WildQuest has been respectfully connecting with dolphins in the wild since 1995. We offer week-long retreats to swim with wild dolphins in The Bahamas. The WildQuest Retreat Center is situated in a friendly little fishing village, with a bayside terrace and a mooring for our catamaran DolphinQuest. Rooms are on the water and accommodations are light, airy and spacious with private bath and A/C. Food is fresh, healthy and organic where possible, including vegetarian, chicken or fish dishes. Our excellent chef caters to most dietary needs including vegan and gluten free. Each day on our week long retreats, we are scheduled to go out on our 41-foot catamaran DolphinQuest for some snorkeling at coral reefs, visiting the famous Atlantis Stone Road and of course meeting up with playful dolphins. Snorkeling and free diving lessons are included and all levels of aquatic skills are welcome. WildQuest provides a supportive and safe environment, both on the boat and on land for the optimum Human-Dolphin Connection. Other activities on offer are the daily yoga and meditation classes.

- beautiful, deep dolphin encounters - an incredibly nice group in which I immediately felt comfortable and very welcome. - smooth organization of the loving Wildquest team. I have been to Wildquest for the third time and come home deeply touched again. The encounter with the dolphins in the warm waters of the Bahamas, which voluntarily came swimming very close to us, I once again experienced as a great gift. Many thanks for a perfect holiday week with many deep and touching experiences in the water with the free living dolphins and on land with wonderful people! Whenever possible I will go there again and look forward to the next time.

Glad to hear Dorian spared Bimini: Great August week on Bimini with Wildquest. Fun dolphin encounters. (YAY Dolphins!) A professional crew focused on fun and safety: Amlas and Atmo have got the "dolphin-thing" dialed-in. There were a number of return visitors (some =>5 times!) on this trip. Captain Chris, kept a close eye on the weather (isolated summer squalls as the tropics heated up) and ensured we had time on the water even on a day that might been a wash. Peter was so nice and very patient with all of my "boat" questions. Our week's group had varying levels of water comfort/skill: All were accommodated and well-taken care of. It was fun to watch their skills transform in the water. Atmo captured these transformative moments on film. He has a great eye, and professional camera/housing/dome port, allowing for beautiful images. (Get the memory stick- worth it!) The boat was a nice place to decompress and chat with each other to-from the dolphin grounds. There were times that I cracked up like I was in high school ("I'M ON A BOAT...!!") If you are lucky (and coordinated) you might even learn to "Floss" like a kid...Still couldn't get it down, but had fun trying... The food was great-better than expected- Sarah provided healthy breakfasts every morning, and the dinners that Jo put out were amazing (roasted fennel in Bimini??!!! Bakewell Tart!!!) . Lunch on the boat was fun. Couldn't put my finger on why I looked forward to lunch so much and realized it's because 1. Swimming with dolphins builds up an appetite! 2. Never make "time" for a proper lunch (without staring at emails/spreadsheets) at home. One of the week's take-aways: "Live in the moment." Room was also nicer than expected: Basic, clean and roomy, even a minifridge with a cold jug of filtered water. Optional mediation sessions and sharing circles were very nice. The cherry on top was the option to sign-up for (reasonably priced, and fabulous) body-work sessions with Sukhama. Rhonda was a quiet force of nature, ensuring guests felt welcome, always with a smile, a helpful tip, or an "after-dolphin snack" on the boat. Return guests also helped us newbies feel right at home (Thanks Jamie and Sae- kitchen whirlwinds!) After your trip is confirmed, Wildquest provided a very comprehensive pre-trip list with tips: Much appreciated. Nala was very patient with any additional questions. If you are wondering if this trip is for you, go for it! Just remember, this is not SeaWorld: Dolphins do not show up on cue. They come by because they want to- which is the appeal. Be patient, enjoy the ride and Dolphins will find you:) Bimini is a tiny island with beautiful beaches but very laid back. There may even be the occasional, intermittent, short island-wide power interruption. Do not expect to come here to stream Netflix (or work through lunch;) Relax, enjoy the boat, dolphins, the beach, give Sandy, the mascot a belly rub, or lie in a hammock and live in the moment.

