocean sounds. Ahhhhhh....... As far as skinny-dipping goes: depends on your comfort level!!

Do you have available any small kayak's or catamarans for use? Any restaurants close by in walking distance? Bicycles available to use? Anything close by in walking distance ( maybe within 2 KM)
There are kayaks available. There's the restaurant at Tailwinds and further down the beach at Shanna's. There's the beach to walk :)

My husband and I are planning a trip to Cat Island. My only concern is the noseeums. I have read such mixed reviews. Neither of us are fair skinned, but I get bitten very easily by mosquitos. I am assuming I will do the same with these. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Cindy, Depending on when you come down to the island their are mosquitoes. However if you bring some inspect repellent that would be a plus. Additionally in the event you forget we always have some available. Normally though they are not around during the day, only after or before sunlight. You have NO issues with them in your villa.
