My father and I came to Nathan's lodge for our first bone fishing experience on the fly rod. We were greeted at the airport by the most wonderful fella named Freeman who cared for us the whole time by driving us the boat and also dropping us off at the airport. The time at the lodge was spent with only a handful of people who all seemed like family. We were served the most delicious bahamian food cooked by none other than the beautiful and amazing Shiva! We were also lucky enough to share the time with Nathan who is one of the most generous and very caring man we have ever met. You are in very good hands when it comes to bone fishing as well as we were provided with three straight days of many opportunities to hook up on some very good Bonefish. Unfortunately we were very unprepared and ended up getting destroyed by the fish. All in all the time we spent at Nathlan's lodge and in Andros was just what we wanted and we would highly recommend staying at Nathan's. Such an amazing experience!

Everything was perfect! Food from the restaurant made by Shiva was homemade and delicious. Freeman was super friendly and helpful with everything. Nathan was not at the island but he called to check on us and make sure we were having a good time. We went to Andros to celebrate my birthday and they surprised me with a beautiful cake made specially for the occasion. The lodge is right by a breathtaking beach, it’s so quiet and peaceful! We only stayed two nights but we got to really disconnect and get 100% relax. Totally recommend!

So we have just returned from a week's stay here. Initially when we arrived I was a bit anxious as we were the only couple staying and the area is very quiet. I realised we would eat at the lodge every night. However this turned out to be no hardship as Shiva is an amazing cook. We were in Nassau before and after the trip to Andros but Shiva's food was outstanding and it was great to have proper Bahamian food like cracked conch and her great conch salad. Freeman was terrific. He cooked breakfast every day for us and sorted the bikes so we could go out on the,. Also organised a great nature walk with The wonderful Babs and a snorkelling trip with the amazing Chip. The beach 2 mins walk from the property is to die for. The owners son Nathan was there for our first 2 nights and then Nathaniel himself was down for a night. Both were excellent company and keen to make sure we were well looked after. When we cycled round south Andros we met lots of local folk who were v friendly and helpful. We also met the lovely Bob and Helen Duff. There is no massive night life but if you want a bit of time out of the rat race with an amazing beach on your doorstep this is the place. Despite Freemans best efforts the wifi was a bit intermittent so if this is vital to you make sure you have a package on your phone. It was not a problem for us. Totally loved it.

My wife and I like to get away off season and enjoy nature and the beach. This was our first trip to the Bahama's and we were very happy with Nathan's Lodge. Great location near the beach. Great service at the lodge with Freeman hooking us up with local info and Sheva cooking for us.

We recently stayed a week at Nathan's Lodge. My husband fly fishes and I scuba dive, so we are always looking for places where we can do both. South Andros is one of the best places in the Bahamas for bone fishing and the diving is great. Nathan's Lodge was a wonderful place to stay. We had a cottage with a full kitchen, though we did enjoy the home cook meals at the lodge's bar and restaurant. Nathan himself even came down from Nassau to join us for dinner one evening. He could not have been more gracious and interesting. Freeman, who is onsite, made sure we had everything we needed and always checked in on us to see if we needed anything else as well as if we were going to have breakfast or dinner that day. They do their best to accommodate your tastes or specific food needs (husband is diabetic who manages with diet). He also was able to let us know information about the island, where to go, banking information, etc. The beach was at the end of the lawn, and the water absolutely gorgeous aqua blue. Just bear in mind you are at a Bahamian out island and if will be an authentic experience, meaning groceries are limited, but the people could not be more welcoming. There are no "tourist" shops but remember you are there to fish and to dive- who needs anything else! (Except the cracked lobster and conch dinners down the road).