I wouldn't advise any friend to go to WildQuest. I paid over US$2250 (without the plane to Fort Lauderdale) and swam the equivalent of 55 minutes with the dolphins. First day: 25 minutes, 2nd day: 0 minutes, 3rd day: 30 minutes... Days 4 and 5: 0 minutes. The worst part is that on the 3rd day, the dolphins were still swimming with us (the tourists), but the director asked us to come back to the boat because she had booked a restaurant for dinner! What a lack of judgment!!!!! I didn't come to Bimini to eat in a commonplace restaurant: I invested all that money to swim with wild dolphins. I It was my dream that I saved up for. I think the restaurateur would have understood a half-hour delay knowing that we had the chance to swim with wild dolphins. The restaurateur knows very well that these nautical encounters are the source of income for the island of Bimini. I can't believe the WildQuest director chose to shorten our swim with the dolphins, who stayed close to us, even as we tried to get back in the boat! (They never came back to swim with us after that day...) Throughout the stay I clearly felt a lack of sincerity and welcome from the director. She showed false warmth under cold smiles. I didn't feel a warm welcome. She was clearly stressed. I have traveled a lot and this is the first time I have felt so unwelcome by a manager. In addition, I find that the description of the stay lacks transparency: tourists are expected to participate in sharing circles... Hmm! I already have a spiritual master. I didn't choose WildQuest to be lectured by strangers with guru ambitions, people who are not even able to welcome guests sincerely and openly... After the director forced us back on board (on the third day), we never saw the dolphins again. They are probably smart enough to remember that we left them hanging when they clearly wanted to "play" with us. When we don't see dolphins, the crew takes us swimming near some common corals. They try to make us believe they are fabulous, but if you've been scuba diving or snorkeling elsewhere in the Caribbean, you'll know it's all hogwash. These marine spaces were commonplace. These swims were meaningless. US$1795 + US$329 (FL-Bimini plane) + US$200 (minimum expected tip for employees) + other plane to Fort Lauderdale... Hum 55 minutes (about) of swimming with dolphins.... I find that WildQuest has not done its job properly. In addition, they never recognized the situation, mentioned that they were sorry they couldn't spot the dolphins! No conscience. It was as if everything was normal. Anyway, with or without a dolphin, they receive the same amount of money... I couldn't recommend friends to go there. I wouldn't be a good friend if I did.

Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. I can understand your disappointment. We are very aware that coming to WildQuest to swim with the dolphins is a big dream for many people and that it often takes huge efforts to make this dream come true. We are really sorry you feel this way. We can not guarantee any dolphin swims - it is always up to the dolphins what happens when we meet. We do, on average, see the dolphins 4 days out of 5, although we do not necessarily swim with them in each instance. Calling the people back to the boat involves many factors and I feel there might have been a misunderstanding. Things considered are available daylight, tides, safety and specific dolphin behaviour which have nothing to do with the evening arrangements. I am sorry if that was the impression you had. Also that you felt you had to join the group activities - everything we offer is always optional and we don’t want anybody to feel pressured to take part. Again - we are sorry that you feel this way - this has not been our intention at all. Thank you for sharing with us.

My daughter has been been part of the crew on Dolphinquest for 6 months. I was invited by her to come and experience a typical Wildquest week. After registering with Nala who was very helpful in answering all my questions I set out into the blue beyond. Flying from the uk to Miami and taxi to Fort Lauderdale. I arrived at the Bahia Mar hotel in Fort Lauderdale and was delighted with the comfortable room I was given with lovely views over the Marina. After a good nights sleep to recover from the flight I had a day to sample the sights of Fort Lauderdale. At 5.30 that day I met Gisela and the rest of the Wildquest pod in the foyer of the hotel. She updated us on the arrangements for the next day and we then went in the hotel buggy to a local restaurant for a lovely meal together. This was a great opportunity to get to know one another and begin the bonding process which was to become closer and closer throughout the week. Early on the Monday morning we went by taxi to the small airport where we had a light breakfast whilst we and our luggage were weighed and our documents were processed. We then left in a small plane for the exhilarating flight over to the small islands of north and south Bimini. It was amazing to watch Bimini coming into view amidst the turquoise blue of the sea. We arrived onto South Island and after passing through immigration we boarded a land taxi and then a water taxi towards our destination of Wildquest. We arrived to a lovely welcome from all the crew waiting on the dock for us. After disembarking we were shown to our rooms by crew members and our week got underway. Each day we were looked after so well by the crew. Everything had been thought of and the organisation was second to none! The food was delicious , the location idyllic and the atmosphere was full of love and support, by the crew but also by the other visitors- called ‘pod’. Our time on the boat was absolutely brilliant and I had to pinch myself to believe I was actually sailing on this beautiful boat in what looked like paradise. The crew were so kind and helpful, helping me in the water as I was not that confident with snorkelling and soon I was seeing nurse sharks , beautiful fish and dolphins!!! Lots of them! Amazing to watch them come so close to the boat! My highlight was holding to the lines behind the boat as we sailed through the warm blue waters surrounded by lots of dolphins! The week ended too quickly and deep friendships were made with the rest of the pod. The whole experience was fantastic! And a week far away from the life I live at home - a truly life changing experience! Highly recommended! X

WildQuest has been on my bucket list for years. My husband and I enjoyed our time with the amazing people and sweet dolphins. It was unforgettable, healing and really words cannot express how awesome it was. We had never done 5rhythms before. Lucia and Douglas were outstanding! Amlas, Atmo and the whole crew were of highest caliber. We watched the sunrise and the full moon rising right outside of our room. The boat, rooms and surroundings were lovely and the people of Bimini were very kind. We will surely go again!
